      Great song! Thanks.
What Steve Mc Queen movie was that? I haven’t seen all his movies yet, though ‘Bullitt’ was an all time favourite, I recently viewed ‘Sand Pebbles’ and enjoyed it also.

    1. Thank you, Ken. This should be required reading all across BOTH our nations, especially by those prone to sound forth on Trump being “unfit for office”.
Think CBC will be doing an interview with him any time soon?

    2. There is always something “there” in the surveillance state, even if it has to be made up. Two demonstrably false assertions, that Page had met certain Russians and that he was a Russian agent (must have been a double agent since he had been working for the FBI outing nefarious Ruskies), were the evidence to turn the country upside down.

What do they call it, fruit of the poison tree? Methinks the IG Investigation on these FISA warrants has found some nasty stuff.

Even President Trump has remarked the FISA judges impartiality is questionable. To all the Trump haters – he is at least one step ahead of you, so has information to that effect imho.

“While the documents were heavily redacted in places, the New York Times reported that visible portions of the documents show the FBI telling the intelligence court that Page “has been collaborating and conspiring with the Russian government.” The agency also told the court that “the FBI believes Page has been the subject of targeted recruitment by the Russian government.”

    1. If he has no strength in his convictions or does not clearly know what they are then he is unfit to represent people in the House of Commons let alone lead a political party or lead a government. Could just be a coward.

    2. That is what Turd’O’s idle Obama did. Make anyone who decanted or disagreed to be called Racist.
Racist was the buz word of the Obama years and is still being used to shut down right thinking people.

    3. Sheer is smart enough to know that he can’t go against t he CBC until his ratings have reached a higher altitude.

For God’s sake, just look at the comments he gets here and this is supposed to be a Conservative web site. Or at least that’s what it says after a Google search!! Imagine the hate mail he’s get on CBC!!

      1. ewe kare, there are times when one needs to recognize they are not up to the job, and politics is one of those times. Cheers ain’t no leader, and never will be, and thus needs to be replaced. He is probably very good at thumping his bible, butt that does not cut it in the political world. Kapeech????

  1. More global warming nonsense: The city of Baltimore filed suit against 26 oil companies for knowingly contributing to what the city called the catastrophic consequences of climate change
    https://www.yahoo.com/news/baltimore-lawsuit-blames-oil-gas-companies-climate-change-191311882–finance.html

“These oil and gas companies … could have warned us. They could have taken steps to minimize or avoid the damage. In fact, they had a responsibility to do both, but they didn’t, and that’s why we are taking them to court,” city solicitor Andre Davis said in a statement.

Funny I do not see leftist politicians cutting back their carbon emissions. That’s because global warming is just a tax grab for the left. Nor do I see politicians cutting back their own personal expenditures or travel. Will Turdeau, Obama, or saint Suzuki cut back their own travel etc. Not a chance cause they know global warming is not real.
But perhaps its time to sue Turdeau and Suzuki for not doing more themselves.

    1. An even better law suit would be against the people of Baltimore who now clearly know the dangers of climate change and yet still use fossil fuel. Stop heating your homes and driving your cars or we’ll sue your a$$ off.

      1. The people of Baltimore should be sued, they actually knew about global warming back in the 1990s and did nothing. Same with California, New York, and of course the Liberal party of Canada, who signed us up for Kyoto but did nothing to curb their own extravagances.

  2. The FISA warrant on Carter Page was released.

It was heavily redacted, but a lot of suspected bias, incompetence, and wrong doing by the FBI and DOJ was confirmed. The State Department was involved, the FBI never told the FISA judges that Hillary Clinton’s campaign was the source of the information in the FISA Warrant.

Carter Page was a valuable FBI Asset in March 2016, helping them convict real Russian spies, but by October 2016, he became a known notorious Russian Spy. Carter Page was identified by the FBI as a Russin Spy requiring a FISA warrant to monitor him, all his friends, family, business partners, and most importantly Trump political campaign personnel; and all of THEIR friends, family, business partners, and Republican political campaign contacts too.

That means Candidate Trump, President Elect Trump, and President Trump, the RNC, and most of their contacts were fair game surveillance/ spying on by the FISA Warrant.

  3. Andrew Coyne thinks the current Liberal backlash on a carbon tax is a blessing in disguise for the Liberals. Coyne makes a big mistake near the end of his piece and his Liberal shroud falls off.

“Specifically, it [a Federal carbon tax] would permit a more aggressive pricing schedule, of a kind that people might believe would actually work — and which would provide the revenues with which to finance equally deep and fast cuts in personal and corporate income taxes. ”

On the one hand we will need aggressive carbon pricing (i.e. high prices) to have an effect on carbon reduction. On the other hand we [the government] will give the money back to you [the useless voter] in the form of deep and fast cuts in personal and corporate income taxes. I’m thinking the price part is true and the second part is an election promise.

    https://nationalpost.com/opinion/andrew-coyne-provincial-carbon-tax-revolt-could-be-a-blessing-in-disguise-for-federal-liberals?video_autoplay=true#comments-area

In the comments section Coyne is described as a “non-partisan genius” with heavy sarcasm.

    1. Its a brutal POS article written by someone who is increasingly more offside. The fact that he thinks the carbon tax is a good thing shows how brilliantly stupid he has become; and anyone who thinks a carbon tax is anything but a sin tax is either delusional or a full retard.

      1. And the beauty of a carbon tax is that it is doomed to fail in the purpose for which it is intended. Fossil fuel demand is inelastic so consumption will never decrease. It is a reliable source of revenue. People aren’t going to miraculously stop heating their homes and quit using transportation. And whatever Canada does to decrease CO2 output won’t even cover a tiny fraction of that of the 1,500 planned and under construction coal fired plants around the world.

        1. ‘Inelastic’? By what twisted economic theory does demand not affect consumption rate based on price? Higher prices restrict usage and cheap prices actually encourage consumption. The significance of pricing resides heavily on emerging economies where energy can be a big cost factor in determining business success and even feasibility.

The more pertinent debate is a calculated evaluation on the pros and cons of energy usage for a deemed benefit to society. For example LNG in Prince Rupert was scuttled by eco terrorists. The BC government of the day did not do a very good job in explaining to citizens what losing $200 billion in capital investment meant to them. The value has to be brought down to the individual citizen so they can underatnd in dollar terms what foregoing investment means.

Financial literacy is as weak in Canada as it has been for decades. No political parties have made a serious effort to change that. Not the CPC, the Liebels, Dippers or Greens. It is a joke.

          1. The actual term is price inelasticity of demand.

Hardly “twisted,” and obvious to anyone who has taken even a high school economics course.

It applies to staple, or necessary goods. The example is bread. If you raise the price of bread substantially, notwithstanding possible food riots, and in the absence of alternatives, people will still buy it at the inflated prices.

If you raise the price of gas, it takes a lot to reduce demand, as we have seen. Gas prices have risen due to market forces far higher than any carbon “pricing” could achieve, but that doesn’t stop the apparatchiks.

It is neither infinite nor universal, it depends on the good or service. Yes, everything is ultimately dependent on price, but demand for certain things continues at or near the same level despite increasing prices.

Having said that, in the absence of price fixing and collusion, higher prices will invite competition. Government is the worst culprit, as it sets its own inelastic demand, because it has a monopoly on power and coercion.

But that is an illusion, as the elections of Ford and Trump attest, both brought in to limit government.

            You’re welcome.

          2. CT, as prices, on every thing, rise I take a second job to cover said costs. So now I drive to and from work twice a day, and that will reduce my consumption. I git it CT, as an engineer, common sense is elusive for you!!!!

          3. Not only is energy demand price inelastic, energy conversion and utilization is the underlying basis for our economy. Any increase in the price of energy will be highly inflationary (devaluing the currency). The only way taxes on energy, or arbitrary increases in the cost of energy such as the Ontario electricity scam can decrease consumption is by causing a recession/depression.

      2. It is just another tax on the already over burdened Canadian tax payer. It is just the cause de jour that they think will make stupid Canadians pay up without revolt. They should know by now that they could force everybody to breathe through a regulator and no one would complain. Inhale 5 cents, exhale 10 cents, yep, I can see a future for that idea.

    2. Thats funny.
Because that was the exact strategy that Stephan Dion used to try to sell his carbon tax.
      How’d that work out again?

      1. every friggin time I see that pantywaist’s name I think of that quote of his on the brutal cut-and-thrust nature of politics:
“isssz nod fair”. not fair? huh ??????? you goddamn lieberal WUSS !!!! fair ??????????? in politics ?????

cant recollect what the issue was but migawd what ghastly naivety. and then there was the knife-and-fork hotdog thing . . .

    3. well steve, they need to tax you more to tax you less, sounds about rite for libtard logic to me:-)))

“Judge Throws Out New York Climate Lawsuit

A federal judge has dismissed a suit brought by the city that would have forced fossil fuel companies to pay for some costs of climate change.”

“A federal judge has rejected New York City’s lawsuit to make fossil fuel companies help pay the costs of dealing with climate change.

Judge John F. Keenan of United States District Court for the Southern District of New York wrote that climate change must be addressed by the executive branch and Congress, not by the courts.

While climate change “is a fact of life,” Judge Keenan wrote, “the serious problems caused thereby are not for the judiciary to ameliorate. Global warming and solutions thereto must be addressed by the two other branches of government.”

The 23-page decision is a second defeat for local and state governments seeking to use the judiciary to address problems caused by climate change. The first was in a case brought by San Francisco and Oakland that was thrown out last month by Judge William H. Alsup of Federal District Court in San Francisco.”

  5. A southern Alberta teenager’s desire to quash proposed changes to federal firearms legislation has become the second-most-signed e-petition to the government in Canadian history.

Ryan Slingerland, 15, launched an e-petition opposing Bill C-71 — an act that aims to amend certain acts and regulations relating to firearms — at the end of March, and as of Saturday it had garnered some 83,000 signatures of support.

“Gallup Poll: No One Believes ‘Climate Change’ Is America’s Biggest Problem”

“Americans came up with 36 answers to a Gallup poll asking the biggest problem currently facing the country, and no one answered “climate change,” with only two percent even mentioning the environment at all, Gallup revealed last week.

In a random poll of 1033 U.S. adults, immigration topped the list as the greatest problem faced by the United States at this moment, with 22 percent offering that response.

While 17 percent responded that dissatisfaction with government was the biggest issue, others proposed race relations, national disunity, healthcare, and family decline.

Missing from Gallup’s list of causes garnering at least 3 percent of responses was the vague category of “Environment/Pollution,” which drew only 2 percent.”

    1. I would be interested in knowing how much Canadians think Climate Change is a priority. I believe Liberals would be quickly disillusioned with their current focus on a carbon tax. At best, Liberal supporters put up with this without making a big fuss, but I doubt too many still believe Climate Change is a big problem that must be addressed.

      1. Liberals believe in the carbon tax not because of whether it would work or not, and in spite of its its inability to do anything other than be a cash cow.
The reason liberals believe in having a carbon tax is they firmly believe that they will never have to pay it.

    2. “Immigration topped the list as the greatest problem faced by the United States at this moment, with 22 percent offering that response. ”

Yes! and the Republicans are making the same mistake Hillary Made… She got to much information (from the urinal) that resulted in her happily demonizing Trump & forgot to sell herself…..Emotion is a bigger bitch than logical reasoning.. Pass an Immigration Bill & get on with defending that Action, the alternative is dysfunctional cold hearted (let them eat cake) denial.. Not going to work

“Josh Hader Receives Ovation in First Appearance Since Publishing of Old, Racist Tweets

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Milwaukee Brewers reliever Josh Hader has received a warm ovation from fans in his first appearance on the mound since his years-old racist and homophobic tweets surfaced during the All-Star Game.

The left-hander jogged in from the bullpen after the Brewers scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a 4-2 lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers. He took a few warmup tosses before being introduced by the public address announcer.”

“Most of the more than 36,000 fans attending in attendance were applauding after he was introduced, with many fans standing at Miller Park.”

  8. Many years ago, I was diving in the English Channel and saw a CHinnook do the same thng, as a training exercise I think, on the water. It picked up a dingy of several people. Very impressive. Not to be done if the pilot has a cold – sneezing would be dangerous.

    1. The Chinook is an amazing aircraft. In Afghanistan a Chinook and its dedicated and brave crew rescued endangered US forces from a hilltop, never actually, just hanging off the edge so the guys could jump in. Impressive indeed.

    1. Conrad Black has his time-line wrong! I will get worried about Trump when he forgets his NY attitude…

“Canadian Veteran Suing Liberal Cabinet Minister Seamus O’Regan For Defamation”

“Lawsuit relates to comments made by O’Regan in an article about the Liberals broken lifetime pension promise.

During the 2015 election, the Trudeau Liberals talked a good game when it came to supporting injured Canadian Veterans. They said they would no longer fight Veterans in court, and they promised to restore the ‘Pension for Life.’

Once in office however, the Liberals kept fighting Veterans in court, broke their promise to restore the lifelong pension at the same amount it was previously, and Justin Trudeau even said wounded Veterans were asking for too much – as he spent billions elsewhere.

Now, Canadian Veteran Sean Bruyea is suing Veterans Affairs Minister Seamus O’Regan for defamation.”

  10. With apologies to Carly Simon:

    You walked into the Party
Like you were walking on a yacht
Your pant strategically raised above one shoe
    Your sock, it was apricot
You had one eye on the mirror
    And watched yourself perform
And all the left dreamed that they’d be your partner
    They’d be your partner, and

    You’re so vain
You probably think this country’s about you
    You’re so vain,
I’ll bet you think this country’s about you
    Don’t you?
    Turdeau

You groped me several years ago
    When I was still naive
Well, you said small business was a big tax dodge
    And that carbon must leave
But you drive around in a great big car
And live in a huge house
I had some dreams, there was pot in my brownies
    Pot in my brownies, and

    You’re so vain
You probably think this country’s about you
    You’re so vain,
I’ll bet you think this country’s about you
    Don’t you?
    Turdeau

Well I hear you went to the Taj Mahal
    And your costume, naturally, won
Then you flew your Airbus down to the Bahamas
    To vacation in the sun
Well, you’re taking selfies all the time
And when you’re not, you’re with some socialist dupe
Or at the house of a close friend,
House of a close friend, and

    You’re so vain
You probably think this country’s about you
    You’re so vain,
I’ll bet you think this country’s about you
    Don’t you?
    Turdeau

    1. Excellent! Thanks. If they can get the rights to the music, Conservatives would have a real winner as an ad song for the next election. The visuals to go with this would be great.

  11. Canadians seem to be so concerned over Donald Trump while at the same time turning a blind eye to the imbecile P.M Gerald Butts and his sock puppet in Ottawa who are destroying Canada one mistake at a time

      1. Exactly. It is by design. Maurice Strong’s dream of destroying resource development coming true.

    1. That’s really shocking! In the decade 1980-1990, I spent a lot of time in SF on business and was initially impressed by the city and its people. As the 80’s wore on, I would see more people sleeping in doorways and evidence of drug use. Now, seeing this, SF will not see me again in my lifetime. I’m thinking Vancouver is headed in the same direction and with a new permanent safe injection site in Calgary, can my town be far behind?

    1. Sorry, leftists can’t believe Trump’s popular, so it isn’t true, so anyone who says so is a liar….

And of course a racist, misogynist, Nazi …

Speaking of Nazis, Brennan is in the news via Rand Paul who want the former CIA chief’s security clearance revoked.

D’ya figure? What has he done wrong besides seditious comments about POTUS? BTW, I draw from Canadian experience, but there are two requirements before accessing classified information: the required clearance; and a “need to know.”

Why does a CNN media shill have a need to know about any classified matters?

“House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) called Sunday for Brennan to testify on Capitol Hill about his role in the investigation of Russian meddling during the 2016 election.”

Goodlatte said it’s “extremely disturbing“ to see Brennan and former FBI Director James Comey “express the kind of extreme bias that they’ve shown now.”

Brennan did not immediately respond to requests for comment.” No shit sherlock. I think they have him for perjury too btw.

  13. I won’t touch a food product from China because they will kill thousands to save pennies. Then I find a high blood pressure drug is made in China and adulterated with cancer causing shit. If I wait to see if I get cancer, it’s too late to sue. If I go in on a class action with 50 million others, some lawyer will make a $ billion and I will get $ 100. My daughter was a chemist for a drug company and they did biological and chemical tests to insane degrees to ensure safe drugs. Whose stupid idea is it to allow China to export drugs to Canada?
