Of all the regulars here, your posts resonate the most with me, and I look forward to seeing them. However, can you really think that exactly the same things that you found off putting are the qualities that make him an achiever?
Mostly his style is not my style, but I have never let it bother me. One thing I have learned since very young was don’t look at the packaging, but what is inside. When I was much younger, I tried to be incisive about that, as in making incisions, drawing blood with my putdowns with people I found especially hypocritical. I am sure a lot of people found that off putting, especially in my ethnic culture. But I always did it with a good reason, to expose those people for what they were.
So in that regard I understand what Trump is doing, what he has found necessary to do. In a more perfect world, where the media is less biased, he may have been possible to make his point without being belligerent about it. But in this political reality, I cannot think of a better way for him to communicate with his base than his tweets. By the constraints of that medium, he has to be short and to the point, and that will come across as arrogant schlock lacking in depth.
Obviously he is getting results, both in accomplishing his promises, and in communicating that fact, in spite of the 99% slanted media. That is what matters, not if Mr. George Will et al. think he is not fit to be admitted to their gentlemen’s club a la Victorian England.

If I can believe some recent reports, far from a given, Pres. Trump has been nominated for the prize by both Republicans and a couple of Norwegian politicians (anti-establishment Progress Party). I do believe it’s a long shot but think of the potential. The awarding of the Peace Prize could itself become a gesture of peace. Not between countries but between … I have a hard time saying world views because it may give to much credence to the left as having actual substance… OK… world views.
