I have been a long-time subscriber to the left-wing Globe and Mail (in order to follow my business investment portfolio), and for a long time the moribund newspaper carried Southey’s dreadful op-eds. They were unintended self-parody: left-wing, snobbish elitism taken to extreme. Like you say, no normal reader could get past the first sentence, before rolling his eyes and shaking his head. The overrated newspaper finally fired the nasty writer last October (causing a consternation amongst the ruling Starbucks elite). But she has found a new home with the increasingly left-wing Maclean’s magazine.

  9. A whole day has passed since Doug Ford was voted in and all is calm. I was told by the lame stream media there would be riots, hospital closures, LGBTQWERTY people hanging from lamp posts, plagues of locusts, fire raining from the heavens if Ontarians didn’t vote for the NDP.

    I didn’t vote for a red tory government, I voted for a deep blue wave that will wash away the sexual education programs that were created by a pedophile, the ‘green’ energy program that is driving electricity costs through the roof and businesses out of the province and restore fiscal sanity.

    I hope ford rolls in like a bull in progressive china shop and starts taking names of any PC that wants to reign him in.

    First move should be against carbon tax. Any PC MP that does not support the move should be kicked out.

          1. Well UnSmart, you’r wrong as usual. You certainly can’t tell from that article who picked the strawberries because the article is about blueberries. I live in the Fraser Valley surrounded by blueberry AND strawberry fields. East Indians pick the blueberries but I seldom see them picking stawberries. Only whites. In fact almost all blueberries are harvested by (huge)machines.

  13. If Doug Ford’s efficiencies pan out, the savings should suffice to allow OHIP to pay for Tabatha and her feminist sisters to be institutionalized till someone discovers a pharmaceutical cure for whatever is wrong with them.

    (I’m not optimistic—I continue to believe that feminism is a symptom of childhood sexual abuse of girls by “liberated” adult men, and as such is incurable—but a pill that can cure it will be a pleasant surprise.)
