  1. Any semi sane person would not vote for Whorevath or Wynne…they either wont vote or go Doug Ford.

I fervently hope it is Ford that wins. Will he make cuts..?
He damned well better…Ontario with $325Billion in the Toilet, he has no Choice.

I would love to see a Klein type Scythe taken to Public Service Unions, an End to the Green Energy & Municipalities Acts, an end to Feed In Tariffs for Energy producers and Killing the OLCB to allow alcohol to sold by Private enterprise….just for starters.

If Whorevath Wins – this country is done.

    1. We shall find out whether the public sector unions ar the majority of the voting public.

      1. Kingston Ontario has become a government town over the last 50 years and the vote yesterday for the NDP is indicative of the government union mentality. The area used to be solid conservative.

    2. Good; this “country” needs to BURN. This “country” has never been anything but Ontario and Quebec. No other region has ever mattered. When Ontario and Quebec kill themselves with socialism, no aid or sympathy will be forthcoming from me. Everyone in Ontario and Quebec can starve, freeze in the dark, whatever. No one in Ontario or Quebec ever raised a finger to stop the CWB, no one ever stopped the gun grabbing, no one ever tried to keep the crow rate (which was promised in perpetuity, but ended up not serving Ontario and Quebec), no one ever did anything about the “national” railways (read Ontario and Quebec railways) never adequately serving the prairies.

I will celebrate the end of Canada. It will be the greatest event of my lifetime. Anyone who is loyal to Canada in any way, simply means fealty to Ontario and Quebec.

      1. I understand your frustration. I was born in New Brunswick, lived in Saskatchewan from age 2 until 27, then moved to Ontario because my wife worked for a large Canadian company and was offered a promotion which required a transfer. I started a small business in Ontario which is still running. My wife and I are both consultants and, in my wife’s case, has worked around the world.

But for you to say that no one in Ontario has ever lifted a finger to save any province but Ontario is patently false – I have always voted Conservative, just like I did today. I was not a fan of the Canadian Wheat Board as all my relatives are farmers, and my father was an agricultural engineer. I don’t like over-regulation as it stands in the way of progress, and I don’t support governments propping up either public service unions or private corporations. I don’t support gun control as all my relatives are hunters – to supplement the family budget and the table. I am not in favor of gender equity as it is currently posited and I have real concerns about our trade negotiation with the US. I don’t believe in AGW as the evidence is poorly collected and collated and the prophecies always off. So we agree on a lot of things but on this we don’t agree. The country can be saved, but not by the Liberals, the NDP, or the Greens because we need logic and not emotion, pragmatism and thrift, not limitless spending or debt. The Conservatives need to drop the Progressive nonsense and look at reality, not fantasy. I used my vote in the best way I know, and I communicate with my representative to argue for different outcomes.

        1. Well said Doug. But I also share Kevin’s frustration. This country by and large is run by the Laurentian Elite for the Laurentian Elite. The west is just convenient to milk and keep under control.

        2. Good points Doug. After listening to a poverty activist on show about changes to the BC Residential Tenancy Act, I feel there is a really big thing we don’t need right now: when their arguments fails to pass economic muster, moving the goalposts to nebulous and subjective ideas like equity &/or “fairness,” while focusing on the wrong problem with the wrong “solution.”

It’s easier to induce market failure, doubling down on its causes (over government), then blame others with more scapegoating and accelerating failed prescriptions based on false premises, which have no empirical backing, appealing only to emotion and confirmation bias.

I know, you meant that too. Good show.

        3. Frankly, I’m not buying it. Same BS spouted when the LPOC ran this place into the ground last time, with 100 seats elected for three back to back f/n terms in Ontario. This election should be a slam dunk choice to Ontario, but you know it won’t be. I’m predicting NDP & a service contract to Bob Rae. Too many douchebags with too much money to lose if the Libs or NDP don’t control things. Funny, even the PC’s aren’t on Ontario’s side, they’re fighting a control war as you vote today, behind the scenes. Like the GOPe.

The time for give & take, aw c’mon guys it’s just the commies, we’ll beat them next time, I promise, we just need logic and not emotion, pragmatism and thrift, not limitless spending or debt. Blah, blah, blah. I think you’re working for the progs boy, with lines like that. The time for all that kumbayah is DONE. Tracks need ripping up & borders closed. Land locked you say, pity. I’d do it just to piss you off down there.

This country is done & you can’t even see it. The only reason you’re blubbering about “saving the country” is because you’re in hock to your eyeballs on a plaster board & plastic glued house in the ‘burbs, in 416 or 905. Playing The Game on real estate, selling condos to each other, ‘cause investing is risky. Globalist douchebags who vote for .gov to screw other parts of the country out of any sort of economic outcome other than slavery to Central Kanada.

At 8 pm EST, we’ll know if this country can be “saved”, or not.

          1. Blubbering? Working for the progressives? I want none of the above, but I do know from history (like Venezuela, for example), what happens when violent means are used to settle conflict – it doesn’t end well. And as to why logic hasn’t worked, has anybody, including you, Po’ed, seen a budget that you can believe, complete with all the numbers including the unfunded mandates, for any party running in Ontario or any other province, including Alberta (under the NDP and Red Rachel who I am certain that you didn’t vote for)? I haven’t and I have asked the Ford campaign for those numbers. And I will keep pushing for the numbers because that is where any budget, business, household, or provincial, must start, with expenses first, and then realistic evaluation of projected earnings, and if earnings don’t cover expenses, then something must go. But none of the parties want to put out real numbers because they would scare the public, and the public is very much like an ostrich – they don’t know and they don’t care with their heads in the sands. Well, it is time to pull the ostrich’s head from the sand, and deal with reality – the country, and every province in the country is broke and yes, Ontario is the worst of the bunch.

        4. “The Conservatives need to drop the Progressive nonsense and look at reality, not fantasy.”

But they NEVER will, Douglas, never. Because the little poli-sci grads in their elf suits tell them to follow the trends of our ever-increasing, ever more shallow/stupid/uncaring/helpless me-now urban populations.

So we will continue to get faux Conservative politicians like Scheer, who will continue to burn billions on utter horseshit like the AGW apocalypse while hospital hallways in our major cities – even the Nation’s Capital – are lined with stretcher cases because the rooms are full.

And I don’t expect much different from Ford. He has said he will scrap the Green Energy Act, but he won’t tear up one windmill contract. He is on record saying he will not cut one government job – even though the size and influence of our bloated government is our number one economy-killer, public debt builder, and eroder of freedoms. And his flip-flop on development within the Greenbelt shows that he’s as scared shitless of the Trawna press as his predecessors.

          1. So have you written to Ford and demanded (not suggested) that he tear up the contract as you would wish? They have a legal opinion on record that they could do it with impunity, but no one is pushing for it. So if you don’t get a response, then pester them repeatedly. Pester them until they are tired of you. And then keep pushing until they get angry. And yes, Scheer doesn’t impress me either, and yes, most of the civil service jobs could be replaced with decent technology, but a good start would be right to work legislation to break the backs of the unions, just like Wisconsin did in the US.

And NEVER is a very long time. The pendulum can be swung back. Get mad and write your local politician and don’t let up.

          2. To Mr D: “…seen a budget that you can believe…”. Yes, I did. Ralph Klein & I’ve got a photocopy of my “dividend” check to prove it. He said he could run AB on 11 billion & he did. That despite the weeping & wailing ever since that he wrecked Alberta. Well, maybe in a unionized .gov worker’s world. Nobody in private sector land suffered, not until Ed Stelmach came along. A prog in sheep’s clothing, same with Redford & Prentice. Ralph Klein ran a no bullshit .gov. The public sector sabotaged everything since, with I might ad complicit, faux conservatives running the place for their benefit.

          3. “then pester them repeatedly. Pester them until they are tired of you”

I pestered for ten years, Douglas. Put tractors on 401, organized Parliament Hill protests, blockaded Conservation Authorities, spoke, shouted, wrote, got threatened with arrest, etc. It was all for nothing. Why? Because the VAST majority of Canadians are too chicken to stand up for themselves. They’ll sign a petition, or something easy like that, but they won’t get involved in the kind of sustained protest that is needed to get things changed.

And that’s the same in Alberta as it is in Ontario. Notley has pissed all over rural Alberta and everybody pisses and moans, but that’s the extent of it.

        5. Well said. As a fellow Ontarian I heartily agree with everything you said.

      2. Agreed, the CanadIan federation is terminally ill. It needs to be euthanized.

    3. I cast the very first vote in our riding this am. If I wasted my vote I will never fucking vote again because I will have been outvoted by the terminally stupid and that will never change in the time I have left on this earth.

  2. That A-hole Fraser is a filthy Liberal. He took over McGuilty’s riding when that lying, corrupt POS fled politics.

    1. Notice how he disassociates with the Liberals by using a black sign. He knows his party is toxic. What a coward

  3. I got a call from Lead Now the other night. The caller urged me not to vote for Doug Ford. After having some fun with her, I assured her that I wouldn’t as he was not running in my riding. 😉

    1. LEAD NOW is that fu☆king George Soros tax cheating foundation registered in Canada which Harper tried to stop. They rigged Trudeau false win and will bring him back for the next three decades. They will RIG the Ontario election too !

I agree with the conservative commentators here. Some good food for thought.

  4. Seems Toronto voters, the ones that delivered Canadas first special needs pm might be just the types, that vote for more debt. I had a Toronto resident tell me that Ontario was the richest province in the country and the debt meant nothing. The medias liberal brainwashing is very effective in that sh^^hole.

  5. Fraser takes the prize for the most desperate to win at all costs. It’s all about him, he doesn’t want to go down with the party.
If I were a Liberal I wouldn’t vote for that kind of desperation.

    1. You don’t understand the Liberal mentality. The Liberals in Ontario have been unbelievably corrupt and dug the province into a fiscal black hole that threatens its survival. And even though the Liberal vote has fallen to the point where they may take only a handful of seats, 20% of the population still insists on voting Liberal. Apparently those people would vote Liberal no matter how awful the consequences.

Conservatives may also be loyal to a fault, but at least there’s a history there of turfing corrupt governments before it’s too late. (Hello, Brian Mulroney.) Ontario voters on the other hand, propped up the Chretien/Martin Liberals at the end of their reign, stubbornly refusing to throw them out despite a corruption scandal that could have thrown national unity into question yet again.

They say that people get the government they deserve. Sadly, Ontario deserves what comes next. Because no matter who gets into office, Ontario’s goose is already cooked.

  6. This has been the nastiest election I can recall. The narrative created within the liberal media brotherhood was typical, Conservatives up huge at the beginning and the the NDP gains momentum through the race. A number of prepackaged ford scandals announced near the finish line to drive momentum to the NDP. No holding to account for the irresponsible government that Wynne has led and no sharing of the disaster ours impact that a NDP government would have on the province. Nothing but a constant, union and soros funded mud slinging at Ford and any neandrathal that would vote for him in the media echo chamber. Prediction, easy Ford Majority.

    1. Woah, Robert — isn’t that a risky prediction? I have been surprised at those suggesting the Liberals may get only one riding (I assumed they meant Kathleen’s), when I was pretty sure Ottawa-Vanier would not deviate from its pattern of the last 80 years (or so.)

    2. Robert, I used to live in the Ottaw-Vanier riding (on Beechwood Ave. in Lindenlea), in the 1970s, and it was depressing to watch how heavy the Liberal vote was. I felt I was the only Conservative alive there.

I hope everyone here is voting Ford PC.

  7. They really haven’t figured it out.
No matter how they depict Ford, the majority have decided that it all pales in comparision to what ever else is on offer.
I am a one issue voter and they hate it.

    1. Don’t count on it. The idiots here were stupid enough to elect Bob Rae. That was long enough ago that people don’t remember anymore. There has also been a lot of population replacement since then.

  8. Something interesting from rural and not-so-rural Ontario around Hamilton, there are very few lawn signs this election. Not many people are willing to self-identify with a sign. Normally you see them up all over the place, in rows down the sides of the main roads. But not this time.

I guess we’ll see tonight. A Horrorwath/Wynn coalition would be doubleplus ungood.

    1. No, double epic plus good; it would be the speediest end to the most corrupt “country” on earth. I would love to see people in Toronto taking part in a cannibal apocalypse, with no power, no fossil fuels, no heating oil, just an island of corruption eating themselves to stay alive and burning looted furniture to keep warm. I would wall that of; create a Canada version of the movie ‘Escape from New York”.

Except there would be no Snake Plissken to pull anyone out of the People’s Temple northern commune of Toronto. It has avoided going full Jonestown, but eventually….

  9. What Ontario Provincial Party implemented a civil service austerity program consisting of forced unpaid holidays and wage freezes?

    1. Actually, by Jeopardy rules, you’re supposed to frame the matter as a statement, and the respondent is to answer with a question, to wit:

Statement: “This Ontario Provincial Party implemented a civil service austerity program consisting of forced unpaid holidays and wage freezes.”

Respondent’s question: “Who is Bob “I like high taxes!” Rae’s and Andrea “the rich can pay just a little more!” Horwath’s NDP?

      $500, now, Alex!

  10. If a candidate does not identify their party affilliation on their material is that not a violation of the election law’s?

Then its obvious which party it is.

  11. You must admit, the Canadian media is effective.

I find that part of me wants to see Ford lose, just to save witnessing four years of a hysterical liberal media firing their narrative into overdrive. It is ALL so predictable….. the leftist bigotry, the lying, the hate-mongering and the spinning of everything that any Ontario Conservative will say or do.

If he does win, get ready to add FDS, Ford Derangement Syndrome, to the list.

    1. I refuse to watch any CBC, CTV News. I watch BNN-Bloomberg, but today BNN showed a CTV clip summarizing the Ontario election. And the male CTV reporter went on a rant against Ford.

  12. God bless Premier Wynne, the savior of Canada. Only she can protect us from Global Warming™ and rising sea waters. Doug Ford is a dupe of Vladimir Putin, if not an outright Russian agent. Wake up, Canada!

    1. Yes,the only question is, in the FSB ranks, who is the superior, Trump or Ford? The obvious answer is Trump,TOO obvious, so it must be Ford, probably a Colonel, while Trump is a mere Major.

In a statement from FSB H/Q, “We wanted to recruit fellow Marxist Justin Trudeau, but he failed the entrance exam”.

The FSB screwed up on Trudeau, though he wouldn’t have been a very successful Agent, he might have made a very good janitor at FSB H/Q.

    1. And they do want to be the party of Pride… it’s like they mixed all the colours of paint in a bucket before making up their signs.

  13. .

(No matter who wins) …. can you imagine what an impossible task it will be to fix Ontario after all those blunder years ?

Canada has a weird electorate …. the left screws everything up …. then elect Conservatives to fix it …. then when things are going better they vote the frigging left in again

    1. It’s mostly the young that vote for socialist parties. For example, about every 20 years in BC, they elect the NDP again. The same NDP that dragged the province into massive debt and scared off industry and jobs in the mid-1970s, mid-1990s, and now last year they got in again with the help of the Greens. Young people start voting at 18, and they fall for the same tricks every time: free stuff, more “liberties,” a banishing of the “old” folks from politics. Then they put up with about eight years of NDP rule and start to realize that their paychecks are being whittled away to feed impossible and counterproductive socialist fantasies and people that don’t want to work yet who are eager to take your job away to save a tree or something.

Some wise man once said, “If a man is not a socialist by the time he is 20, he has no heart. If he is not a conservative by the time he is 40, he has no brain.”

      1. Too many women also vote on the left. They typically are driven by emotions and manipulative rhetoric — not logic.

  14. HATE … is all the leftist parties offer now. Their policies and practices have FAILED. Our healthcare isn’t LESS expensive … or improved. Iran isn’t a peaceful nation now. Venezuela is crumbling. The EU is crumbling. Energy Poverty is crushing the average citizen. Tax increases are breaking the backs of average citizens. Everything you were raised to believe is now judged to be “hateful”. Invading (not assimilating) hoards are flooding into Western nations. Christianity is mocked and reviled. Illegal aliens are walking across our borders … and even supported by our government bureaucrats. Homeless encampments are everywhere. BLM, and Antifa break our laws without fear of justice. Biological sex is fungible (which sounds like an Internet-broadcast porn act). Pedophile politicians fly off to sex islands in plain sight. Deep State bureaucrats subvert our Democracy, and boldly email each other about it.

… so ALL the FAILED leftist politicians have left to them is … HATE. SHE ran a HATE campaign … and WON the coastal elite “popular vote”. HATE. HATE. HATE. Vote leftist! Vote HATE. Embrace your HATE. HATE feeeeeels so good. Turn to the DARK side. How DARE anyone tell YOU to be positive and constructive … YOU can DO what you want. You can cast a vote for HATE. DO IT ! Put a check box next to HATE!!!!

  15. Black sign – wonder if he’s a member of the Ontario Nazi party?

  16. I had to laugh; on Global Wednesday night, a “reporter” was, well, reporting that the Ontario Conservatives were on a path to victory because, among other things, they had been endorsed by “THAT CONSERVATIVE NEWSPAPER, THE GLOBE AND MAIL”. I can only guess he’s started the dope-smoking early.

    1. Anyone who claims the G&M is “Conservative” belongs in a funny farm.

      1. I finally got around to reading the Globe snd Mail’s editorial on the election, and the corrupt newspaper endorsed nobody to lead the Ontario government. The paper is too left-wing to ever endorse the Conservatives.

  17. My polling station was the busiest I remember seeing it. It looks like there could be a big turnout to vote the liberals out. They were having some troubles with the vote counting machine. Could slow things down a bit.

  18. If I was running to lead Ontario, my only public comment, to any question would be “socialism put you where you today; either vote to change everything, or vote for more of the same”.

    1. Good point. I’d also add “is a rainbow parade, or any other LGBTQXYZ policy, gay marriage or abortion gonna fix your economy?” What’s the price of rainbows these days on the TSX? Does it get a pipeline built? What’s the price of anti Trump rhetoric, anti USA rhetoric, a trade deal, or trade hell? You get canola shipped to foreign ports with restrictive cross provincial border issues? How about oil? If not, why can Ford, GM, or Chrysler ship a vehicle to you outside of Ont or Quebec? Can I buy BC whine in Ontarioooohhhhh? Can I buy what I want at a price I want to pay for any good, or service if it costs more in my province? If you want a zero carbon society…..stop breathing. What you put into the atmosphere with every breath you take, would require the entire transportation industry to shut down, agriculture to stop producing food & definitely no meat, if we want to comply with Paris the Last Time. If you or your kids don’t want to stop breathing, vote anything other than Green, LPOC, or NDP. They WILL tax you to death.

  19. Yasir Naqvi, Fraser’s Lieberal friend, is the incumbent in my riding. I am really hoping both are turfed badly, but I have my doubts. The Liberal voters are thick in Ottawa (entitled, corrupt f*cks). Hoping the eNDP gang can split the vote because they’re not good for anything else. Fraser also has signs up that say something like “Vote For A Good Politician”. Yeah, ok f*cktard.

    1. The last Liberal seat will be Ottawa-Vanier if there is a wipe out. Not so sure, I still fear a Lib-Dip coalition.

  20. Eric Grenier now has final predictions:
    PC 78
    NDP 45
    Liberal 1
He has Ford with a 89.7% probability of winning majority government.
Several Toronto media outlets are being disingenuous in headline writing, by implying Horwath has a real chance of winning a majority. Because the polls are close they are suggesting seat counts will mirror that. I don;t believe they will.
If they don’t after a day or two look for media to complain the system is broken, that weighting of seats outside GTA are too high etc.
Granted, nothing is sure until tonight, but I will take those predictions with some satisfaction; anything else would be surprising.

  21. If the Conservatives win, it will be thanks to Liberal voters loyal to a lost cause. In a two party race, the NDP would capture the evil and brain-dead vote, likely 60% of the popular vote.

  22. I find myself torn, between rooting for the Never Done Paying to win and the accelerated cremation of Canada’s rotting corpse and for Ford nation to stomp the PC’s and then the public service unions.(to say NDP/Liberals would be redundant)
Doug can explain to the media, that lying about what you will really do in office is an Ontarian tradition, one that the voters have rewarded for decades, so “Shut up parasite”.
    “Oh and get a job.”
However I just saw that old fart Liberal Peterson on CBC, saying”Doug Ford is the least experienced person ever to win the position of Premier, this could be really bad for .. and that politics was very serious business”
    Naturally no press follow up.
    Justin Eh?
how many billion in debt Ontario?
Very serious business indeed, shame the taxpayer never gets to play.Just to pay.
The Guillotine is a massively overlooked aspect of our heritage.

    1. Peterson was on TVO along with Ernie Eaves. Peterson kept trying to slip in anyi-Conservative pot shots. I thought Eaves was much more gracious and did not attempt to dump on the other guys. He did point out that Pc’s have many experienced people on their team.

  23. This election is only “won” when Doug Ford scraps the carbon tax deal with Quebec & California. I wonder how much pressure from inside & outside of his Party there is to NOT do that? Time will tell. Should be Job One, Monday AM. If not, then Ontario & this country did not “win” this election.
