Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

I and others attended the pro-pipeline rally at the BC legislature earlier today. We serverly normal people don’t have the organization, database, social networks and foreign funding of the anti’s, so the turnout was respectable (and respectful) but not huge. There were some good speakers including a hereditary chief of I believe the Nisga’a band, who spoke of opportunities for his people, Vivian Krause who most SDA regulars will recognize as the
‘follow the money’ writer who has so deftly exposed the US foundation money and finally, a young immigrant university student who while describing herself as a progressive, shamed her fellow millennials for denying a better life for aboriginals, the poor and disadvantaged and the third world populations who would all ultimately benefit from Canada as an exporter rather than corrupt, oppressive regimes like Saudi Arabia.
There were a literal handful of anti-pipeline people, who as is their practice, showed up early saying they “just want to engage in conversation”. So we had a conversation. I asked the leader what he did for a living, whom he worked for. I was surprised at his candidness, as he simply said “I work for an environmental group” . These guys are extremely media savvy, knowing that just by showing up they can (and did) skew the media coverage so that it becomes more about them than the event itself.
I was disappointed though not surprised, by the media coverage. Despite people having come from Fort St. John, Alberta and many places on Vancouver Island (I drove two hours to be there), there was little coverage other than what media would describe as “confrontations” – the aforementioned Wilderness Committee worker who tried to convince pro-attendees that they are wrong, and a goof-ball who drove his mobility scooter up to the podium to harangue a speaker. Not a bit on the pro-energy Aboriginal chief, nor Vivian Krause as she unmasked the US foundation funding. Instead, they chose to highlight that two other unnamed ‘aboriginal chiefs’ would speak at the Kinder Morgan AGM in an attempt to warn off investors. Such is the world we live in, here in BC.
It sucks.
What a disappointment but we are facing well paid “environmental” groups that are totally organized and focused on tearing our energy sector apart. They along with politicians like Trudeau and Notley control the day as this is their job. The left are in solid with academia, the media and the politicians and have been for 50 years while we on the right focus on working and respect for our society.
Sadly, you are right.

The rabid left and NGOs will not rest until Canada becomes another Venezuela.
Someone please get Horgan to explain this:
Cries of ‘rank hypocrisy’ as disclosures reveal B.C. government pension fund invests in Kinder Morgan
The British Columbia Investment Management Corp. (BCI), which manages the pension funds for B.C.’s public sector workers, owns stakes in the Canadian oil and gas industry as well as pipeline companies Kinder Morgan Inc., Enbridge Inc. and Pembina Pipeline Corp.
Pension funds are bottom-line driven. John Horgan has to keep his NDP base happy.
“It sucks”
I’m often reminded of a comment left on a blog site by a young man who wrote it right after Trudeau’s election.
He basically stated that his side won and that we would be doing things differently for the next while, common sense or efficacy be damned. His tribe was in power.
‘Lord of the Flies’ writ large with no adult in sight who could normally take charge and end the stupidity.
I was one of the organizers. I spoke just before the UBC student. You summed it up well.
Your point about the media coverage.
Until there are politicians willing to fight the media party it will not change.
The federal conservative party attitude of “if we’re nice, they will like us ” will not work it will only slow the decline.
However, I’d rather get this over with, lets get to the bottom as quickly as possible while I’m still youngish and can help my children.
Vote for change (even if its via phoenix), vote liberal.
It’s the only way the ballot box will result in change.
For tank history geeks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1&v=G-Z2eV72iv4 a fascinating talk.

New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has resigned following the stunning New Yorker report on four women accusing him of physical violence.
One woman, who Schneiderman dated for nearly two years, claimed the former attorney general slapped her across the face violently, an assault which left her ear injured for months. Three others had similar stories about Schneiderman’s violence and abusive behavior.

I don’t think Canada’s entitled give themselves enough awards, so let me add my admiration for Canada’s most unappreciated group.
Professionals!
It’s so nice to see Accountants live up to their meek demeanor reputation by staying as silent as church mice as Businesses’ books become indecipherable(helpful for fooling the sheared), and fake, fake, fake Government numbers being the rule and not worth an eeek! To say nothing of mark to market accounting or share price discovery. Who knew an accountant could be as imposturous as a Liberal and as innumerate as the NDP.(apologies…..realize the Liberals are encroaching on NDP territory here)
Of course they may be worried about being sued by the architects of the $500,000 children’s playground. Yes, lawyers. Men of action don’t ya know. When a prominent local lawyer, in a rare moment of candor, expressed the truth that “people can’t afford lawyers” the local Legal Gaggle was roused out of their slumber long enough to say that,” Hey, if the Supreme Court can make ‘be admitted free into each of the other provinces’ ambiguous” or easily sell their Papers Please Roadblocks, then obviously, nobody..noooooooooobody cares. Silly people. Pony up the cash, your legal System becomes a Justice System. Simple.
Just don’t stress about it, as it may lead to a visit to Canada’s true heroes. The Rationed Doctor. Home of arrogance, $150 Medical Form Fees( apparently disability claimants are the hidden wealthy), and the ubiquitous ” if you don’t like it find another Doctor”, followed by a snort and a cackle. Heck, where better to meet your community than long, interminable wait room visits? The Doctors are probably protesting to the politicians as we speak. Hope they didn’t use up all their goodwill saving their Trust Funds.
Speaking of politicians, I know most wouldn’t consider them Professionals, but I do. Just can’t discuss what kind on a family blog.
I used to be a Conservative,
But I’m okay now,
Could never be a Liberal,
Not as stupid as a cow,
Nor could I be Green or NDP,
Funny enough, Math still matters to me,
I guess if I had a meme it would have to be,

Two BC indigenous leaders will go to Kinder-Morgan annual meeting in Texas to “inform” and warn shareholders of risks of proceeding with project. The Comptroller of New York State, a KM investor, will provide the proxy enabling these two to attend.
Where do these two morons think their free lunch is coming from? Boy are we screwed in this country.

Many people can’t handle the truth. They think if the organic tomaccos they buy are local, they get delivered by fartless oxen. That the bakery that makes their cheese-dick croissant gets their flour delivered by Syrian refugees on rented bicycles made entirely from hemp. And all that Made In China soon-to-break shyte they buy doesn’t come by huge diesel-powered ships crewed by third world workers who aren’t exactly getting over-paid. I hope gas hits 2 bucks a liter. I mean when the Canadian Iron Workers give all their political contributions to the NDP, you know delusion is everywhere. Have any of these guys read the Leap Manifesto? At least the Eco-fascists know they’re hypocrites. Its the ignorant, shoulder-shrugging dummies that are dragging us down. Reality and tough choices are not acceptable in the closed minds of far too many Canadians.
I guess that people will have to learn the hard way. It took the Russian people 70 years to shake off the lies of the left, and now they still have a dictator of another sort that thwarts freedom.
I doubt $2 a liter and even many more closed industries will wake people up. They are too brainwashed by the leftist press.

“Weather tragedy in Swiss Alps claims 10 lives…
Veteran Swiss meteorologist Jörg Kachelmann says 10 deaths caused by a “surprise snowstorm” had nothing to do with “climate change”, but more to do with poor human judgement and a misguided reliance on “terrible quality weather apps”.
Last weekend a group of 6 skiers were killed by a “sudden snowstorm” high in the Swiss and Italian Alps, while four other persons perished in the same storm. Read background here.”

“Two BC indigenous leaders will go to Kinder-Morgan annual meeting …”
I hold a few shares of KM myself, so I received the AGM proxy papers allowing me to have a say (yeah, right). Three of the five motions were related to climate change. The first two were to re-affirm the accounting company and to re-up the directors (of which there are too many), but the other three were obviously established by environmentalist share holders attempting to march the company towards their utopian world.
They get to have it both ways: invest some of their considerable capital into a dividend paying company, thus bolstering their own financial clout, while at the same time, acting as a fifth column to undermine the company’s own objectives. You can bet they’ll dump their shares at an opportune time so that their first objective is not impacted by their second.
The rest of us? Just collateral damage.
I can’t think of an activist shareholder proposal I’ve voted for, or could vote for. They all seem to be aimed at sabotaging the company.

“The public has a much more tightly bounded idea of what Donald Trump’s faults are, knowing the worst to as excruciating a degree of accuracy as the media and Robert Mueller can make it.
By contrast the public is only vaguely persuaded it knows even the half of what Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama did.
This explains why counterintuitively, Donald Trump can be perceived as less risky than the Special Prosecutor. ”

“Too good to be true”
“While Trump’s defects have been “priced in” to the political equation by contrast the liberal heroes are often pitched too high. The future villains, ignored or flatteringly covered by the media until the moment of their sudden exposure, prove psychologically more menacing because they were supposed to be the Good Guys. Portrayed as kindly television personalities, avuncular talk show hosts, square jawed news anchors, patrons of feminism or crusading district attorneys until exposure they fulfill the condition of betrayal and a surprise of the classic horror boogeyman.
They are the tigers who stalk us from behind, the anacondas that wait coiled in ambush from an overhead branch, or little old ladies quietly eating at a diner who turns out to be possessed.”

“Promise Kept: Donald Trump Announces Decision to Withdraw from Iran Deal”
“President Donald Trump announced his decision to withdraw from the Iran deal on Tuesday, keeping his campaign promise to end the agreement reached by former President Barack Obama.

Of B.O’ narcissist’s “deal” with Mohammed Iran:
“In fact, the Iran deal was not even a deal at all.

“And, crucially, it was never sent to the U.S. Senate for ratification.”

“Pollak: In Leaving Iran Deal, Trump Ends Obama’s Legacy of Appeasement
President Donald Trump’s announcement Tuesday that the U.S. is leaving the Iran deal marks the end of what his predecessor, Barack Obama, considered his main foreign policy legacy.
Trump will earn credit from his supporters for keeping his promise. But in truth, the Iran deal was undone by its own terms. It did not stop Iran from enriching uranium; it did not stop Iran from building a nuclear weapon, eventually; and it did not stop Iran’s global aggression.
In fact, the Iran deal was not even a deal at all.
It was never signed by any of the parties (the U.S., Iran, France, the UK, Germany, China, and Russia). It was unclear about crucial subjects like ballistic missiles, because the “deal” was described differently by the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and by the UN Security Council Resolutions that were meant to implement it. And, crucially, it was never sent to the U.S. Senate for ratification.”

Terf Wars
“For those of you who don’t know, a TERF is a “Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminist.” What this means, or is supposed to mean, is that if you are a female and do not accept the idea that a man can be a woman, in the true sense of the word, that you are an exclusionary radical. The term was apparently coined by the transgender movement and was designed to be used as a slur. This fight is becoming increasingly hostile – including violence…”

No doubt our great leader is keeping abreast of developments.
Just when you though society could get sicker along comes this. However, be careful or the human degradation commission will come after you.
Considering that we now live with a generation of idiots in most urban centers, the latest craze seems appropriate and Darwin would approve. Somehow I can’t see this happening in any country that has gone through some hard times. We really, really need either a war or a famine. Now.
