The sooner Alberta (Saskatchewan and Northern BC if they want to ) separate from Canada the better. Things under Scheer aren’t going to be much better. He will still have to govern to get votes from Eastern Canada. Like it or not, Eastern Canada calls the shots in this country, and they have no interest in anything but multiculturalism and socialism. They are too far gone to save and frankly Alberta and Saskatchewan are hanging on to western values by our fingernails.
Harper was quite likely the most conservative PM canada has had in the last 50 years and even he was forced to govern from the center.

By instituting the Firewall as proposed by PM Harper and his group of logical thinkers prior to his becoming PM, the disruption can be minimized. I don’t know if the areas outside of Alberta can by included initially, but perhaps in the longer term they will choose to come on board.
As explained in the Firewall, Alberta must take charge of the powers granted to them under the constitution and then we can advance from there.
Quebec has it’s own pension plan, why can’t any other province?
Alberta must collect it’s own personal income taxes. That severs a huge Ottawa tie for the immediate future. At that same time we can quit with the inter-provincial sharing, the equalization crap so destructive to the givers AND THE TAKERS! Get off your asses you guys out east!
Unfortunately Premier Stelmach signed a long term agreement with the RCML (Looters) but that can be renegotiated. A provincial police force will be much closer to home, if you will.
These should be just a few of the immediate moves that will allow Alberta to become more secure and free. Maybe if we allow Alberta to be a concealed carry region, (I will dispense with the term province which I have despised since my ‘Reform’ days) we will be summarily alienated from the ROC. And likely ridiculed by those same crooks. That would be to our ultimate advantage.
These moves would be a start. They would be much easier to implement and with minimal blood being expended, although they would be admittedly slower than just having a referendum.
Cutting off the oil to BC would be a Hell of a lot of FUN but would immediately (re)brand Albertans as a bunch of greedy SOBs (I would wear greedy SOB label with pride!) but at the same time may well incur some sort of military intervention. The ROC already thinks they have unfettered access to our wallets, why wouldn’t BC think they have total access to Alberta’s oil – At Their Price, of course.
The move toward independence would be uncomfortable for a period but really WHAT HAVE WE GOT TO LOOSE, and don’t we owe it to our kids and Grandkids?

I doubt this crossing the border situation will change without a change in Canadian gov’t. By then, the SCOC will have ruled (I use the word “ruled” with intent) that these folks have a new right to cross our international border, as long as they’re not carrying too much beer, cheese, milk, or eggs.
I’ve always used the Oxford comma, even though I’m not at all a fan of Oxford or really too much at all of what is in the UK these days.

Some complex sentences cannot be viewed in isolation, but when the sentence can be reformulated for clarity then it’s a different fault and it’s a fault on the part of the author.
“I saw the girl through my telescope while she was in the park.” “I was walking through the park and I saw the girl with her telescope.”
