Pulling back the curtain on the mother of all fake news;
At one point during the 2016 presidential election campaign, I watched a bunch of videos of Donald Trump rallies on YouTube. I was writing an article about his appeal to his voter base and wanted to confirm a few quotations.
Soon I noticed something peculiar. YouTube started to recommend and “autoplay” videos for me that featured white supremacist rants, Holocaust denials and other disturbing content.

It’s still going on today. If you use a new computer, don’t login to anything, and then try searching YouTube for topics of interest to conservatives – you will see all of the ultra right fringe content and personalities. They suppress reasonable conservative points of view in an effort to polarize the public against us.
Looking at the comments, I find it hilarious that if I say don’t buy sugary drinks if you don’t want them, the Lefties insist that we’re not smart enough for that and the government must regulate.
This article suggests that Google uses a computer algorithm to keep people online so that Google can make more money and the Lefties say, “Don’t watch what you don’t want to watch.”

Did you read the article? It’s basically saying, pick any subject on YouTube, and the algorithms will lead to more extreme versions and views of that subject. It has noting to do with conservatives “projecting”.
Perhaps conservatives should then be concerned with what constitutes more extreme views/versions of themselves, and confronting that evil instead of pretending that the problem is Google.
You know what would be even better? If conservatives produced something. Make a better version of Google. Try to make it not suck like Sun News did.

Nope, that’s not happening.
I googled freedom of speech in Canada – none of the results were what I’d call remotely right wing.
I googled property rights in Canada – nothing remotely fringe or ultra conservative came up.
Then I googled silly little pud-pullers – and I got Juthtin and unme.
Looks like things are working fine.
I find it VERY hard to believe that Google recommended “pro-Trump” videos in response to watching a “pro-HER” video. But THAT is the primary takeaway of this highly biased (per usual) NYT’s article. The writer is simply stretching to find an argument that “proves” Google algorithm’s are pure and unbiased. It beggars belief, and my own personal experience. Recently, I have been watching many Jordan Peterson YouTube videos … which has Google suggesting more Jordan Peterson videos. I can detect a slight “extremist” pro-Peterson bent, but I suppose Google’s algorithm could be predicting that ALL videos by Jordan Peterson are “EXTREME”. The recommended videos have been all pro-Peterson. Fine with me, but regardless of what Google Force-feeds to me … I am a skeptical reader of EVERYTHING and process EVERYTHING through my own life’s experience, reading, and training. So it doesn’t matter if Google served me a video of Peterson claiming to be the resurrection of Jesus Christ … because I would simply laugh it off. However, the supposition on the Left is that every FAKE (Russian) News story about HER smelling of sulphur is “believed” by knuckle-dragging undecided voters in flyover country. This is nothing more than an institutionalized LIE about WHY … SHE … lost. And why the pollsters were sooooooo catastrophically WRONG.
BTW … that HS kid, Hogg, who is touring the country advocating for MORE gun restrictions … is … a “crisis actor”. He is being (willingly) used by CNN and multiple Leftwing media groups to be the poster-boy for their assault on the 2nd Amendment RIGHTS of Americans. I would suggest that the kid hasn’t been back to school since the shooting. I would like to see his class-class, period-by-period, attendance record. I would like to know how he is missing so much class time … and still be considered just another HS student? So you see … despite the typical Snopes or Politifact “truth telling” and “hoax correcting” … there may also be a solid core of truth they gloss over while “debunking” the narrowly-described hoax.
