It’s Data Reassignment Therapy.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has yet again been caught exaggerating ‘global warming’ by fiddling with the raw temperature data.
This time, that data concerns the recent record-breaking cold across the northeastern U.S. which NOAA is trying to erase from history.
If you believe NOAA’s charts, there was nothing particularly unusual about this winter’s cold weather which caused sharks to freeze in the ocean and iguanas to drop out of trees.

That’s because, as Paul Homewood has discovered, NOAA has been cooking the books. Yet again – presumably for reasons more to do with ideology than meteorology – NOAA has adjusted past temperatures to look colder than they were and recent temperatures to look warmer than they were.
We’re not talking fractions of a degree, here. The adjustments amount to a whopping 3.1 degrees F. This takes us well beyond the regions of error margins or innocent mistakes and deep into the realm of fiction and political propaganda.

How about FRAUD? If these actions can be proven, this type of deliberately dishonest ‘science’ should be prosecutable.
Call them before Congress and let them perjure themselves.
Adjustments to raw data is a major issue. The standard defense is that it’s necessary and unbiased but this is less and less credible when the adjustments are always one way, increasing the warming trend. Particularly when it’s done right before summits or whenever the original data deviates from the narrative.. You can visualise the effect by thinking of a seesaw – climate scientists continually lower the low side (past data) and raise the high side (recent temps) to make the incline more dramatic.
If they were truly being honest brokers, then I think that all adjusted graphs/data should be reqired to have the origibal, unadjusted graph/data right next to it. The effect of man-made adjustments is a significant factor in man-made global warming. It’s suspicious, at best.
Regarding past data/graphs: I think the historical, unadjusted data reference point should be 1979. That’s at the end of the global cooling scare and before the global warming scare. It’s also when weather satellites went up. Satellite and weather balloon data can be used as a neutral source/control to compare the accuracy of unadjusted and adjusted data stes.
Exactly! This is outright FRAUD … which is given the name … “science” … and used to SHAME every “denier” … SHAME every “sceptic” … SHAME every … “Christian”.
It’s bad-enough when the Left re-defines “words” … but re-defining FRAUD as “science” may be the most RE-gressive thing the “progressives” have ever accomplished.
If the Trump Admin. does not clean the swamp of these scienci-poseurs in our Government Agencies, then we are doomed … because President Oprah simply LOVES junk science. She made a career and lots of $$$ pushing daytime-TV JUNK science. Which is why the average Democrap-voting dolt is a “believer” in AGW … they are Oprah’s core audience.

LC, the collection and assessment of data sucks, period. Even with new tech it is inadequate to come to the conclusions that they do. Even satellite collection is so questionable that it is not adequate for the conclusions they make. Once that is recognized a and accounted for we can move to the “adjustments” that can’t be justified, it ain’t science, it’s bullsh*t, plain and simple. I’v pointed out to you before, that because of what CO2 captures that and further effect caused by CO2 is an exercise in logarithmic math, period.
They’re looking at thermometers! How much adjustment do you need?
Or is it homogenization, for instance assuming the entire Canadian North is the same temperature as Winnipeg.
Giant swaths of land like Siberia and inside Africa have no thermometers, but surprisingly they’re getting, yup, warmer.
And the oceans. Oh well, like the sun, they’re not important, everybody knows they’re there. It’s really quite simple.
Adjust readings. Plot average world temperatures on an annual scale. Voila, warming. No? Just a second; adjust readings………
Remember a good climate scientists always rounds up … and up.

The claims of alarming information are less than the error range of the input measurements.
In any other business this would be fraud.
