Close to three dozen people will be out of work later this year when Chemours Canada Company ceases production at its Maitland site, says the union representing the workers.
“Last month, @chemours announced a new $150M plant in Delaware…”

This is an absolute fact. The firm I work for has a planning package they sell to private companies clients for owners ready to retire and either sell, or let their kids take over, and minimize taxes and other outlays during the transition. Between the carbon tax, the Morneau taxes, and Ontario minimum wage we have been deluged by business owners looking to give up and see what they can get, or move south. We have had people spending 100’s of hours creating a new planning package to offer to help businesses take their companies across the border. We don’t spend time creating plans unless we expect to make a lot of money selling it to multiple clients.
Good riddance, eh Sockboy? Don’t need those FILTHY … chemical … plants fouling the Canadian environment, now do we … now they can all be retrained to sell solar panels from some boiler room phone bank. Those COULD be high-paying jobs … if you sell between 10 & 12 systems per day.
“Didn’t they see his sox” jajajajajaj @Ezra
Meh. The unions lined up behind both McGuinty and Wynne. The unions can suck the hind teat on this one. When they clise down the Ford engine plant at Windsor, it will look good on them too.
How do I leave thee? Let me count the ways!
Electricity costs
Insane environmental legislation
Union friendly-profit killing labour laws
Crippling taxes
etc
etc
Left Ontario in 1980 for Alberta.
Soon there will closed up houses which NO one can afford. Sock Puppet with the Notley gov’t doing this in Alberta closed for business. I remember the 80’s in AB closed up houses. The Lie brals destroy all that they touch!! The Sock Puppet gov’t will soon come for our guns and land…all I can say is that I hope I am dead by then!!!

Being very familiar with Eastrn Ontario and the St. Lawrence, this is very sad. Of course, Wynne won’t give an eff. because they are not, and never will be, Liberal voters. She just needs to Wynne Torotno.
Ford Nation to the rescue!
I remain mighty surprized that Samsung’s conviction for massive bribery of foreigners to sell solar panels and swindlemills has never raised a question about why that deal by Smitherman was out of the blue and accepted without a question.
From John Denver:
Almost heaven, West Virginia
Note one sentence uttered by President Trump lat night guaranteed to leave Wynne gnashing her teeth in anger:
“…Ended the war on you beautiful clean coal”
Someone will have to turn the lights out on the last manufacturing plant departing for USA; Wynne and her cronies don’t care, real jobs are in the public sector.
Another sacrificial corpse laid at the altar of the Socialist High God Kathleen Wynne delivered on cue by the high commie priests of Unifor. The funny part is that the sacrificial lambs in this case did it voluntarily by becoming unionized and voting Liberal.
The benefit of NAFTA is you can close a unionized shop in Canada and open a non-unionized shop in a right-to-work state in the USA.
Wynneing is right. Lyn is also right that this is also Sock Boy’s and his handler butt’s fault for projecting that Canada is not open for business.
The more that close the better, maybe the voter will wake up.
“The infrastructure there exceeds what many municipalities could provide,”
ya? THATS CAUSE NOBODY’S USING IT.
why would that be???
I think wynnedfarm has OCD. obsessed with ‘green’ energy. the ‘green’ part being the BILLIONS ‘with a B’
gushing OUT of the bank accounts of citizens and business alike.
I truly have never seen such a ghastly incompetent government anywhere in Canuckistan in 50+ years.
I hope they get re-elected and kill ALL industry, commerce, initiatives etc etc and wynnedfarm chooses
the japanese traditional answer to dishonour and failure.
and another thing, with all the ‘online’ news, WHERE does it say the location? Maitland? is that the street? town? county?
??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
hey, journalist: care to say where YOUR ‘local’ is on the friggin map?
another indicator that the MSM really doesn’t ‘get it’ yet.
Somebody needs to Make Canada Great Again.
No, Canada needs to be destroyed. Every province and territory that is not Ontario and Quebec needs to leave. Leave them holding the bag, and just GTFO. The power connections need to be cut, walls need to be built, no one in or out till the last socialist in Canada dies. Make Manitoba a DMZ to protect the rest of the west from them. Newfoundland needs to cut the power line from the lower Churchill project, we need to cut the rail lines that pipe our oil east.
The Milch Cow; fed by the west, milked by Ontario and Quebec, pooping on the coast. Since the beginning, and it will never change.
Canada-2 ? I’d travel and spend $$ there !
Historybuff, the linked article is in the Recorder, a local Brockville paper. Maitland is the next town along the river, only minutes away. It wasn’t intended for national news.
I fear you may be right.
This country wants to destroy itself despite the cooler heads begging it not to.
The time for that sympathy has passed.
As Kirk said: “let them die!”
liberal business acumen, an oxymoron if there ever was one. captcha…………..vende blvd.
Yes yes yes!
But you keep Edmonton and Vancouver, right?
across the st Lawrence river from ogdensburg NY.
Does Jordan Peterson want to be Ontario’s premier? If he dropped his name it would be like a nuke hitting the politics of that province.
A common sense revolution 2.0
