  1. Perhaps Caroline Mulroney might be OK but for god’s sake keep her away from the Airbus folks and her father’s old friend, Karlheinz Schreiber.
    BCer

  2. On the plus side, maybe if the Des-Mulron-tien clan once again directly seizes control (rather than merely controlling the Boy King puppet), it won’t be just the Conservative Party of Canada that is sunk. Perhaps it’ll be the impetus for the full-on separation from its colonial masters that Western Canada so badly needs.

  3. I live in the riding into which Caroline has been parachuted in to claim her birthright entitlement.
She claims to have a long family association with Georgina, Ontario.
I don’t think the family jet flying over town a couple of times a year counts.
I’m voting Libertarian in the upcoming provincial election. At least I know that guy will never be involved in a #MeToo scandal as he’s never left his mom’s basement.

  4. The peasants will be placated by another Power Corporation baby representing them in Parliament or the Ontario legislature, and life will carry on as usual for the elite of Canada.
Western Canada needs to expel our Eastern fifth column and separate from the eastern/socialist rest of Canada. We don’t need them, they area drag on us in every way, economically and psychologically,as they constantly denigrate us as rubes and rednecks while stealing us blind.
Recent polls suggest the Liberals are ahead federally 38% LPC-31% CPC or 38%LPC-32% CPC at a different pollster.Scheer in NOT exciting the masses, even amid several scandals.
The CPC had better wise up and elect a new leader or we will have Reign #2 of Justin in 2019.
Or do it the easy way and find a woman or boy Trudeau once seduced then rejected who is still bitter enough and not starstruck by having boffed the future Prime Minister.

  5. So, one of the most qualified, knowledgeable and experienced people capable of rescuing then managing the entire province of Ontario just happens to be a Mulroney family member?
I mean, wow, what are the odds?
No problem though, we see how awesome Trudeau 2.0 has turned out.
Now, for those with Sheldon Cooper disease who missed my sarcasm…. WE DON’T NEED ANY GODDAMN FAMILY DYNASTIES IN POLITICS IN CANADA!!!

  6. The Americans have found another Kennedy to break out of the family compound. (When they worked their way through the Oprah speech afterglow). He’s pretty young, so his closet might not be so cluttered with past rapes and/or murders.

  7. That’s a totally appropriate comment dood, given the thread, 2015 ‘n all. /letterkenny out!

  8. I used to think that prior executive level leadership experience was necessary to run a multi billion dollar organization but Socks proved me wrong on that one.

  9. Worth remembering the last time the Mulroney family championed the cause of a young attractive female candidate for leader of a Conservative party. That did not turn out so well, the person abandoned the CPC to join Liberals as a Cabinet minister and prolonged the government of Paul Martin. We have seen enough of family dynastic politics thank you very much.

  10. “the divine right of kings”
The divine right of kings hasn’t been a Canadian political issue since the British conquered New France.
No, this sort of thing is common to politics anywhere: Kennedy or Bush or Clinton, Trudeau or Mulroney, the voting public only has itself to blame for abetting these kinds of dynasties.

  11. It took me a few readings to realise that what you wrote isn’t dirty. Or at least, not #MeToo dirty.
Where on Simcoe are you? Maybe I can see you, like someone once said of Russia, from my house!

  12. Seriously? What experience does she bring to the table? What does she stand for?? She wants to start out as premier of a province in trouble? Is she the liberals preferred candidate? If she has the capability she will run and gain the necessary experience to be a competent politician before running for the top seat. If she runs for the leader of the OPC she exposes herself as a shallow celebrity. We already have a shallow ditz with a famous name and good hair in high office and look at how that is turning out. Wish her well but gain experience first.

  13. Don, west of ontariowe is an NDPee shithole, and you are complaining about what. As I’v said before, and will repeat get bludy religion out of rite wing politics, and half of the problems will be gone. You can’t serve two gods on one issue, full stop!!!!

  14. Yup, you can tell by the dirt under her nails and here weather-beaten face that she’s just what is needed. Another true champion of the little folks.

  15. Sorry, I was trying to be brief
    ANNONYMOUS COWBOY, good one
Willow Beach lately has been hot, but anywhere from there to Port Bolster is our usual..

  16. Joe Kennedy III to deliver the response to the SOTU.
Famous name, young, already a third term congressman and just like the Pony he is in touch with the working man. It’s getting impossible to parody these people.
Congressman Kennedy profoundly understands the challenges facing hard-working men and women across the country,” House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said in a statement.

  17. FYI, Ontario’s Interim Conservative Leader, VIC FEDELI, has said he will NOT run for the full-time leadership. It’s shaping up to be a 2 or 3 horse race … Doug Ford, Christine Elliot and perhaps Caroline Mulroney. I can live with either of the first two but will vote Conservative regardless of their leader.

  18. William F. Buckley, a conservative icon, once said..always support the most viable conservative candidate. This is known as the Buckley Rule.
In this case, anyone running against the Liberal or NDP candidate, is by default the most viable conservative candidate.
We lose elections because we don’t support the candidate we put up because they may not be conservative enough.
For whatever reason, conservatives didn’t go the mat for Harper and we ended up with Trudeau. I wonder how many people would rethink their decision not to support Harper after seeing the mess we are in now due to a Prime Minister who is in way over his head.
    Cheers

  19. I don’t care what her last name is, or who she’s related to. If she’s a good conservative candidate and not afraid to speak truths, I’d support her. It shouldn’t matter who her father is, or if some people dislike her father.
and regarding the Ford man that looks to be running for the Conservative Party of Ontario, I’d apply the same rule to former mayor of Toronto’s relatives.
Ford’s seen as a saviour as his brother was a great guy. Caroline shouldn’t be seen as an enemy, she had no choice in who her father is/was.
    yer welcome.
and I think both Trudeau’s are separately and individually terrible leaders for Canada, each on their own merits.
    .

  20. 94,000 Instagram followers? How many of those do you suppose are real? Probably less than 1000, maybe even less than a couple of hundred.

  21. “Oh no, more gender politics from the PM”
If our Dear Leader was really prepared to walk the talk, at this very minute he’d be arranging to transfer the position of PM and party leader to one of his female cabinet members, then returning to the House of Commons as a mere MP.
    Because gender equity!
(Incidentally, in my view, any man who claims he is a feminist is essentially a liar.)

  22. “The peasants will be placated by another Power Corporation baby representing them in Parliament or the Ontario legislature, and life will carry on as usual for the elite of Canada.”
Exactly. Or otherwise also know as the Laurentian Elite. Same bunch. I may be wrong but I suspect that Caroline Mulroney is every inch a very progressive conservative and not a Margaret Thatcher.

  23. Caroline’s CV would be impressive if she had earned it. Daddy with the brown envelope built it with just this in mind. Money talks.
One of the other trust fund babies, our absolutely brilliant Fin Min Moron (Sp?) is similarly blessed with a CV courtesy of his daddy. And he’s shown us his solidarity with tax payers – he called them tax cheats!
And of course, there’s the dynasty thingy. We have all seen how swell our other infantile trust fund baby with a pedigree is doing.
