This is sort of like those green energy scams… Who can possibly complain about the government creating well-paying jobs?!
I remember sitting with a couple from Ottawa at a friends wedding. They were both extraordinarily proud of their federal gov’t jobs where “we get paid well into 6 figures for doing nothing”. They both had degrees in English.

BTW … Obama “Tweeted” daily … but his fingers never touched a keyboard. I wonder how many employees and salaries HE wasted on his partisan political Tweets ? Taxpayer $$$$
They are not private enterprise. If they do nothing, what are they communicating and to whom? They should be voted out. This is all waste, fraud and abuse. Where is the Auditor General? Who gives them the right to need more than a phone,they have computers,don’t they or are they too old fashioned now? They have over-blown egos, these thieves.

I guess the overtime was for when twitter increased the character limit from 140 – 280. But seriously, in the article a spokesidiot tries to justify 1-1/2 persons to generate 1-1/2 tweets per day? Quickly doing the math in my head that works out to 1 tweet per day per person. 140 characters per day per person. Not words, characters. !#@$#@!%!@#$$$!
Why does the health minister even need a Twitter account? It is not how most Canadians would expect to get information coming from the ministry. And how could these limited character missives possibly involve overtime? Get rid of it.
Does your Minister of Health have a “Button” … ? Like our Hawaiian Safety Officers?
Guess how small a proportion of all Twitter subscribers, which group is itself a small minority of Canadians, are actually “following” the Health Minister’s Twitter account. Because they can’t look up the Ministry’s announcements on the government’s website or watch/listen to CBC.

Kind of defeats the purpose of having a Twitter account doesn’t it? At least I know where not to look for breaking news about disease outbreaks or food recalls.
Hopefully they were full length tweets to keep the price under $3 per character.

There will be an immediate crackdown on such waste . Effective immediately a Twitter commission will be formed . As well an office with 3 employees will be formed to supervise and monster all tweets and end unauthorized overtime. They will immediately issue a directive forbidding all members of the government team from looking out the window before noon . This will provide them with something to do in the afternoon.
2 weeks or longer… to tweet something…. Jeez is everyone in the Lib. government high or what?!? What the hell is going on?!? This is worse than the money they throw away on garbage graphic design for their horrible pamphlets and other political advert trash.

No petty scheme to get a few more relatives and other such needy persons,onto the public payroll, is too much.
