Triggered! “The Last Jedi: De-Feminized Fanedit (aka The Chauvinist Cut),” the cut-down version is clearly intended to satirize the complaints about the movie’s heavy focus on Finn’s aimless sidekick, Rose (who’s referred to as “Asian chick” and “China girl), and the pink-haired admiral played by Laura Dern. Most of their scenes, along with Leia’s and Rey’s, are significantly reduced.

I never bothered watching the last two Star Wars movies or the last two Star Trek movies/series because of all the SJW nonsense.
I might just have to sit down for this one.
Just to make the joke obvious, the fight between Finn and Captain Phasma is cut down to Finn striking Phasma down with a single blow.
Reminds me of Raiders of the Lost Ark when “Indy” simply pulled out a gun after a menacing display of Muslim (my interpretation) swordsmanship. Boom. One shot, problem solved. Hell … even Obama seemed to enjoy that scene … never bringing a knife to a knife fight.
Sounds FUN. And it almost sounds as if the films Director enjoyed the “Disney Board of Director-FREE” cut of the film.
Yeah, I skipped the movie too. Basically, I just assume every movie is “it’s Hillary’s turn to be president”, and skip it unless there is evidence to the contrary.
Sounds like Star Wars has been reduced to “because; VAGINA”.
Loved the original 3 movies. Then Jar Jar Binks told me they switched to producing crap. That show was a disaster on all levels. Never watched one since.
Denninger royally body-slammed it – sounds pretty stupid…

I haven’t seen it. I’m an adult now and my taste in movies has changes since I was ten. This, however is a pretty funny review.

I don’t know if it’s just me but I’m seeing a pattern here.
I was about to post that but you beat me to it. It’s an excellent review.
So here’s another one.

And if you “believe” the content and timing of Hollywoodie’s fare was “accidentally coincidental” to pushing HER narrative … then you most likely voted for HER. And the Academy Award for Comedy goes to … HER book tour … explaining … What Happened
The Last Jedi was mediocre at best. The protagonists were so annoying I started rooting for the bad guys. Midway through I started focusing more on the music. Superbly crafted by Williams, but nothing new or inspired.
Laura Dern is the most unconvincing admiral in the history of Star Wars.
Or, Laura Dern is the most unconvincing character in the history of Star Wars.
Or, Laura Dern is the most unconvincing character in the history of movies.
As soon as she appeared, all suspension of disbelief evaporated. You instantly remember this is only a movie, and anyone can be cast to be anything.
Rose is almost as bad.
It took, what, an hour for Skywalker to train Rey to be a Jedi, whereas it took months, if not years I forgot, for Skywalker himself to be trained by Yoda.
Okay, I gave Princess Leia a break, in remembrance of Carrie Fisher, and all the better Star Wars movies past.
The last movie that my wife and I saw in the theatre was Independence Day.
We liked it but both agreed that any space-people capable of fielding interstellar space armies had earth-peoples totally outclassed.(the class of earth-people would only be different from the stone-age if you viewed it from the Earth POV)
p.s. we liked the movie. who doesn’t like to have their personally bigotry supported?
Wow they still make movies……. I haven’t seen one in years. I think I will continue to not watch them. Good for my blood pressure.
The last two decent movies I went to see were “Moon” and “Master and Commander”. A truly excellent movie doesn’t come along very often anymore that’s for sure.
Denninger royally body-slammed it
Well, he pretty much torpedoes his own credibility by evaluating it as if it’s a hard SF movie.
I agree with Scar. Star wars was dead after the holiday special of ’78. (which is worth watching for some laughs)
I sense the birth of a new movie: Forette Gump…
Any other predictions?
Saw it 5 times; which is saying a lot; considering I’ve seen Rogue One about 10 times in the theatre.
R1 is my favorite.
And #freejarjarbinks
R1 is my favorite.
SJW One?
Seriously?
Yup, I’m sometimes asked at work what I like to read (because my Sony reader/Kobo is always in my hand when I arrive for work). I reply “hard sci-fi”. When the inevitable questions about “what does that mean?” come up, I say that if the story features magic, and still works if you replace the robots with elves and dwarves, then it’s not sci-fi.
Only about half of them seem to get it.
Many of my friends get very annoyed when I point out that Babylon 5 is not hard SF, it’s Lord of the Rings with space rockets.
That said, the distinction between fantasy and SF is a fairly recent one, arising only really during the 1980’s. Prior to that authors often wrote in both genres, and the works themselves blurred the lines into nonexistence.
?
what’s a jedi?
is Alec Guiness still around?
can someone edit the entire Star Was (note the speling) franchise down to, oh, say the time length of
total commercials in a typical 1 hour TV episode?
hey, it a friggin sci fi MOVIE. oyph !!!!
