  1. Rex gets it, whereas the CBC, CTV, Global, CNN and the rest of mainstream media (and academia) is poisoned with hatred.

Conrad Black gets it as well
    http://www.conradmblack.com/1358/trump-whirlwind-year
Donald Trump was a joke until nominated, unelectable until elected, incompetent until he succeeded on most fronts, and about to be impeached until he debunked the collusion nonsense; he has had a very successful year. His enemies have been weighed in the balance and they have been found wanting. They shall have their reward.
    MERRY CHRISTMAS!

  2. A Poem for Canadians at Christmas – which is all about sharing and caring…..
    With apologies to Coleridge.
In fair Bells Cay did Aga Khan
    A stately pleasure-dome decree:
From Nassau where his chopper ran,
    With millions measureless to man,
    Down to his sunlit sea.
And twice, nay three times rang his phone,
    Begging Sophie wished to roam
His Island for a week or three,
    With hubby, friends and family,
And if it could be done for free
Well, how indebted they would be.
And Aga smiled the smile of cats
Used to handling mice and rats
And picking up his gilded pen
Wrote “Yes, please come, again, again,
    But find attached an IOU,
Due date in a month or two.”
With faces veiled and footsteps muffled
In dead of night our schemers shuffled
Up the steps and into air,
    Avoiding press and public stare
    Bahamas-bound and free of cares,
As fools at home picked up their fares.
    The IOU? T’was understood
    That in eternal gratitude,
    Sly Justin would reimburse
By taking from the public purse
    Fifty million dollars worth,
To wipe away the Aga’s curse.
These tangled webs in time ensnared
This petty sneak with wavy hair.
But stammered lies will quite suffice,
In nations filled with sheep and mice,
Where ethics matter not a whit,
    To pardon this insufferable ____.

  3. Never forget Conrad black endorsed Justin Trudeau. I lost every ounce of respect I had for him, and I admired him greatly.

  4. I also have been an admirer of Conrad Black. His decision to support Trudeau was seriously flawed. For some reason he took a dislike to Harper and lost all perspective. The Harper government was not perfect, but it was far better than what we are currently saddled with. I would now like Black to see that there is a problem, starting with the fact that the PM is not really the main person leading the country. It is so obvious that Trudeau is just a front man should be patently obvious to any thinking person.

    “Sitting Economic Ducks”
“With the biggest tax cut in decades being signed into law south of the border, the elephant is about to start doing somersaults in the bed – and if our own politicians don’t take action, the Canadian economy could end up getting squashed.
The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which was signed into law by President Donald Trump on Friday, lowers the tax rate on high income earners and expands the child tax credit for families, among other things. But the centrepiece is the single largest business tax reduction in American history, dropping the federal rate from 35 per cent to 21 per cent beginning in 2018.”

  6. Conrad converted to Roman Catholicism which might have coloured his thinking. The RC members of my family all vote Liberal, regardless of flaws in the leader.
A JOYFUL MERRY CHRISTMAS TO KATE ET AL AT SDA!

  7. “The RC members of my family all vote Liberal, regardless of flaws in the leader.”
    Perhaps they’re just metrosexual pussies.
My family is RC, including three serving members of the armed forces. Compared to some of us, you probably would fit in with Karl M. Do yourself a favour. If you would like to make conserative friends, try not to wear your bigotry on your arm.

  8. A Very Merry Christmas to Kate and all her followers here at SDA.
On a more pessimistic note we have this piece of information from France.
    https://www.thelocal.fr/20161223/france-to-mobilize-tens-of-thousands-of-police-for-christmas-weekend
I believe the last time that the French mobilized this many men for the front lines it didn’t turn out so well, the enemy walked in and took over. This time the enemy is already in so I don’t imagine things will work out well this time either.
Captcha has a Templar Cross so in keeping with the theme, Deus Vult.

    “Stalin’s tobacco preferences”
“Stalin would take two cigarettes out of a box and shred them into his pipe. Why?”
“So Stalin, as the leader of the first worker’s state was in a quandary.
If he smoked the cigarettes, he would give the wrong impression.
So he opted for the common man’s pipe, but since he couldn’t tear himself away from the flavour of the tobacco, he decided to use it to fill his pipe. Eventually, the elite origins of the tobacco were forgotten and it became indelibly associated with the man himself.”

  10. I once heard a joke about Uncle Joe.
One day, Stalin noticed that his lighter was missing. Believing it was stolen, he informed his security chief about it and demanded that the thief be found and punished.
A few days later, Stalin found the lighter in his office. He told his security chief to call off the investigation, but the chief responded, “Comrade Stalin, I can’t do that. Several people have already confessed to stealing it.”

  11. “Good Day, Comrade Shtrum”
“‘This is a bulletin from all the radio services of the Soviet Union.’
A voice unbelievably similar to the voice that had addressed the nation, the army, the entire world on July 1941, now addressed a solitary individual holding a telephone receiver.
    ‘Good day, comrade Shtrum.’
At that moment everything came together in a jumble of half-formed thoughts and feelings – triumph, a sense of weakness, fear that all this might just be some maniac playing a trick on him, pages of closely written manuscript, that endless questionnaire, the Lubyanka …
Viktor knew that his fate was now being settled. He also had a vague sense of loss, as though he had lost something peculiarly dear to him, something good and touching.
‘Good day, Iosif Vissarionovich,’ he said, astonished to hear himself pronouncing such unimaginable words on the telephone.”

  12. Black.
He is no fool so he knew precisely what he was doing and what a dimwit Trudeau is.
I suspect even he did not believe it possible that Trudeau would end up fronting a Lib majority, so it was more of a smear against Harper.
Even then it was selfish and stupid, hence my loss of respect for him.
Nothing that PM dimwit and his govt have done is remotely surprising.
I fully expected this level of criminality riding a wave of incompetence.

  15. I’m pretty sure the ones in my family – some practising, some lapsed – vote NDP, regardless of how hopeless that party’s prospects in the election overall and/or the seat in which they are voting. Except one, who is a unionized tradesman with young children. I believe he has figured it out. The rest are all female and employed directly by government or by publicly funded organisations. Because they know that capitalism, profit, and the money it produces to pay them are all evil.

  16. Imaginary or not, what’s important is if they voted against Jerusalem as designated capitol of a UN creation…and apparently the ‘taking names’ was to invite them to a ‘friendship party’. lol
    http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-12-24/nikki-haley-pranked-russian-comedians-putin-absolutely-meddled-binomo-election
Nikki Haley Pranked By Russian Comedians: “Putin Absolutely Meddled In The Binomo Election!”
In a somewhat comical and seemingly desperate follow-up to the vote which was an embarrassing and resounding affirmation of American isolation on the Israeli-Palestine issue, Haley then formally invited the 64 countries who either voted ‘against’ or abstained (or just didn’t show up) for Thursday’s UN General Assembly vote on the Jerusalem resolution to a “friendship” party (was “Binomo” on the list of invites?).

  17. So, apparently, did the government department headed by “Climate Barbie”.
OTT, a Merry Christmas to Kate, Lance, and all the followers of SDA.
