This economic policy is like socialism. It failed in the past because it wasn’t done right.
But this time, it’ll be different, right Juthtin?
Statism is about exercising political power, such as managing economies. Reality rarely enters into it. Trough dwelling elites haven’t a clue about that.
Progressivism creates the ills it purports to solve, poverty, inflation & war, then doubles down on its “solutions,” to inevitable market failure.
The attendant corruption and coercion rips apart civil society from within, but the puppet masters and their apparatchiks retain political power so all is well.
All that is required to maintain beloved political power is to project the excesses of statism on those who dare to oppose it, via an unethical media.
For further reference, see the impending giant government scandal linking Russian oligarchs, the Clinton family hungry for cash, a hushed up FBI investigation and a slimy ocean of establishment entitlees coming under the guns of the disgruntled deplorables; puffed up obfuscations await.
The only remaining question is: will the Clinton media take a knee over it? Of course they will argue Hillary’s homebrew server use is irrelevant.
But in Canada we have no Fox like media check on the statist sycophants, so Dumbo take seats from the Conservatives in Quebec in byelections.
Harper got a majority without Quebec so whatever. We’ll have to take the rest but cabin boy has a good shot at a favourable NDP/CPC Ontario vote split.
Sort of like nipping in under the Trump revolution by posing as a populist with a couple of lies about budget deficits and recessions.
We get record debt growth for a government in neither a war nor a recession. The fabricated middle class crisis of 2015 will become reality in 2020.
So, what’s our favorite oppos doing about it? Scoring “points” in the HoC? Ever since “He’s not ready” ads rolled out, I’ve yet to hear or see any effort by these boobs, other than apologize for being Conservative. Walking on eggshells, afraid of their own shadows. Really, what have they ever said that will jolt people right out of their comfort zone to make them think that what is happening won’t have a detrimental impact on their & their kid’s futures, at any level of government? If Patrick Brown is Ontariowe’s answer then Venezuela here we come.
The Cons want to get elected & FIX the problems, not dance around them even when they get elected, then they need to come clean. Tell it like it is. Identify their (our) enemies & just GD deal with it. People want leadership. They might be surprised with the results.
Nice guys finish last.
Here, a for instance for you, from the CBC no less: http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/immigration-rules-medical-inadmissibility-1.4367826
I’m sure that the CBC only put this story up because they are looking ahead to when they, personally or their kids, might have need of publicly paid, single payer, it’s against the law to seek private health care. Ontario just announced that two closed health care facilities in Tranna are going to be re-opened to the tune of $100 million to take the heat off on bed access, which seems to have been impacted for some reason all summer & they want to get ahead of the curve on an expected increase in demand that they can’t service currently…for flu season.
First off, where’s the money coming from? Where are the personnel to populate it coming from if facilities are already at capacity?
The Ontario .gov has been caught out by their Auditor “cooking the books” it seems, on power politics to the tune of $4 BILLION, spending $300,000 renovating their premier’s office, while you & your kids line up for service that isn’t there.
Head office for CBC is Tranna, I believe. What’s Patrick Brown doing? Fixing anything? Where is the guy & his Party’s focus? Bill 62 in Quebec? Not his jurisdiction.
Don’t worry, we are just as afflicted out here in fly over country. A commie at the helm & what seems to be milquetoast (Brian Jean) hopefully removed & more fire lit under the commies soon. We’re working on it. Federally, I’m not hopeful.
Well … I must admit that I am all in favor of … “taxing the rich”. Primarily, because “the rich” have been defined as those who make more than $ 108k/yr. This definition has allowed me to tell the wife that we’re RICH! We’ve finally MADE IT! Woo hoo! We’re RICH! So enjoy your damn Staycation this year! Because Air B&B trips are for the ULTRA RICH. We aren’t quite there yet … but soon, the leftist politicians will define our break-even incomes as ULTRA rich … and since we will still both be working well-into our 70’s … we are sure to get there.
Now … if I can only get the government to convince the wife that 6 inches is really 15 … cm, in the metric system. 15! Woo hoo ! And then mandate the metric system in the US.
Yes, agreed. Luckily Justin and his Grits are giving Mr Scheer lots of material to get his point about big government being neither limited nor “good.”
I like you am somewhat pessimistic because I know the lies the media will stoop to in order to tow the line for their fellow political bedwetters.
They have already started on Scheer with his “associations” with the “alt right” Rebel, by daring to hire one of their, you guessed it “alt right” types.
Then again Justin has another two years to totally screw up, so we will see; but, trying to be “more conservative” will surely fail.
Then again Justin has another two years to totally screw up
And he’ll still be re-elected with a majority in 2019. After all, Canadians truly believe that anything a Trudeau does is magic. Look how often PET was returned to office.
Ha-ha, love your comments Kenji.
They have already started on Scheer with his “associations” with the “alt right” Rebel,
That is their problem. They elect to have the media define them, with nary a push back. That’s being damned lazy. Not gonna win doing that.

You may not be able to stimulate the economy, but you can certainly increase the number of jobs in the government sector.
you can certainly increase the number of jobs in the government sector.
Bingo! After all, in a socialist/communist society, the best jobs go to member of “the party”.
But didn’t Winston know that all you need to do is to use the “sky hooks” … then it’s easy to lift the bucket you’re sitting in.
Kenji
Read “Most Secret War” by R.V. Jones and you’ll find that Churchill appreciated the role of science. So I doubt he was into “sky hooks”.
