I’m calling a loud BULL$#!T on this entire supposed ‘conversation’ with a 5-year old. Anybody who has ever spent any time around REAL 5-year olds know this is a complete fabrication. No matter how ‘gifted’ and ‘woke’, no 5-year old on earth has ever had such a conversation at breakfast. Other than some kind of major trauma (such as a death in the family) no 5-year old ever awakes with a shred of ‘guilt’ about anything, least of all guilt about something that happened / was discussed the day / week / month before. Sunday morning at breakfast my 5 year old daughter stated out of the Blue.
“Dad do I have to marry someone with white skin?”

“No you can marry anyone with any skin color” (She’s too young in my opinion to push race discussions)
“But if I marry someone with Brown skin then my babies will have brown skin and I want my babies to have white skin like me”
I was pretty blown away because my wife and I try not to discuss race/politics around our kids (although maybe we do in front of them more than we think), but the fact she was very direct about her skin colour and that she was proud of it definitely was eye opening in a good way.
