A man has been cleared of raping his wife after a judge ruled that he did not know his behaviour was criminal in Canada.
Ontario Superior Court Justice Robert Smith said prosecutors had failed to establish that the man knew it was against the law to have sex with his wife without her consent.

It does not matter if it is her vindictiveness or not. What matters is:

Whether he has raped her not. At least that is what used to matter. Apparently now in Ontario rapists can get away with rape if they think it is their right to rape. Read the judges own words:
“I find that the accused probably had sex with his wife on many occasions without her specific consent, as both he and she believed that he had the right to do so,”
He is not stating that he believes multiple rapes did not occur. On the contrary, he believes that the rapes had occur, but, since the rapist and the victim at the time did not think rape was illegal then the rapist is not guilty.

As part of cultural enrichment we’re bringing to Canada rapists who do not feel rape is a problem (that is of course unless you believe that his case is unique and other members of his alleged “culture” do not share his enthusiasm for rape).

Comparison to the cases against Cosby and Weinstein is bogus, completely false comparison, …. they don’t involve a married (and then divorced) couple. Married people have sex. It’s the foundation of marriage between a man and a woman.
She says she was raped. He says she wasn’t. There is no evidence one way or the other. The judge could rule in no other way than not guilty and still be in compliance with the ACTUAL laws. But no… you want to hang this guy out based on his gender and his culture. “She was a women and was victimized by an E V I L man, a moslem to boot.

If the subjects of the incident at trial are Warren from Toronto and Eloise who grew up in North Bay, this doesn’t even make the papers. Every Canadian man who follows current events even occasionally is aware of the number of cases just like this one where the ex wife claims abuse to obtain custody of the kids.
Just this once, the judge didn’t go along with it.
