  4. A nice graphic representation of why everything ever associated with global warming was URGENT! and had to be IMMEDIATELY! implemented. Because … eventually … the TRUTH was going to catch up with the green-ish hucksters. There is still time … to SAVE THE PLANET … from the AGW fundamentalists. Although the global warmists are rapidly running out of time.

  5. More plant food equals good. If CO2 levels go down, deserts will grow and tree-line will come down the mountains and move south in the arctic. The ice-core CO2 levels show that the general trend in CO2 levels over the last million years would render all surface life extinct (because levels would drop too low for photosynthesis) within the next couple of glaciation cycles. Mega-fauna like the dinosaurs were only possible because of the higher CO2 levels producing mega-flora.
    Needless to say, I’m not concerned about the possibility of it getting a couple of degrees warmer. Let’s enjoy the interglacial as long as we can.

  7. Heh, I just saw an article in one of what used to be a science magazine on this subject. The ‘scientists’ were attempting to discredit this very subject with various claims about why we aren’t getting greener, and even if we are it isn’t because of CO2, or even if it’s because of CO2 it’s not necessarily good. To their credit they referred to skeptics, and didn’t use the denier word

  9. The range of possibilities for climate sensitivity is huge, something like .5C to 4.5C and no one is willing to give an inch on their favorite estimate. FTR, my estimate is 1.1C because it’s the one calculated by physics without adding in any feedbacks but I wouldn’t bet money on it. Currently the satellite readings are showing .12C of warming, other datasets show more warming but the extent of retroactive adjustments make me question their accuracy. Truth is that the level of uncertainty is so huge that no one really knows what the true number is for climate sensitivity.
    If you read science history, this might remind you of the controversy and ugliness the official science establishment experienced when determining the age of the Earth. The age kept getting older and older as scientists learned more about geology. At the beginning the process no one would have believed the Earth was over 4 billion years old. The smartest scientists and the consensus ended up being quite wrong.
    The difference is that the fight over the Earth’s age had little impact for people. Climate science has serious public policy and standard of living implications. You’d think this would require climate to be more transparent to ensure it’s validity but climategate, EPA fights etc. shows that it’s the opposite, it’s more secretive. That’s why I think there needs to be a full debate like Blue Team vs Red Team.

  11. The best way to spot a scam is to look at those leading the charge. Ignore what they say. Pay attention to what they do. Do these people spend their time educating us, using less energy themselves, shedding their personal assets, devoting their money to the cause? Or do they preach to us, while spending most of their time trying to acquire more wealth? Are they rich people, getting richer, while leading the charge?
    The old joke about Jesus…would you follow Jesus if you saw him walking out of a brothel? No, at least not if he was smiling. The people leading the global warming scam are smiling all the way to the bank.

  13. The climate science establishment certainly haven’t been honest brokers. Hiding data, meddling in peer review, viciously attacking competing research/researchers, and even trying to criminalize dissent. At best it appears To be genuine concern that justifies the Noble Lie. At it’s worst it looks like religious fanaticism, zealotry. Unfortunately if scientists have exaggerated, they will fight that much harder to conceal their deception. This makes it a difficult, if not impossible, environment to allow Science and the Scientific Method to do what it does best. Climate Science desperately needs a reboot.

    squeezed into the middle of one of kathleen wynne’s solar
    panel farms.
    as about 90 percent of solar rays are not converted into
    electricity, instead being radiated back as heat, you can imagine
    how the temperature stats are being affected.

  20. You’re actually not far off. The oceans are a buffer solution. They have a massive capacity to absorb, redistribute and sequester both heat and carbon dioxide (species that grow shells for instance). Trees and other plants also remove carbon dioxide, of course. Lukewarmer scientists were surprised by the increase in global greening (see satellite data and Matt Ridley). Climate science establishment scientists also cited heat hiding in the oceans as one of the many explanations for the 21st century warming Pause, until they erased the Pause by retroactively adjusting data just before the Paris negotiations.
    It wouldn’t surprise me if one of the big reasons the previous warming projections were far too high was because climate scientists underestimated the buffering capacity of oceans and plants. The idea that Earth and the climate are not fragile and that there are benefits to mild warming is considered heresy, unfortunately.

    I never liked the Maldives, corrupt moslem infested islands that they are, and look forward to their disappearance beneath the waves. I’ve started a crossing off the days on my calendar.
