…Because I can’t believe the BS they’re spreading when they announced their leaving of the Rebel. “Editorial content??? REALLY??? I haven’t seen anything from the Rebel that would even slightly condone white supremacists and neo-nazis. If I’m wrong, someone please cite me an example or two.
Maybe it is something different. For a 100 years, there has been a long march through our institutions by socialists. I don’t know if anyone has tried to start a counter march ever. But, if I were going to start one, loudly and publicly quitting Rebel MIGHT be a way to get me ingratiated with all the correct people to start that ball rolling. Or, it is exactly what it appears to be.
I really liked what the Rebel was doing early on covering Canadian politics from a unique perspective. But that wasn’t going to pay the bills and then the Trump nomination happened and Rebel was just there, caught the zeitgeist and seemed to be as much about the US as Canada and they started getting a lot more viewers, etc. Then they were in the UK! Again, more views, more viewers, more money, but I think Ezra had lost the plot a little.
You also had too many people like Lauren Southern and Gavin Mcinness who are more about launching their own brands and little personality cults than they are about reporting, etc.
Then you started seeing people from Infowars and Prison Planet in their Twitter feeds and guys like Mike Cernovich (of every celebrity is Illuminati fame) and all-around weirdo Stefan Molyneaux popping up as well. That was when I got really nervous about the whole thing.
Hopefully he can turn it around but, sadly, the whole thing may need to be rebranded and started again.

Anything that can be rebranded as “dangerous”, or “hurtful” no longer has protection. So, re-label any speech or sentiment you do not agree with not as unpopular, BUT AS DANGEROUS.
This “you must renounce, denounce” thing; it all comes down to being an end run around freedom of speech. The entire “hate speech” thing was a Trojan from the beginning.
The most important question is never what the law is, but who is enforcing the law? Who gets to decide what is hate speech, and what is not? Who gets to decide if Google should be the target of anti-trust, or Joe the Plumber?

I hope Tucker Carlson’s depiction of Kristol’s obsession with Twitter gives Trump pause. Maybe it’s also time for Trump to lay off some of the tweeting.
As for all the conservative voices deciding not to grant interviews or deal with The Rebel Media, well, that just means voluntary muzzling.
