Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Holy hell, woman. When you send someone traffic, you send someone TRAFFIC.My hosting provider thought I was being DDoSed. - Sean McCormick
"The New York Times link to me yesterday [...] generated one-fifth of the traffic I normally get from a link from Small Dead Animals." - Kathy Shaidle
"You may be a nasty right winger, but you're not nasty all the time!" - Warren Kinsella
"Go back to collecting your welfare livelihood." - Michael E. Zilkowsky
It is always about power and control.
You’d think Suckerberg would draw some conclusion …
One conclusion could involve “p” and “wall”
What do those two squares mean? I get that on my cell phone from people in text msge exchanges. I suppose my old flip phone isn’t displaying what they think they are sending.
The conclusion is that it is close to impossible to change a huge (and need I say corrupt?) bureaucracy. It must be completely dismantling before real change can occur.
Zuckerberg would have been better off using his money to fund “charter” schools and nothing else. Of course this would have made him an enemy of powerful interests and a target of the left.
As it is, it will be seen that his “intentions” were good and that’s all that really counts…..
Help me out here folks as I don’t do Facebook.
Other than selling people’s personal and private information, where does the revenue stream come from to make Zuckerberg a billionaire?
“…selling people’s personal and private information…” That’ll do it.
It’s a thumbs up, or like symbol.
Something like 10 or 15 years ago Alberta was going to get rid of wait times in hospitals by giving a gratuitous 13 percent funding increase. The wait times got worse. That tells us that the bureaucrats have no desire to fix the problem. Why would they give up their only ammunition to pressure governments into funding increases?
Next time he has money to burn why doesn’t he just burn it and roast a hot dog or something or does his neighborhood have a bylaw against open fires.
Mark Zuckerberg for President in 2020. Because we all know you can fix everything with more money.
Steve;
In 2020 Zuckerberg and Facebook will likely have a better credit rating than the USA government. Just say’in.
Not a bad idea, just poor implementation and a failure to understand how they got there in the first place. Less money on high paid consultants, more on someone to wander through the weeds for a bit and figure out where the devils are, then plan short term fixes where smaller amounts of money would have big impacts, then go to the next level of difficulty, also don’t go down any road to that is going to require more sustained funding without any long term financing. Getting teachers who want to improve the systems can push the unions to adopt certain things, but keep in mind the unions are legally obligated to represent all their members, even the shitty ones. Getting the unions and management to agree on a standard that teachers must maintain will mean that disciplining problematic employees much easier. I known a few situations where the Shop Steward wanted to take the stupid employee out and pound them in the alley, instead having to grit their teeth and “defend” them.
Isn’t Socialism grand…the kid develops an app…now he’s a social scientist and displays the same arrogant smugness as do all the Mouthpieces of the Progressive Left….cause, you know of course … “He Knows”
Just another in a long line of total goofs
Fakebook. m’kay? FaKebook.
anyway, a textbook example of bureaucrapic fcukup of the ginormous kind. NO ‘devil’s advocating’. same as the wynnedfarm schlimazel.
sigh . . . . sign of the times folks !! it’s gonna get a helluvalot WORSE.
