  1. Paramount dodged a bullet on that dog by limiting its release. As married people (other than myself) might say, “If I wanted to hear that much bitching and complaining, I would have just stayed home.”

  2. This shows that Gore has more work to do. After all, the world is filled with people who don’t realize the truth about climate change and they need to be converted, don’t they?
    I’m being sarcastic, by the way. Personally, I hope this movie sinks out of sight without leaving a trace.

  4. I haven’t been to a movie theatre in years. I plan on keeping it that way. I have heard the blowhard gore on a few TV channels pitching his nonsense. I only listen for as long as it takes me to find the mute button. Personally I detest the sort of crap gore pushes and feel sorry for the misinformed who are utterly convinced that ‘the science is settled’ thus showing off their complete lack of understanding of science.

  5. Gore has bypassed science, he’s a human version of a manure spreader, he’s blowing it out his pie hole and the misinformed/uninformed are lapping it up. It will eventually explode, it will take a bit longer but that kind of $h!t always does.

  7. Much as I believe Al Gore would transform himself into a Shetland Pony if there was money to be made, these figures are misleading. If you check the box office reports http://www.boxofficemojo.com/weekend/chart/ you’ll see that while films #1 – 14 were playing in anywhere from 1,000 to 4,000 theatres, this film was only playing in 180. And it was earning $5000 per screen which would have placed it in the #2 position if that were the success criteria. The movie goes into wider release next week and then everybody will have a better idea of how much of the public has an interest in it.

  8. Not so sure about that. The Dark Tower was in 3,451 theatres averaging $5,651. I really wonder how many more seats would have been sold putting the Gorefest on 10 or 20 screens in a city instead of 1. My guess is not many more.

  9. I used to go to a lot of movies and I don’t go to that many any more, although I recently saw the new Planet of the Apes movie and Dunkirk.
    I think movie theaters are getting desperate because the theater I go to has installed brand new wider, reclining seats and the price of a ticket as dropped from 15 dollars to ten. I would like to go more often, but I really have no interest in the latest remake of a superhero movie.

  10. Al Gore’s previous film, ‘An Inconvenient Truth,’ cannot be shown in British schools unless students are told that it is a propaganda piece and clearly advised that nine major ‘factual’ alarmist claims in the film are not supported by science. Here’s how the Telegraph reported the story:
    “Al Gore’s environmental documentary ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ contains nine key scientific errors, a High Court judge ruled yesterday. The judge declined to ban the Academy Award-winning film from British schools, but ruled that it can only be shown with guidance notes to prevent political indoctrination.”
    Canadian schools and media outlets continue to treat the Gore film as a fact based documentary.

  11. Remember when temperatures “rise,” the balance of existence shifts from humans to microbes.
    That’s why no humans live at the equator, or that we don’t actually exist, having been killed off during the medieval warming period.
    I remember once someone who said they “knew the science” started to cite Al Gore. I laughed at him and told him to rethink his notion of science.
    He was worried about a “tipping point.” It seems big emissions Al the hypocrite has reached his tipping point, well past his best before date.
    But not before becoming a multimillionaire. He didn’t do it like Trump, building things, he did it the old fashioned way – cashing in on fear & ignorance.

    I’ve wondered why instead of extinction animals don’t swim or fly 100 miles further north. When the seas will take hundreds if not thousands of years to rise one meter, why wouldn’t 30 generations of people move before they drown?

  14. It’s fun to look at alarmist climate math.
    They claim to be able to measure global temperature to within plus or minus 0.08°C – a highly suspect assertion. However, this does not stop them from claiming that a reported temperature increase of 0.04°C (well within the margin of error) ‘smashed’ previous records.
    The same reported 0.04°C alarming record’ temperature is equivalent to the ‘climate change’ one experiences by walking down two flights of stairs. (Adiabatic lapse rate is 1.98 °C/1,000 ft): 0.04°C / 1.98°C x 1000 ft = 20.2 ft.
    With latitude, temperature varies about .6°C / 100 mi. To compensate for the record busting 0.04°C one would need to move South 6.7 mi. (0.04°C / 0.6°C x 100 mi = 6.7 mi.)
    The claim that sea levels are rising at an alarming 3.2 mm / year (also suspect) means that one needs to put one standard house brick on top of a sea wall every 18 years. (brick thickness 57 mm / 3.2 mm/yr = 17.8 yrs)

  15. I believe I am the only person on the planet who has not seen “An Inconvenient Truth”.
    At local schools they showed it repeatedly, one friend of my Son said teachers forced on his class SIX times.
    I have seen excerpts on sites that refuted it’s lies step by step,and will probably do the same with the sequel.
    I cannot imagine the mentality of a person who would actually PAY money to see this SOB’s pack of lies. More money than brains as the old timers used to say.

  16. It was shown on CBC a few years ago. The only merit I thought it had was to promote serious and reasoned discussion about the subject, even though the science presented in it was hokey at best.
    I’m afraid that I was mistaken. Not only has there been next to no dialog about it, whatever was said left little room for debate, let alone skepticism. Why? Because the “science is settled”, isn’t it?

  18. Noticed that there was a special offer that if one bought a ticket online they’d get another for free. Does climate porn have an age limit before people are allowed to watch it? If it does attract more attention, look for Soros paying for a free ticket program to pack theaters.
    Have no interest in wasting a couple of hours of my life being exposed to hysterical unscientific propaganda. I’m sure this is a widely shared opinion by the majority of people in US.
    Not having viewed the original Gore propaganda piece (and not being able to find a transcript of the item), I’ll wait until someone with more time to put towards such an effort does a piece on all of the predictions of doom made in 2007 by Gore and shows how many of them have actually come to pass. The fact that the climate doom crowd has gotten even more hysterical with the climate models they cherish getting further and further away from earthly reality is all one needs to know that climate “science” fully meets the criteria of “cargo cult science” as defined by Richard Feynman.
    The “global temperature records” so beloved by the climate pseudoscientists are total BS. I’ve been monitoring my house inside and outside temperatures with fixed temperature sensors and some USB temperature monitors I got from WattsUpWithThat.com and 6 years ago. The question I wanted to answer was what is the temperature of my yard? Of course, there are shaded areas and sun exposed areas so put the USB sensors all over the place with white shields in the sunny areas. Interestingly there were huge differences in a large yard and had mean temperatures of the portable sensors often differed by 5-10 degrees F during summer. Today I analyzed some data from my W facing sensor and compared it with one of the USB sensors in a shaded area 20′ away from the W facing sensor. There was a 4 degree F mean difference between the two sensors which made no sense as both are exposed to direct sunlight at times during the day but it was the one which has the most exposure to direct sunlight that had the lower mean temperature. That experiment convinced me that using a single point in an area of hundreds of square miles as a temperature estimate is simply asinine and would be laughed out of any research lab that practiced scientific rigor.
    Another strong indication that climate “science” has nothing to do with real science but is simply a thinly designed program by the “elites” to create uniform poverty around the world. Just think of what the state of biology would be like today if Stalin had the globalist “climate research” budget to support Lysenko.

  19. A simple example of temperature variation can be seen driving a car with a thermometer. On a 30 below morning the temperature can vary 5 or maybe 10 degrees on a short drive, especially over hills. And the warmists are telling us one year is 1/100 degree warmer than the previous year. The only numbers they know for sure are the ones they make up.

  21. I am not sure who would go to see this — true believers, maybe. Skeptics would not and the American public does not put a high priority on climate change as an issue. Also, I am pretty sure the film would not be particularly entertaining. I say it would be a flop even if it opened in more theatres.

    That exactly applies to me as well, I saw those two movies a week apart. In my case, I considered ‘Apes’ the worse waste of movie time I ever experienced(but that’s just me, it was not my cup of tea). I liked ‘Dunkirk’ though it was not a conventional depiction of a storyline.

    Gore’s propaganda is sort of testing, testing, to see how much bullshit can be thrown around without waking the population up.

  24. I have never seen Al Gore’s movies and never will. I know Gore’s views on climate: he is a fraud and ignoramus, and deleterious to science.
    “Dunkirk” was a fairly good movie – very good except that it somewhat softpedalled the destruction wrought by the German aircraft.
    Curiously, the other movie which I have recently seen is “Wonderwoman,” because I wanted to see Gal Gadot. She was apparnetly a weapons instructor with the IDF, and I thought it would be interesting to see a “Superhero” who actually knew something about combat. And of course the fact that she is beautiful didn’t hurt!!

    learn e-v-e-r-y-t-h-I-n-g about how propaganda is formulated and propa-gated’. study it. recognize it like a Ponzi scheme.
    one rule: mix in a bit of widely known truth to create a veneer of plausibility.

  27. Two thoughts…
    1) It would really hurt to be the movie that came in 16th. To finish behind that piece of crap…..
    2) Paramount did not shaft Al with the limited release. Why should they bother releasing it in more theaters? They are a business, not a charity, and this was a business decision based on predicted interest. They owe Fat Al NOTHING. They facilitated the movie being released at all, thus earning some Virtue points with the Hollywood crowd. That was all they wanted. This should have been in the advertising/branding budget, not the movie budget. Now that the virtue signalling is over, all they really want to do is cut their losses. And a wider showing will simply incur greater losses.
