After the Liberals came into power in 2015, then foreign affairs minister Stephane Dion signed off on export permits to approve the shipment of the LAVs based on an assessment that the Saudis would not use the armored vehicles against civilians but to defend Saudi Arabia from attacks from terror groups such as the Islamic State.
Saudi Arabia’s own citizens are probably trying to overthrow the government. This tends to be what happens when you do. I don’t personally care whether the Saudi government is overthrown or not, and recent history would indicate that as bad as the government is, whoever overthrows them will likely be worse. So in the end I don’t care. The more of them kill each other, the fewer will be trying to kill us. If a few Canadians can put food on the table, and a bunch of Arabs kill each other I’m having a hard time finding a down side.

I would rather they gave us $15 billion that giving it to the Chinese. So what if they kill each other. What has that got to do with us?

The height of insanity is going to the Canadian Open Golf tournament, having to line up for security which is constantly being escalated as muslims attacks increase daily. This “security” is being done by muslims with the females in hijabs so they support sharia law in my view. What could go wrong?
Terradyne has only been around since 2011,one of their former directors was also on Magna’s Board, but it’s hard to find out who and how connected they are. Googled Terradyne Board and got nothing.
Their site profile says they have 50 employees and do $25 million per year in sales. This is a vast difference between a 15 billion dollar sale to Saudi Arabia. Their armored vehicles have been sold to several police forces in Canada,including Winnipeg,just in case,I suppose. Bruce Power has also purchased the Gurkha 2 AV from Terradyne.
Perhaps someone here who is a lot better at internet research can find out the connections to the Canadian establishment,which are most assuredly there. I’d hypothesize that someone in the upper echelons of the Canadian business elite is a partner or owner of this company,and they are adept at bribing both major political Parties.

I had a friend who was an Army Vet who had served in Holland during WWII. The Canadian Army had a light armored personnel carrier that was used in the invasion. They were named a Ford T-16 Universal Carrier. Much like a LAV, they were equipped with a machine gun. My friend claimed that they rode in these small Ford V-8 powered tracked vehicles for about 100 miles, then they switched to ordinary Jeeps and other military trucks. He claimed that after the Germans had surrendered, the T-16 personnel carriers were scrapped.
