President Donald Trump announced that he had selected General John Kelly as his new chief of staff
More from Michael Walsh;
The big loser in all this, besides Priebus and the RNC, is speaker Paul Ryan, a fellow Wisconsinite and, despite outward appearances, Trump’s principal antagonist in Washington. Given the well-deserved failure of his superfluous “A Better Way” exercise in Big Government, Ryan should already be toast, and restive real conservatives in the House ought now to be plotting ways to oust him. Trump’s very public execution of Priebus ought to remind Ryan that uneasy lies the head…
Not reading much about trannies in the military today, though, are we?

Just when you thought the clown car couldn’t get and crazier.
Is there anyone this idiot won’t hire and fire?
Just sit by the phone and wait. Don’t be using your computer, in case it blocks an incoming call from the White House.
But I already have a real job with a respectable employer. Sorry Orange Chavez, you’re too late. Not available.
Chicken.
I dare you to go say what you said about Donald Trump and his Administration to his face.
Otherwise you’re all wind and noise.
This is a good read and, in light of this news, worthy of some reflection:
https://www.lrb.co.uk/v39/n15/andrew-bacevich/the-greatest-person-then-living
Nonsense … this has ALL gone according to plan. The CLOWN CAR is being driven by a brain-damaged John McCain, Pretty-boy Paul Ryan, and Jowls McConnel. The GOPe was given a chance (in Priebus) to cooperate with the American voters (in Trump we voted) … but now that they cannot even pass a “skinny” repeal of the most Communist Tax (it’s not healthcare) in the history of our nation … it’s gonna be open WAR on the GOPe from here on out. My main man, Mr. Bannon will be systematically planning the de-election campaigns of every GOPe Congressperson who fights Trump. And if Mr. Bannon has proved anything … he has proved that he can move and motivate an electorate to identify corrupt politicians and the suffering they create. McCain is lucky … he can quietly go-away and die, with the honor bestowed to War Hero’s … the rest of the GOPe will suffer violent and untimely political “suicides”.
Yep. What you said.
For the sake of the people hopefully so. McCain pulled a stunt worthy of Brutus.
I second.

FYI

Trump tried to placate the GOPe (as Kenji says), and he hired Prebius. So, after 6 mos he knows he is still fighting the GOPe, as well as the Dems and the press, and every moonbatty proggie out there (like that un-dork we have stalking the comments here). Good thing that Trumps doesn’t give 2 sweet f*cks what the press and the GOPe have to say.
Overall, his appointments are starting to have effects on the swamp. He has only been in power for 6 mos, not 6 years, and he has already changed the direction of the EPA, as well as immigration and education. From a conservative point of view he is miles ahead of that commie Obama. He has a lot of work to go to reverse the sh*t that Obama inflicted on the USA.
Canada should be so lucky as to have someone strong to come in after the Turdo and clean up the mess he will leave.
“he has already changed the direction of the EPA, as well as immigration and education.”
Citation needed. Meanwhile, Obamacare is as etched in stone as ever.
Who do you think Dwayne is UnMe? Your effing secretary? Look it up yourself.
Oh look a commenter that doesn’t understand that he who makes a claim carries the onus for backing it up. Shocking.
…and talking about cars these traitorous backstabbers in the GOP have been given the keys to the family sedan for the whole weekend but they would sooner just sit in the gd car parked in the garage with the doors and windows sealed tight and the engine running.
This is the plan? Are you delusional?
Trump planned to hire priebus and spicer and then to see them leave in six months? Do you realize that now only bannon is left in the White House who is a republican. The rest are New York democrats.
Trump is a small time business man not the vaunted executive. He is only loyal to his family. Soon he will have only lefty Ivanka and Kusher in the inner circle.
As for McCain. He is literally dead man walking. Every one knew that murkowski and Collins who are from heavy Medicaid states weren’t going to vote for the bill. (Collins has never voted for repeal) McCain became the third killer vote – but rest assured there were a half dozen including paul who were not going to let it pass and would have voted against anything passing if the vote was required.
Bannon was excluded from the Poland visit – did not write the speech BtW. I’d be surprised if he lasts to Christmas.
And what about the humiliation of a true conservative like sessions. How much longer does he last?
But then I’m sure that’s part of the “plan” too.
Face it. Trump thrives on chaos. It’s when he feels most incontrol. But he is ruining his presidency.
Of course he’s delusional. Reality just doesn’t cut it for them, so they live in fantasy.
“rest assured there were a half dozen including paul who were not going to let it pass”
What ‘it’ are we talking about here? Paul wants repeal or something close. He has supported that. He has moved against Ocare redux aka the AHCA
“a true conservative like sessions.”
If Sessions is a true conservative then conservatives should all go to hell but I knew that already. Sessions is an idiot who thinks the war on drugs is a great idea and so is civil asset forfeiture for that matter. Sessions getting slowly defenestrated by Don the Con is one of the few upsides to this sh*t show.
This is what Paul’s really all about:
https://www.google.ca/amp/amp.nationalreview.com/article/449622/rand-paul-health-care-republican-plans-repeal-replace-obamacare-principles-self-interest-ron-paul
A useless politician.
Sessions is a true conservative. You disagree on drug enforcement.
Name a more conservative senator.
So you still haven’t looked it up yourself? Stop being lazy and look it up. But no, you would rather carry on like an idiot barking on about others. Really all you are saying is that you are too lazy or too scared to look it up yourself. Don’t comment here again until you’ve done some work.
Oh look an NRO hack is upset that Rand isn’t subservient to the TEAM and decided to write a tedious article premised on disingenuous mind-reading BS.
Fact is, Rand is the best GOP senator, period. There’s none better.
As for naming a more conservative Senator than Sessions: impossible, because the term ‘conservatism’ is meaningless gibberish. If a POS like Sessions can be conservative then it’s a useless term.
“So you still haven’t looked it up yourself? Stop being lazy and look it up.”
Again, the onus is on you or whoever made the ridiculous original claim. I have better things to do than constantly spoon-feed argumentation 101 to you simpletons.
Ripping a quote: “America seems to have elected the loud-mouth, ignorant tuff guy drunk at the end of the bar in the local taproom.”
Gord.. you don’t understand the system.. the GOPe are the establishment
of corrupt so called Conservatives. They are the Crony bastards who are blocking Legislation..
The US Senate rule, under Mitch, need 60 votes to shut down the filibuster (closure) and this allows the/any Bill go to Vote where 51 passes. What fool thinks that GOPe Mitch can get 60 votes on anything..This allows the Democrats to do nothing but filibuster every bill. He is blocking all Trump Policies by using 1970 rules that do not Work..
Mitch is pretending he can deliver without the using the Democrat Nuclear Option, which is 51 votes for closure and then the simple Vote of 51 (all real votes are simple majority except an Veto Override)
The ACA would pass through the Senate if ALL the parts were included,
like buying across State lines..and 51 votes are used to get closure
BTW: It was Mitch that crippled Jeff Sessions by insisting he recuse himself.. It was the GOPe who wanted a special Prosecutor
Mitch has to go shark fishing from the Jersey Shore, or nothing will pass the Senate.
JMHO
Paul isn’t conservative. You never read the article I linked to do did you? He’s publicly a libertarian and a non-interventionist pacifist.
And you failed to name a more conservative senator.
Actually it is you who doesn’t understand the process.
1. It’s cloture not closure.
2. This was not a bill requiring 60 votes. It’s a reconciliation bill and needed only 51.
3. The Reid rule (the nuclear option) pertains to the rules in the senate for a session not an actual bill and it cannot be used for bills that are not just money-related. Thus the cross-border competition rule was not allo ed in a reconciliation bill (and Cruz’ option was going to be a fight had it got that far). That’s why Ryan was proposing a three step process – reconciliation, then a 60 vote bill.
“Paul isn’t conservative.”
If scum like Sessions is ‘conservative’, then great people like Paul should not be. Libertarianism is the only real deal in town. Are you seriously suggesting Paul is a pacifist? He voted for bombing ISIS. He’s not his dad, thank God. People, this is what happens when you get all of your information from The Weekly Standard.
And I read the stupid article. It was a tedious attempt at disingenous mind-reading. I thought Goldberg was one of the better ones, but conservatives are stupid.
The article was on point. And you know it.
Glad you agree that paul is not a conservative, but rather a libertarian. And you still haven’t named a more conservative senator. Which puts your Original assertion that sessions wasn’t a conservative into the bin.
And I’m certainly not the only one who considers paul to be a pacifist – dangerously so…

I could not understand why trump kept Prince Rebius around.
Priebus was almost the only public figure in the GOP who stood by trump as the nominee even after the sex tape came out. He fixed up the party organization in the years prior to the election and had a campaign organization that was pivotal in trump winning. The dysfunction and chaos and leaking (which hasn’t stopped since priebus left two days ago) are not his fault. And none of that is going to stop now that he’s gone.
I think the attack on Junior started this and I stress this is just a start.
Priebus was completely incompetent at his job. He should have been fired months ago. Memo to Trump. Never hire a former head of the republican party. Priebus’ predecessor was about as sharp as a brick and I suspect Priebus wasn’t any better. Personally I hope the American citizens rise up and fire all the present democrats and most of present republicans and get their country back on track.
What a ridiculous statement. You have no insider knowledge of the source of leaks within the White House. And your assertion of Priebus’s innocence flies in the face of logic. Priebus is the one Trump outsider in the WH. I challenge your assertion that the leaks won’t stop. Kelly will definitely see to it. The GOPe is dead. Every one of the GOPe’s districts will go Trump-party in the next election … or go Democrap (like their GOPe representative).
You clearly know next to nothing about the staffing of the White House. There are literally dozens of former obama people still on staff. And the leaks are continuing even today.
Kelly has nothing on his CV to show that he has the skills to deal with the political environment he is being thrown into. Let’s see what unfolds.
As for your “GOPe”, they are moderate conservatives – the ones who made up probably 60 percent of the vote for trump. And the remainder is tea party and disgruntled blue dog Dems. Alienate the moderates enough and trump will have a challenger replace him in 2020.
You can keep saying that crappy article wasn’t crappy, but it was. And you can claim Rand’s sensible foreign policy direction is pacifism all you want, but it isn’t. It is however likely the future.
I seldom respond to stupid stuff but you are an exception..
English must be your second Language, cloture is the French version of Closure and they both MEAN the same thing….BTW America is not French
British Dictionary definitions for cloture Expand
cloture
/ˈkləʊtʃə/
noun
1.
closure in the US Senate
verb
2.
(transitive) to end (debate) in the US Senate by cloture
Word Origin
C19: from French clôture, from Old French closure
Your other statements are moronic because you think Mitch MUST
give Democrats a chance to Sell their Votes by horse trading..They will not break ranks on Health Care or Taxation.
It is all Bull shit… Corrupt Power control that costs Taxpayers PORK
The Health Bill was a fraud because Mitch will not use the N-Option.. All of Mitch’s Senate process is a Fraud…He is a Fraud stalling legislation & appointments…
If they drop Mitch & his 60, and put a Health bill that is COMPLETE
with all Cost saving & features.. It would pass…The Democrats passed the ACA without one Republican Vote.. Republicans MUST Know they have to pass the replacement without a Democrat vote.. Grow TFU
Take Mitch shark fishing, or Trump may fail
JMHO
Of course there are lots of Obama’s holdovers in the WH … but the Chief of staff is tasked with controlling access and the application of personnel. It would be quite easy to isolate Obama’s people in “rubber rooms” of useless tasks … if not simply “downsize” the staff as Scaramucci suggested. Priebus was loyal to the GOPe who put him FIRST in charge of their FAILED – FAKE CONSERVATIVE party. Trump has already made MORE effective conservative changes to our Federal Govt. than a weak, feckless, GOPe have made in 16years. Nothing like TRUE conservatism to frighten the so-called “conservatives” in our legislature. Yeah … I am more than HAPPY to have a bunch of “New York liberals” school the FAKE conservatives in REAL conservatism !
sorry but the Prince was nothing like you think he was. his track record is different.
