After hearing his SecDec speak Saturday, I can see why he chose a particularly aggressive former commandant of the Marine Corps as Sec Def. Mattis said the US policy was now to encircle the terrorists in their stronghold, to ” exterminate ” them, so they could not flee and cause trouble elsewhere. The difference of night and day compared to Ovama’s appeasement.

    Something went Kaboom! People died from shrapnel wounds. What else could it be but an explosion? An explosion is an explosion. If it’s big enough to cause injury or death, there’s no mistaking it for anything else.
    In this case, it seems pretty clear that the explosion was a jihadi attack, but accidental explosions can kill and maim, too.
    I don’t know if it’s political correctness run rampant, or just the general stupidity of the media. Sometimes, it’s hard to tell.

  23. We lost eight long years and threw away success in Iraq. Not only that, but the US and the EU purposefully destabilized Libya, and almost did the same to Tunisia and Mali. In 2012, they touted their “success” in Yemen. Today, Sunnis, Shia, and AlQaeda are fighting over the wastelands in a proxy war between Iran and KSA. Iran is on its way to nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles. Erdogan is recreating the Islamic Caliphate in Turkey, with Erdogan as the totalitarian Caliph.
    The only brighter spot is that all these failures have put the fear of overthrow and death in the Saudis and Gulf States for a little while. They are even willing to (quietly and unofficially) ally with the dreaded Jews of Israel.
    The few adults have a lot to try to repair. Until the people of Europe and Canada find some adult leadership, it is only going to become worse.

    In a word, no. By virtue of their occupation, and the corresponding income they derive from it, they are insulated from the realities of the world around them.
    Their proclamations about “justice” and “equality” are simply empty phrases meant to deceive those of us who are not as fortunate as they are. Their deception is intended to fool us into thinking that they are just like us. However, their elevated, though artificially bestowed, social status clearly tells us that they’re not.
    They are clearly separated from the trials, tribulations, and miseries of those who are not like them. Therefore, they will have little awareness and not much empathy towards those who are directly affected by such incidents as they will likely never experience them.
    To paraphrase Winston Churchill, they will stumble over the truth, pick themselves up and dust themselves off, and carry on as if nothing had ever happened. Incidents such as this one simply mean that their annual income will be a bit less than before.

  36. Perhaps a solution to the problem of Islamic terrorism has already been discovered and used by Britain and America before. When Germany started bombing London in WWII and Japan bombed Pearl harbor the response by Churchill was to order a bombing raid on Berlin and Roosevelt had the Doolittle raid on Japan. I am not advocating a bombing raid on Mecca or Medina, no suppose instead of bombing in retaliation we just select by lottery a number of mosques in the afflicted countries equal to the number of victims and then raze them to the ground, similar to the Jewish solution. A state wide issued warning should be made so that the moderate Muslims understand that if they don’t rein in the jihadists then they can expect a response. Sounds extreme doesn’t it but the bottom line is that we, in the West, have been under attack for far too long, our way of life has been changed beyond recognition and now our betters are telling us that this is what to expect until we are all dead or accept Islam!
