Senator Joe McCarthy was elected twice to the US Senate, never sat in the House and so never had any workings with the HUAC.
The committee he did head was confined to government operations, he would not have been directly involved in investigating media or Hollywood.
The Trump Home land security need to do a raid on The NYT. I would guess that most are illegal Aliens from UN NGOs. Not many real Americans @ the NYT.. They are Brussels trained & conditioned Communists…The new World Order is the same as the old world order..

At the time McCarthy was a junior Senator from Wisconsin in his 2nd year and completely obscure. He was 2 years away from stumbling onto the communist in our midst bandwagon and then running away with it.
Any telling actually retelling of the convicted 10 usually includes ample fictionalization, what one would expect from Hollywood writers. The point remains McCarthy had plenty of fellow agitators during the period that bears his name; he wasn’t the first by any stretch.
