  1. He’s spot on re. Brasil. Mind you, he’s Brasilian. Great country where corruption is endemic. The only way to prevent it in government is to reduce the purview of government.

  2. Wealth “redistribution” generally works something like this:
“Hey, Mr. Moneybags, I’m poor, so let me ‘redistribute’ your wealth so that I get to be richer. The fact that you won’t be better off for it is of no concern to me–in fact, that’s the whole point. You’re not supposed to be.”
Funny, though, how it’s never rich socialists who are required to “redistribute” their money.

  3. Hmmm…..sounds like the socialist extremists that run the government of Alberta playbook.
Little bit by little bit, they are going to get there, nobody will notice until the hammer comes down.
$71 billions of debt a few years from now, by population of some 4.16 million.
You do the math, it is extremely difficult if not impossible for the socialist idiots.

  4. Of course. When all else fails, simply borrow more money.
I recall that Father of Juthtin did the same thing during the early 1970s, seriously putting Canada into hock.

  5. $18,000 debt per person Alberta
    $17,555 debt per person Canada
    $35,555 total

  6. I just love it when corrupt politicians go to jail! It’ll never happen here though-something to do with making sure that people don’t lose faith in the precious system. Can anyone ever recall a Canadian politician going to prison for corruption?

  7. How socialism has ruined Venezuela …
“Late last night, … the Venezuelan Supreme Tribunal (TSJ) announced it would assume the National Assembly’s parliamentary functions so long as the popularly elected organ remains in desacato (contempt of court).”

  8. I can’t wait until America is paying MORE in INTEREST payments than any other budget single line item … this day is rapidly arriving. Then, the brainwashed Millennials might get a HARSH dose of reality … that it isn’t “evil bankers” that demand payment … but other governments … like Communist China who INSIST on being PAID for funding American Socialism. The Millennials will all be BEGGING for plane tickets to Brazil.

  9. So how bad does it have to get in Canada before the people wake up to the destruction going on?
    UnkaCheese, don’t your breath.

  10. The tragedy is that the people who need to listen to this story either will not, or will not believe a word of it.

  11. It never ceases to amaze me. The long term record of socialism is one of failure in essentially everything it strives to achieve. And yet people continue to persist in trying it in various places all over the world. All it really seems to do is waste the sunk capital of a previous generation, resulting in severe hardship for those who end up footing the bill.
Once upon a time, long ago, I too accepted the principles of socialism. Experience with the real world over three decades slowly but surely showed me how utterly wrong it was. I suspect there will never be a time when we will ever be free of socialism. Socialism is a theory created from an ideal. Its rebuttal comes only with experience, and that’s why we will always be stuck with it.

  13. Socialism works great.
Just don’t try it on a larger scale than the traditional family.

  14. Progress of socialism as expected, as opposed to unexpected.

Are the “journalists” really surprised or are they so ignorant?
Works the same way towards failure of human existence every time without fail that it was, is and will be tried. If you think it cannot happen here, just watch.
Actually don’t just watch, do something, ain’t gonna be easy, got to be done.
Your agent has to argue with just about everybody around including sons. It is unbelievable, as in literally unbelievable, how the plebeians are taken in by the ideology. While sons were told about socialism and communism and are aware of the degenerative effect of the rotting ideologies, everywhere around them are those that think the socialism is cool, especially the “free” stuff.
People you meet, they seem to think that socialism is just fine, it is those that point out the inevitable failure that are wrong.
It is now, without any surprise, that they not only know nothing of the socialism of the past, they have virtually no idea what is happening in Venezuela.
The “journalists” like the one that let a strange baby suck on her breasts will not write about it.
If it is reported at all, it will be with preamble about terrible Trump is and it is his fault anyway. Mostly the plebeians will not notice it and read about it.
    Reading is such a drag.

  15. Or maybe a small, more or less self-contained community, such as early Christian ones (which shared all their resources equitably) or an Israeli kibbutz. But in general, it doesn’t work because, I assume, the larger the group, the less likely people are to feel the necessary bond and unity to be willing to fairly share with those others in the group.
And the emphasis on the community as opposed to the individual leads to the system’s exploitation by the unscrupulous. Which is a bit ironic considering that the individual *in general* is disempowered under socialism yet one inevitably arrives at a situation where power is concentrated in the hands of a small group of individuals who control the vast majority of the society’s resources, while milking the unfortunate majority for all they’re worth. A nice setup for this small privileged group, but a generally miserable existence for everyone else in the society. Some animals are more equal than others.

  16. The game afoot today is globalist wealth transfer: The religion of climate-change = the transfer of money from poor people in rich countries to rich people in poor countries!
We’re supposed to feel guilty about developing civilizations while people in the 3rd world would still be living as stone-age savages if we hadn’t generously shared our technology. The people in the 3rd world breed like rodents and contribute nothing useful. They can all starve to death for all I care.

  17. Politics in Brasil has become a game of charging and counter each other with corruption and throwing themselves in jail. Although, so far, few politicos have actually gone to jail while quite a few non-politicos have.

  18. How do you kill the evil bourgeoisie? Simple; grind them to dust between the millstones of taxes and inflation. Everyone from our 7xgreat grandparents to us has seen this movie many times before. Our children and their children will see it many times. Socialism is a communicable mental illness. The most virulent in the universe. It will kill everything on this planet, and there will be no survivors.

  19. Socialism, at its core, is bribery.
    It’s not only financial bribery,
    it’s also a social bribery.
    Ultimately, it over-promises and under-delivers.
