  1. I wonder if we’ll get an antifa riot once the tories elect thier man.
I look forward to smacking some commie skulls.

  2. If disbelief of the fabricated-pseudo-science of Global Warming makes me a troglodyte … then call me UG!

  3. These progressives are slightly more open and honest about their role within the institutional left than the mainstream media but are clearly trying to direct traffic down the road to serfdom.

  4. Recap – 39% electing a Liberal majority is good while 39% electing a Conservative majority is bad. Gotcha! Two (or three?) more years and people will be begging for a Conservative government. The Airhead Trudeau gets tiring? Once he legalizes weed, what’s left for his supporters to vote for?

  5. Why are you giving rabble.ca linkage and clicks?!?
Typical leftist babble: if it leads to more communism then it’s good. If not, fix it intil it does.

  6. What Karl really wants is an NDP or better yet,Green Party majority government.
I was quite surprised by many of the comments over at the aptly-named “rabble”, none of the first few supported the author’s take.

  7. “Conservative candidates have been pushing Trump-style populist buttons with increasing fervour.”
As certain as flowers follow April showers, the official line of leftists in the coming election is displayed. But wasn’t Stephen Harper the incarnation of all evil, how can he be topped? As Mark Steyn said, Once you label someone Hitler, it is hard to describe anyone else as being more evil.

  8. I suspect the Lieberals will find some excuse to delay legalization until after the next election so they can con the sheeple with more promises.

  9. One poll and the leftwing sounding board goes nuts.
It certainly suggests there is a real fear over there that the liberals are not guaranteed a majority win next go.
    Bears repeating this bit:
For liberals a minority is not a victory and the leader that doesn’t win a majority will be seen as a liability by their base.

  10. it is possible — even likely — for a party with less than 40 per cent of the popular vote to win a majority of seats in the House of Commons.
You mean, like the Liberals did?

  11. I couldnt get past the title. The stupid was too strong.
I can’t imagine a sentient being indulging in such drivel.
Wait! Notley, Wynne, Trudeau. Hmmmm. Canadians love them some drivel.

  12. gee. too bad if we wind up with some version of proportionate representation. too bad *others* with a different view are (shudder) allowed to leverage those views in parliament in the ETERNAL give -and-take of politics.
reality check: guess whut Canuckistan, we have ALREADY had minority govts where coalition is the norm. give it a couple parliaments and maybe, just *maybe* the ELECTED representatives will get it in THEIR luddite skulls it is time to LEARN TO COMPROMISE.
I am disgusted with this once great nation being run roughshod because of an archaic votin system. unless of course the orthodoxy has us return to a time when only men, and further back only land owners could vote.
migawd, imagine a cabinet populated with members from different parties. oyph.

  13. I am pretty sure legalization is coming in 2018, but I suspect pot users will hate it. Legislation will be heavy handed and costs will be high. Ultimately, I expect existing users will stick with where they get it now. The new market will be used by occasional users — with probably not enough profit to warrant all the expenses. Decriminalization is all that was needed.

  14. “COMPROMISE”
I hear that word a lot from Liberals and other SJW types. It does not mean what you think it means.
To a Liberal, “compromise” means I have to shut up and do it your way.
I have a question, Historybuff. What’s in it for me? What do I get from this compromise you suggest?
    Lower Taxes?
    Less regulation?
I get to go shooting without the cops giving me a rectal exam every year?
Maybe I can go see the doctor without waiting in a long-ass line?
No? Not on the table? Then get lost.

  15. *their* loosey goosey interpretation of a LOT of words is their business. not mine.
to answer your snarky question, what you get is less than what you demand. likewise all others involved in the compromise.
    now, lets see if this gets past the s d a filter . . . . .

  16. The point is there is no compromise with leftists. It’s agree with them or you’re a racist, sexist, bigot homophobic hitler nazi chimp hick rural retard. So it’s time to live by the same damn rules. No compromise. We win we burn it down. Repeal everything Trudeau did in the first couple of weeks and then start gutting everything else.

  17. The writer of that article, Karl Nerenberg(your reporter on the Hill, HA)is sooooo far left partisan-wise that he cannot even fathom the concept of two sides to any political story. He is no journalist, he is nothing more than a hired hit man.
Ever notice that our beloved Liberals treat those who do not drink their leftist kool-aid with the same hateful contempt many Muslims reserve for infidels? No friggin’ wonder these two intolerant groups now run together. I am half-expecting our PM to announce that any Liberal who wants to leave the party will face death.
I do, however, look forward to the day that Trudeau announces that they will cover their female MP’s in garbage bags with eye slits. What a relief that will be.
Also, I echo the feelings of many others here for not being duly warned of a link to that steaming sh*tpile called rabble.

  18. “Recap – 39% electing a Liberal majority is good while 39% electing a Conservative majority is bad.”
All based on the Liberal premise that if you support the Conservative Party you are a bad Canadian. This narrative has been around for a few elections already and seems to be becoming more strident.
Don Morris, so was I. Maybe some conservatives are beginning to fight back.

  19. The recent polling is ironic, only 18 months after Spud found himself elected with the JV team. The media was sounding like the Tories had been destroyed and had to recreate themselves.
Tories had 30% of the vote. That’s hardly destroyed, what with 39% being what it takes for a decent majority government. Lots of credible support to regroup and reform government in 2019.
Fast forward to today, and what do we have? A return to the flock, waiting for a new leader, which will only bump the numbers higher. It only takes a 10% swing and it’s happened, no surprise, thanks to a feckless, inept, incompetent LIEberal leader and his incompetent sheeple. He has no job scheme, no plan, and no hope. His middle class meme is a sham, and voters are seeing thru that big lie. That free stuff isn’t having much impact for the out of work plant worker in Morontariowe, or the oil worker in Alberia or Saskabush. Resource industry workers don’t trust Spud, and Shawn has double crossed the envirowhackos. Kismet!
Looking forward to 2019, and any of the candidates, except for the Liberal Chong, O’Leary, Leitch (sorry) or Trost. Look, I like O’Leary, as a sharp tongued commentator. I sympathize with Leitch, and on a personal level, don’t mind Trost. But the media will skewer and destroy all of them, and the sheeple that believe everything that the Corpse and Lisa Laflame says at CTV, will run away. The next leader has to be a Conservative, but has to keep their inside voice, inside!

  20. The left is panicking at the thought but it won’t happen. When push comes to shove, the left will unite behind the boy-wonder PM. It’s fun to watch the them sweat but they won’t split the vote like before, that was an anomaly.

  21. The NDP will have new leader, further left than Angry Tom. That will bleed off a lot of leftists who voted for Turd. All 4 are to the left of Che Guevara, one of Spuds heroes.

  22. I fully expect them to impose some sort of registration and licensing if one wants to smoke weed ‘legally’. Lieberals love licensing and registration, it gives them a feeling of being in control.

  23. Ever notice that our beloved Liberals treat those who do not drink their leftist kool-aid with the same hateful contempt many Muslims reserve for infidels?
In the same way that muslimes label anyone they want to hate as “infidel”, lieberals label anyone they want to hate as “racist”, “bigot”, or “whateverphobe”, then they don’t have to be tolerant. Liberals are only tolerant toward people who think like them; most people call that hypocrisy.

  24. “Think none of them could really become prime minister? Think again.”
That was one of the few things on Rabble i had ever read. That one thought above made it all worthwhile.
