2. Bean paints his pictures from a first-hand perspective. However, he adds an extra touch to them, making them unique as works of art.
   He’s sprinkled lunar dust on some of his pictures, dust that, which I recall, he recovered from his suit. Just like some artists use something like a putty knife or spatula to apply paint, he sometimes uses a rock hammer. He’s even used a lunar boot to change the texture of the paint by pressing the sole into it.
   Bean isn’t the only astronaut artist, though. Mike Collins, the Apollo 11 Command Module pilot, is one as well:
