  1. so sorry, nowflakes, there are no current or current plans for a viable replacement for transportation fuel (auto, ship, train and aircraft) oyther than hydrocarbons. Eventually, yes, no one questions the need and eventual ceation of one, but there is nothing viable now or for the near furture. luckily, we have vast rsources of hydrocarbons available, and it would be fooldh not to exploit them, especially as there is also no credible evidence that their use csuses any significnt or lasting damage to the environment. Notr the use of the word “credible”.
SO suck it up, go on, buy a muscle car, notthat your “blank ” STudies degree has landed you a job capable of paying fr it… and maybe, just maybe enjoy your life a wee little bit. maybe then the rest of us, free for a while of your whining can njoy some peace-!!

  2. Good article,a fitting tribute to an old fashioned businessman whose word was his bond. One Mel Grimes is worth two million snowflakes.
    RIP,Sir.

  3. Great story that epitomizes the success of the Canadian oilpatch; people like Mel Grimes made it happen. Thanks for sharing it.

  4. Dirty, capitalist, slave owning, female down degrading, world polluting AND warming monger. Hope he rots in H33L.
(sorry. channeling my inner leftard fem-beotch…heh)

  5. “Once, in support Estevan’s new skating arena, he donated a pumpjack for charity auction, but he told Pipeline News he regretted the attention it brought.”
Never met him, but we will miss him.

  6. Watch Rex Murphy denigrate Trudeau and Monsef for their inept bungling of the election reform issue.
THIS is how you castigate an unqualified minister, NOT by arguing over where they were born and your interpretation of international citizenship laws. Take a lesson from a master of the craft, and learn how to effectively criticize your politicians.

  7. RIP Mel Grimes!
Saskatchewan still produces pioneers that built this province. SJWs just try to tear everything down.

  8. One salutes Mel Grimes, and notes with awe his remarkable professional partnership with Paul Cheung.

  9. I spent several years selling Ampscot against Grimes HG jacks in Southern Alberta and Southern Sask in the late 90’s. Ampscot (Weatherford) couldn’t really compete with price, and Grimes service was so good it was pointless to even try to sell on that issue. Of course Weatherford, being a large company never felt it was important to better HG’s maintenance and service. I would have been happy even they had even tried to match the service.
No matter, nowadays all of us who ever worked in the oil industry are portrayed as evil and destructive persons who don’t care about Mother Gaia. This past couple of years (I also have stage 4 prostate cancer) has been the hardest time of my life. The disease is part of it, but the industry that I loved is now blackballed as an evil empire. To watch your life’s love being denigrated as evil is heartbreaking.
Good on Mel, tough, honest and decent competitor and I am sorry to hear of his passing.
