Deep Impact

2016: The year everything changed for legacy media:

“Jared understood the online world in a way the traditional media folks didn’t. He managed to assemble a presidential campaign on a shoestring using new technology and won. That’s a big deal,” says Schmidt, the Google billionaire. “Remember all those articles about how they had no money, no people, organizational structure? Well, they won, and Jared ran it.”

  1. And here I was told that ONLY the LEFTISTS were tech-savvy hipsters … just another LIE from the mirror gazing American media.

  2. Sorry, but I’m not turning off my ad-blocker just to read Forbes, and no, I’m not logging in, even with an alias. They can die in a fire…I don’t need their content that badly.

  3. Of course the writer smears Bannon. The “dogwhistle” comments about Breitbart are horrific. There is no “there” there.

  4. CTV : U.S. president-elect Donald Trump delivered his first public address since election night via social media, of course
Yeah, you know I can’t quite put my finger on the reason why Trump would do that versus hold a press conference. The article actually then goes on to demonstrate exactly why these turds are no longer relevant. Screw you media.

  5. All the “experts” are forgetting the most important part,
    THE MESSAGE
Kushner could have been Jeb’s best buddy and had access to all of the Bush Crony Money. Jeb still would have ended up with about six delegates to the nomination. If he miraculously was the nominee, Jeb would have been blown out about 350/200, despite having a Jared Kushner.
The reasons Trump was successful were his positions (illegal immigration, 2A, trade, foreign policy/ war), AND his willingness to fight, fight, fight. Jared Kushner went around the Democrats, the Media, and even the fickle GOP Establishment to get the message out, and to get the right parts of the message to the right people. If the message Jared was given to sell was the GOP Standards of “Free Trade and Amnesty,” Hillary would be President Elect.

  6. I just read the article. This morning I was ruminating why Trump was spanking the members of the press in off-the-record meeting and communicating through his YouTube channel only, so far. Perhaps Trump knows that, as of right now, the mighty pen has run out of ink. Trust in the media is at a lifetime low and I’m sure he reminded them of this. He could use other platforms to convey his messages, thus making the traditional press even more archaic, or they could play “fair” and he would let them back in, and actually help them rebuild from the disaster-of-their-own-making situation. This morning I listened to my uber liberal classical radio station play an actual quote from Trump’s YouTube video instead of the news reader just telling us in his sneery let-me-translate-this-for-you way.
Refreshing for sure. I’m interested in watching how the media relationship unfolds going forward.

  7. “Just weeks after the May fundraiser, the Trudeau Foundation and the university announced that Mr. Zhang, who is also president of the China Cultural Industry Association, and another wealthy Chinese businessman, Niu Gensheng, would donate $1-million to the University of Montreal and the Trudeau Foundation “to honour the memory and leadership” of the former prime minister, who opened diplomatic relations with China in 1970. Of the $1-million endowment, $200,000 went to the Trudeau Foundation, $50,000 will pay for the statue of the elder Mr. Trudeau, and $750,000 will fund University of Montreal Faculty of Law scholarships, which include grants for Quebec students to visit China.”

  8. As a U.S. attorney in 2005, Christie jailed Kushner’s father on tax evasion, election fraud and witness tampering charges.
Crooks to the left and crooks to the right…that’s encouraging. Helping Hillary heal by not prosecuting her…riiight. She probably knows something inconvenient…
They mention a Stalinesque purge, they have the wrong wing…think Trotsky.

  9. “Remember all those articles about how they had no money, no people, organizational structure? Well, they won, and Jared ran it.”
The credit goes to the voters for the win. Also, credit should go to the DNC, media, and Hillary Clinton for the loss.

  10. Someone should draw up a list of promises made by that billionaire and then each time he flip-flops, put a check mark beside it.

  11. We are living through a paradigm shift, a Fourth Turning, pay attention as your grandkids will be most curious.
Will Trump45 dismantle 40 years of progressive barnacles in 4 years? He certainly has the mandate. And Congress. And 33 Republican Governors (think Article V Convention). He will select the next Justice for the Supreme Court and perhaps 2 more.
Has it sunk into the legacy media yet that they have squandered their trust as a vital check on the power of government? That Jared & Steve Bannon have done an end run? That guys in their PJ’s are in fact more credible than the TV nabobs blasted by the President-Elect, off the record?
I expect Mr. Trump will yank them by their collective chain until Jan 21, and then boom, they will actually have to work their trade, to get the story.
