Anyone who chooses to look beyond the headlines, knows fully well that media outlets “bend the truth” to their point of view. This is often done through obfuscation (leaving out facts) rather than outright lying. But post-election, it has become very clear that many “journalists” have decided to discard their ethics and professionalism entirely by stating that Trump’s special advisor, Steve Bannon, is an anti-semite. This is simply the opposite of the truth!
Finally Bannon has spoken out in a feature length interview with Kimberley Strassel:
He continues: “How can you take anything seriously from a media apparatus–paid the amount of money you people are paid–that systematically missed something that was so obvious, that missed Brexit, that missed the Trump revolution? You’d have thought they’d have learned their lesson on November 8.”
Slight pause. “They clearly haven’t.”
Anti-Semitic? “Breitbart is the most pro-Israel site in the United States of America. I have Breitbart Jerusalem, which I have Aaron Klein run with about 10 reporters there. We’ve been leaders in stopping this BDS movement”–meaning boycott, divestment and sanctions–“in the United States; we’re a leader in the reporting of young Jewish students being harassed on American campuses; we’ve been a leader on reporting on the terrible plight of the Jews in Europe.” He adds that given his many Jewish partners and writers, “guys like Joel Pollak, these claims of anti-Semitism just aren’t serious. It’s a joke.”
Probably one of the most Jewish news organizations in America is accused of anti-Semitism. Bizarrely stupid. Breitbart must be spinning in his thoroughly Jewish grave.

European Jews have a long history of taking economic chances, working together as a group, and not fully fitting in with their neighbours. Groups that want to profit from spreading the believe that “the boogieman is out to get you, that’s why you’re not as successful as others” need to have outsiders that can be blamed. Blacks in the US have a cultural history of being subservient, so they’re a “natural” supporter for those who believe that their proper place is to rule. Promise them the sky but don’t deliver, they belong to us (just like in the good old days before the Republicans ruined the slavery system?) so they’ll always vote for us. Give ’em an Obama-phone and they’re taken care of for another election cycle. I don’t think it’s coincidental that he first “black” president was raised by his rich banker grandparents.

As a retiree, I take part in a discussion group once a month. At the latest one, a fellow member brought up the “anti-Semitism” of president-elect Trumps new Chief of Staff.
I pounced, asking his evidence for the claim, to which he fell back on what he had read on ‘news sites’. I was only to happy to send my discussion group companions Mr. Bannon’s CV with the recommendation they google Brietbart+anti-semitism before drawing conclusions.
I’ve also sent them Mr. Bannon’s quote.
I think it is vital that we push back without hesitation so that these ‘whack a moles’ are effectively dealt with.
A lot of what comes out of the mainstream media is Fake News.

One gets the impression that conservatives/right wingers are the only group there is which the establishment media doesn’t afford a second chance/the benefit of a doubt.
If a Muslim immigrant commits an act of terror, we are all immediately asked not to judge all muslim immigrants, but if Bannon has a story with a headline that uses the term “renegade Jew” — regardless of the context — Bannon and his entire site is smeared as anti-semitic.
At least that’s the way it appears over here where I am writing (in Germany), where Bannon and his website are routinely smeared as anti-semitic by state-funded news services (ARD, ZDF), and by implication all his readers, Trump and all Trump voters. No qualifications or mitigating circumstances whatsoever.
