  1. When you open the page at CBC.Ca, this is the headline you see.
CBC IN PERU ‘We need to think beyond the United States’: Trudeau sees trade opportunities with Latin America
When you click on the headline, it changes to:
CBC IN PERU. APEC summit: Trudeau seeks to save trade deals in Peru
    (Full story.) http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/apec-summit-lima-peru-justin-trudeau-1.3858388
Question: Why would you go to Peru to save trade deals that bring in less than one billion a year instead of looking after business in the USA where we sold 397 billon$ in 2015.
    Just thought I’d ask.

  2. Why? Because he’s his father’s son.
You may recall how Dirty Pierre had nothing but disdain and contempt for America and Americans, unless, of course, they hated their own country. Prince Potato is simply carrying on a family tradition.

  3. The UN’s “COP Gourmet” website is a convenient online site to order gourmet catering for all of your glamorous climate change receptions in exotic Marrakech. As an un-elected and un-accountable bureaucrat, you’ll want to have plenty of disposable plastic champagne goblets on-hand, for your nude drunken frolics around the hotel pool with your fellow junketeers.

  4. Why? Because if he wasn’t in Peru making sure our asparagus imports continue through the winter, then he would be obligated to be at the ClimateChange Party in Marrakesh.
If he was there, then he would be confronted with embarrassing questions about ClimateChange and his new neighbor Mr Trump, and it’s obvious he’s trying to avoid those situations.

  5. Global warming is a hoax. The president-elect says that the Climate hoax is used by the Elite to make money and cause further damage to the US economy. Trump went on to say that it was very low on the list of important issues in the world today.

Trump is putting his money where his mouth is. According to a member of his transition team, the President-elect is looking at ways to withdraw as quickly as possible from a costly global climate agreement currently being ratified in Morocco.

If you’re still inclined to believe what Al Gore has to say about global warming, please consider the fact that since he embarked on his climate change crusade, flying around the world on his private jet, his wealth has grown from $2 million in 2001 to $100 million in 2016 – largely due to investments in fake “green tech” companies and the effective embezzlement of numerous grants and loans.

  10. Other mainstream news sources besides the National Review have also been courageous enough to speak out against the global warming propaganda – even the Wall Street Journal published an op-ed piece in 2015 challenging the Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) pseudoscience being pushed by global warming proponents.
And, of course, there are the more than 31,000 American scientists (to date) who agree with Trump and have signed a petition challenging the climate change narrative – and 9,029 of them hold PhDs in their respective fields.
Many of those scientists who signed the petition were likely encouraged to speak out in favor of the truth after retired senior NASA atmospheric scientist John L. Casey revealed that solar cycles are largely responsible for warming periods on Earth – not human activity.
Many more still are likely to sign the petition and speak out against the mainstream propaganda now that Trump has indicated a major change in U.S. policy.

  11. I expect everyone read Conrad Black’s column in the National Post, but here’s the link just in case.
Lots to love in it: The Dean of Williams College offered, as my friend Roger Kimball of the New Criterion called it, a post-electoral “emetic” to her campus community: “Many (students and faculty) are feeling acutely upset, overwhelmed, and frightened this morning. Please take this opportunity to reach out to your classmates, to offer support, to be open to discussion, to be ready to listen, and to remind everyone you see on campus that our community stands ready to support all of us.” This wasn’t reaction to the attack on Pearl Harbor, the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, or 9/11, it was the aftermath of a completely orderly American presidential election, for the 54th consecutive time.

  12. it was assumed that “education” was the gateway to universal prosperity
yes, but we need far more educated plumbers, electricians, engineers, and doctors, than art history, wimminz studies, or comparative religion graduates.

  13. Many years ago there was this Readers Digest one liner
“When almost all the people in US have Ph.D.s the last plumber will make a fortune”

  14. Whatever happened to the racist guy on the TTC streetcar? I know there were no charges laid, but I’m gonna go on a limb and say the encounter was staged.
Remember a couple years ago when the CITY TV reporter confronted the idiots who said “F her right in the P”? Or the guy a month ago who is believed to have thrown the beer on the field at the Jays game? They were named and shamed.
That video made its rounds on the news and social media. It was everywhere. If this was an actual incident and given the vitriol from the left over Trump winning, wouldn’t someone, somewhere name and shame this guy?
Has hoax written all over it.

  15. Re:Proportional Representation
Anyone else see the potential for a more truthful and accurate representation of ‘far right’ sentiment in all this? Like most hare-brained ideas from the ‘government can do no wrong’ segment of society, this one may have some unintended consequences (in this case, a most welcome one!) Esp. in the face of more mass immigration, PC crap, etc etc., folks are going to react and maybe, just maybe that 18% or so will finally get their voice in Parliament, rather than have to vote Tory and hope they don’t go centrist (again!)

  16. That reminds me of the prediction that we wouldn’t be able to find a plumber to fix our toilet, however a Renaissance Art History Ph.D. working in the bathroom fixture department at MalWart can sell us a new toilet made in China available in a range of designer colors.

  17. He could just stay home and weed the garden – but then he doesn’t get to travel the world in luxury for free.

  18. John: Global Warming is not a hoax. Anthropogenic Global Warming is the hoax. Words are important. I wish that Donald Trump would place the same value on them as I do. (Say it with me, Anthropogenic …. mankind caused…)
There is little doubt that the world has warmed. Argue all you want but you won’t change my own analysis of the current state of the climate. And so far, the warming has been an improvement (…so far…). The question is now and always has been, WHY? (And the attendant question, What to do about it?)
I again point readers to the situation at both poles. I think it’s indicative. I have referenced it in previous posts so I’m not providing links. Don’t look to me for the reasons or the effects, draw your own conclusions.
And B, if you’re reading this, El Nino (~) only goes so far as an explanation…. and we’re past that.

“Campaigners have expressed “extreme disappointment” at the outcome of the United Nations climate change summit in Marrakesh, saying the nations most vulnerable to the effects of a warming planet.
While the Paris conference last year was widely regarded as a success, this was largely based on promises to tackle the problem. Marrakesh was seen as the event at which those pledges would be turned into action.”

“Fans of new television programme Planet Earth II were left disappointed after it emerged the BBC had recycled scenes of an avalanche that had been used in the series ten years ago.
The new episodes of the acclaimed nature programme returned to screens at the start of November, with David Attenborough narrating once again.
But one of the most impressive shots of a deluge of snow plummeting down a mountain face in Sunday night’s episode was later discovered to be footage used in the first series, in 2006.”
“The scene following the avalanche sequence showed a family of grizzly bears appearing to emerge from the snow before walking down the slope.”

  22. “Could (Brad) Wall, who is not in Marrakesh, be on to something?” Rex outdoes even himself with this offering:
“But regardless of what a Trump administration might do to the concert of consensus, McKenna soldiers on: The rest of the world “recognize(s) that pricing pollution is the best way to reduce emissions.”
The minister is playing semantic shuffle here. Carbon dioxide does not make smog. She is taking the lingo of the fight against pollution, which was sensible and has had demonstrable results, and using it for brush work on the different terrain of (contested) theories of imminent climatic disaster.”
Nor is “pricing pollution … the best way to reduce emissions.” The best way would be to forbid all use of fossil fuel by diktat. Or, more congenially, to ask all countries to stop all industrial activity based on the use of oil, gas and coal. This would obviously be a huge hit in China, India, Africa, Cuba — now that it is in the sunshine again  — and, of course, Canada. Though drastic, it would at least have the merit of matching in substance the fever of the hyperbolic, apocalyptic rhetoric that trails around world climate conferences.”
As ice to the fevered brow, let me offer a more contained understanding of what it means for the climate change file now that Trump will be adding Air Force One to his fleet. Brad Wall, premier of Saskatchewan, does not have McKenna’s gift for unmoored enthusiasms, but he does have a good eye for irresistible facts. His view is it “makes no sense for our federal government to push ahead with imposing a national carbon tax when our biggest trading partner — and our biggest competitor for investment and jobs — is not going to have one.”

  23. John: Global Warming is not a hoax. Anthropogenic Global Warming is the hoax.
Of course; and the sun will appear to ‘rise’ in the morning. If you have read any of my comments to SDA then you should be aware that I fully understand that the earth is naturally warming from the little ice age 300 years ago, and that nothing we’re experiencing today is unusual in the climate record.
I posted an article and like most media it refers to AGW as “Global Warming”. You’re attempting to argue with the wrong person, and shooting at the messenger. Got it now?

  24. Let’s start a push to have Trudeau appointed Secretary-General of the U.N. effective Jan. 1, 2017 or sooner. A useless organization should have a useless leader. And Canada could elect a real man or woman as PM.– Hugh Whittington

  25. Well John, guess I was to subtle for you. I was addressing the headline of the link you posted and expressing my wishes for President elect, Donald J. Trump. But if you’re unable to deal with it, well, tough shXit.
I notice you have no comments regarding what’s happening at the poles either. (pathetic looser).

  26. These people have no shame:
BOISE, Idaho — Grassroots campaigns have sprung up around the country to try to persuade members of the Electoral College to do something that has never been done in American history — deny the presidency to the clear Election Day winner.
Activists are circulating online petitions and using social media in hopes of influencing Republican electors to cast their ballots for someone other than President-elect Donald Trump and deprive him of the 270 Electoral College votes needed to become the next occupant of the White House.
