I think the MSM knew all along that Trump was going to win. They hid the mile long lineups at Republican party gatherings, they fudged the polls, they blasted the public with false news about The Don’s personal life. There was the odd poll that was correct, one was the LA Times that showed Trump ahead.
The Democrats sat on their laurels with the belief that Hillary was far ahead. On election day, they stayed home and watched their MSM heroes on TV. The Republicans got out and voted.
The results are history!

If you believe the polls know anything, which they don’t… explain how they think Obama has a 65% approval rating.. That is total nonsense conjured up because Obama is not hated personally. He is a total failure as President with an Administration of corruption & lies…Watch the number of Pardons to members of his administration..
Perhaps the pollsters would get a better idea if they asked folks if they are glad he will be gone. His personal appeal was not helpful to other candidates in any campaign at any time…The opposite result

Interesting article, but the question not explored is that perhaps they DID get their predictions on the popular vote correct, and what we are seeing is the magnitude of the ballot box stuffing that the Democrats may have been relying on to win. The observation is made that “something is not right…” with polls “…that showed support for Trump at only 1% or 0”. If you apply that logic to the results in certain concentrations of inner city vote tallies, where the Democratic vote (and often the turn out) were off the scale, there might at least be some questions to ask. Add the revelations from the Project Veritas tapes and it seems to me that this data supports the argument for a real investigation. Would also help explain why the Clinton camp had so much trouble accepting that they failed to prevail.

I love this article! That is the best article about the polling fiasco I’ve read. So much knowledge buried in there.
The best thing in there is the “herding effect” where the polling companies themselves don’t want to be too far off the “accepted norm” because they get ridiculed. The only guys who called it were the ones doing an “experiment,” as they called it. That’s a powerful force.
Also revealed, when the -entire- media goes full force for one candidate and demonizes the other, it leaves people with nowhere to go. So they -lie- to pollsters. That was a very big deal this year.

What a terrible article. The only thing that matters in “real” science is consensus. It doesn’t matter that their theories correctly predicted the outcome; THEY WENT AGAINST THE CONSENSUS! Why the fixation on popular vote after the game, when everyone knew the rules from the start?

I believe that everyone already “knows” or at least “senses” that virtually ALL statistics today are fabricated to support a partisan point of view. I cannot think of a single statistic, poll, prediction, etc. that isn’t outright FALSE and/or jury-rigged.
– The unemployment rate is less than 5%
– The last five years have been the hottest ever
– Hillary has a 12 point lead over Trump
– Two glasses of wine per night will save your life
– Marijuana smoke is safer than tobacco smoke
– The recession ended in 2009 … thank you Obama !
– Women (in equal jobs) make less $ than men
– A college graduate (in gender studies) will earn more than a plumber.
– Obama has an approval rating of 65%

Rigged polls and cheating were major factors I’m sure.
I also think a lot of traditional Democrat voters just knew Hillary was a corrupt force and she was sick or brain damaged too much and just couldn’t pull the lever for her…
Even they saw through the MSM.
Here’s a total guess but judging by the way Hillary disappeared before the debates and major appearances and her inordinate amount of down time and how shitty she looked a day ago. She was likely getting radical medical treatment to prop her up for “the show” .
Ie blood transfusions, oxygen tents, etc.

I’m dating myself, but after the 72 Summit Series, some of the Russians were arguing they scored more goals so won the series.
Then again the Russians are famous for winning battles by taking the most casualties.

As far as I am concerned, all the pollsters that used past behaviour as an indicator of future behaviour – that is, using the 2012 election as an indicator of the 2016 election – got caught in the Monte Carlo Fallacy.

polls are flawed by design. Those who design them figure that those who they poll think as the designers feel they think, which is as far from the truth as you can get. Throw in the fact that many of these pollsters are lefties, and a 2013 study showed that lefties fair poorly on empathy.

What I got from this interview is that going forward, during all meaningful state and federal elections, I will answer all incoming polling calls and tell them I am voting for the Democrat.
