  1. These polls are conducted by the same people that bleat how global warming / change will ruin our civilisations.
Not just wrong, but comprehensively wrong.
    *liars.

  2. Hi, question:
Is there a way to directly share some of Kate’s articles to Facebook? If I just paste the url into Facebook it doesn’t work out well.
    Thanks,
    Henry.

  3. I had never looked at POTUS Trumps real estate portfolio before.
    Wow indeed.
The corrupt Clinton Media tried to do a Sarah Pailin on him, didn’t work just got him more support from normal people.
The astro-soros-turf out there need to realize that if it is a revolution they are looking for , well revolutions EAT their children.
The Donald lived rent free in the media, Obama’s and Illiery heads for the last year.
Suck it up buttercups a real man is taking over and, oh yeah to quote Obama
    “Elections have consequences”
Enough bullying already you rioters are the deplorable people
    Bubba

  4. At National Newswatch this morning, there are 38 anti-Trump articles, not ONE pro-Trump article. The only vaguely positive article is one in which Kevin O’Leary says Trudeau isn’t capable of negotiating trade agreements with Trump.
The hysteria being pumped up by the media in Canada and the USA is disgraceful, and a great indicator of how badly the media is out of touch with real Canadians and Americans,by whom I mean the people who actually make the whole thing work.
If actors, news media and politicians all disappeared from the face of the Earth, we would still carry on,with US gone,THEY would be completely helpless.
They don’t get it,think they are gods in Valhalla.
It’s well past time we should kick these chattering idiots to the margins, where they deserve.

  5. Just a minute, Kate:
(A starting statement: I am very, very glad HRC lost, and I love the whining we are seeing from the MSM. So nobody accuse me of being in league with the Evil Empire.)
Trump does not build skyscrapers. Contractors build skyscrapers and architects and engineers design them. What Trump does is sell people a share of a skyscraper. He is not a businessman; he is a salesman. (Scott Adams, quoted approvingly here many times, will tell you the same.)

  6. Totally beside the point, but I REALLY like that building in your posted pic, Kate! Spectacular design.

  7. You know nothing of development … even though I AM one of the people you cite as having actually done the work … and should want to claim full credit … I know better. A developer is the mastermind and risk taker. Sure … part Carnival Barker … but also master financier, Visionary, Number cruncher, Buyer, Manager, Economist, Market Researcher … and most of all … LEADER. Trump is an unquestionable LEADER. And trust me … a successful LEADER of a disperate, complex, and fractious project … is nothing short of a miracle

  8. Good grief. Now we are getting our share of fear mongering here in german speaking Europe too. And to distract us from the fact that Trump won, we are getting aggressively pushed to Eco-cars, recycle, wear more clothes instead of heating our homes…. I believe it’s an illness, the break-out was immediately after the election. And by the way: Germany wants to reduce its CO2 output by 80-90% by 2050! They will be the good ones. Freezing, starving thrown back to living like in medieval times -but it will be only for them that the world hasn’t exploded. LMAO
Cheers from depressed looking Switzerland. 🙂

  9. Well, Jim, you’re right. Donald J. Trump is a salesman. He is also a visionary who looks for opportunity, finds it and takes advantage of it. The funding for the building in the photo? Trump arranged it. Betcha he, or someone who works with him, chose the architect. Probably the contractor too.
D.J. Trump is what I would expect an effective President of any organization to be. A person with the skills to organize others into achieving their goals.

  10. Trump Tower is one AWFUL, BANAL, and unimaginative skyscraper. So much for NYC’s Design Review Commission. They must have all received shiny new automobiles in their driveways.
But Trump as a LEADER and DOer ? Unquestioned success

  11. “Trump Tower is one AWFUL, BANAL, and unimaginative skyscraper.”
What? Are you booked in for cataract surgery?
    It looks neat.

  12. I’d like to point out that America is moving from a president that said “You didn’t build that!” to a president that has built an empire. As other comments have explained above I’m only going to throw my two cents in. For any project to succeed someone has to come up with a vision and a plan, these must be accompanied with the desire and will to see everything through to completion. Maybe that is why Trump resonated with average American blue-collar workers scattered through-out America who have been hauling the load for the last eight years and have seen little or no benefit. They don’t want much, they’re generally quite happy to work and raise a family under the protection of a Constitution that has brought relative prosperity to those of a similar mindset for the last two hundred years. Producers and workers all need a vision of where they want to go, they don’t need someone telling them “You didn’t build that!”

  13. OH Brother,
    Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim!
It takes VISIONARIES to get these things done, like TRUMP.
Every top of the heap leader, fits that.
    Gates
    Jobs
    Musk (Even with his subsidies)
    Bezos
    Ford (just a small sample)
Get the idea? These things don’t get done, without the visionary, the champion, the leader, who despite the criticism of armchair experts everywhere, still gets things done!

  14. Scott Adams keeps impressing me with his columns and blog essays.
Clearly, he identifies the mental breakdowns of the lunatic left, mostly the young, who clearly do not have the life skills to cope with situations that they either can’t comprehend or refuse to deal with conflict. Snowflake syndrome.
Who to blame? Their own leaders, teachers, parents, Demo politicians, progressive mouthpieces, who sold them all a Bill of Goods, a construct, a narrative, a yarn to fill their little hate box in their little heads.
They’ve taken small truths, and exaggerated them beyond the pale.
He calls Rosie O’Donnell a pig (rightly so), therefore, he hates all women.
He wants to stop illegal immigration, therefore he is a racist pig and a Klan member, the lynchings shall be commencing.
He wants to install his own head of the EPA, therefore he hates the earth and wants to kill people with pollution (!)
I caught the start of Alan Colmes (ugh) on FOX radio yesterday, and his first caller was from the United States of Earth……………….Colmes wouldn’t cut him off until his third utterance of this nonsense. Comical actually.
Will the youthful progressives realize they have led down the garden path of lies and fantasy by Bernie, ObaMao, LIEawatha, and the rest of the liars of progressia? Time will tell. In the meantime, enjoy the meltdowns on Youtube and elsewhere, its pretty awe inspiring to see how much emotional investment these snowflakes had in Hitlery

  15. The funny thing about your list Dan is that the living ones were all against Trump’s election.
I had forgotten that some Saudi prince now owns FOX. The same prince who gave the Clinton’s $20 million.

  16. Like I said about six months ago,
Trump might lose, but he won’t get beaten. He outworked the crook. He refused to allow the Democrats and their lying allies in the media to demonize him.

  17. A monolithic glass tower with a serrated edge (more corner offices … whoopee, ugh.). Hmmm. monolithic curtain wall. flat surfaces. monotone color. Dark and foreboding. 90 deg. angles everywhere (no other degrees allowed). Some shrubbery sprouting from cutback lower floors ? meh.
The eyes are fine. As is the “taste”
Some examples of more interesting, visually-pleasing skyscrapers

  18. I just saw a film titled: Captain Fantastic. don’t ask me why … it seemed like something my wife would watch, that didn’t have explosions, gun battles, superheroes, or fasers. What a vile pile of leftist Hollywooden imaginary tripe. It’s a self-indulgent, make-believe, back-to-earth, communal, hippie, alt. lifestyle pile of crap. about some anti-establishment bozo who teaches his kids to worship Noam Chomsky. The whole film … Noam Chomsky, Noam Chomsky, Noam Chomsky. Per usual, the film mocked Christianity repeatedly as suited only for brain-dead conformists. Of course ALL his blonde (and beautiful natural red-haired) children were EXPERTS on every topic and could articulate all the orthodoxy of anti-establishmentarianism with his 4 year old using words like “fealty”. Because they all READ BOOKS … and don’t go to organized school. And then, his dead wife (who of course took her own life, on her own terms) is cremated (not body burial like the CHRIS-tyans wanted), and they flush her ashes down the toilet at the Vancouver Airport – per her final wishes. Talk about your nihilistic, fatalistic, meaningless life.
But this film PERFECTLY embodies the “belief” system of the leftists infecting Hollywood and infesting our government. The worship of Noam Chomsky as though his brand of personal anarchy is somehow “evolved” beyond the chains of organized religion and societal constraints is the cornerstone of the snowflake (emphasis on flake) generation. Raised by these same wannabe Hippies who still envision “sticking it to the man”, and “tearing it all down maaaaann” and living in some unattainable utopia where your little family of 6 lives in the isolation of 10,000 acres of virgin forest. Geeze. MAYBE they could find that kind of isolation in Saskatchewan … but they wouldn’t survive the first winter. This film reminded me of WHO these people are … and frankly … they most closely resemble their DEAD mother who took her own life and got flushed down a public toilet. Because she struggled with Bipolar disorder and couldn’t quite keep her thoughts straight. Somehow SHE was the perfect metaphor for the average disturbed leftist in our country today.

  19. “The men who build sentences believe the man who builds skyscrapers…”
    Wham!
That’s why I’m in love with Kate. She’s my idea of an intellectual. Sharp. Incisive. Lays them bare like a filleting knife.

  20. Beautiful ! Thanks for the … “you didn’t build that” … reminder. What a horrifying thing for a sitting president to say. God knows what other VILE thoughts and beliefs rattle-around in that Socialist skull of his.
Although, you DO know that Trump had to obtain multiple government approvals, reviews, permits, and inspections … so Obama would STILL say … “Trump didn’t build that”. The NYC plan check dept. built that.
    Gawd I HATE Socialists

  21. Chomsky taught the leftists how to use the media as a propaganda tool for progressive change. He developed the concept of ‘manufactured consent’ where
“mass communication media … are effective and powerful ideological institutions that carry out a system-supportive propaganda function, by reliance on market forces, internalized assumptions, and self-censorship, and without overt coercion, by means of the propaganda model of communication.”
Chomsky predicted the movement that created a Trump presidency On 19 April 2010.
“The United States is extremely lucky that no honest, charismatic figure has arisen. Every charismatic figure is such an obvious crook that he destroys himself, like McCarthy or Nixon or the evangelist preachers. If somebody comes along who is charismatic and honest this country is in real trouble because of the frustration, disillusionment, the justified anger and the absence of any coherent response. What are people supposed to think if someone says ‘I have got an answer, we have an enemy’? There it was the Jews. Here it will be the illegal immigrants and the blacks. We will be told that white males are a persecuted minority. We will be told we have to defend ourselves and the honor of the nation. Military force will be exalted. People will be beaten up. This could become an overwhelming force. And if it happens it will be more dangerous than Germany. The United States is the world power. Germany was powerful but had more powerful antagonists. I don’t think all this is very far away. If the polls are accurate it is not the Republicans but the right-wing Republicans, the crazed Republicans, who will sweep the next election.”

  22. Trump does build skyscrapers. A car salesperson sells the vehicle, but the dealership owner had to buy it first. Trump places his ‘skin in the game’. He hires the individuals. Should the project go bust, they lose their jobs. Trump loses his investment. Unless one owns a business, one will never understand the difference.
I just finished a house. A contractor actually finished it, but he moves on to the next project. I, on the other hand, must make the payments, ensure the quality remains intact, and take the responsibility for aspects of this property.

  23. I should know better than to do a drive-by here ;o)
Time to clarify. I never said the owner doesn’t deserve credit for all he does to get financing, find the right people, and drive the bus. And I certainly never said that the investor with skin in the game, the risk taker, doesn’t have it all hanging out when he puts his money in.
But Kenji, BJ, Walter — is Trump that guy?
Maybe before: a string of insolvencies must mean he had some of his own capital in his buildings back in the day. But since falling in love with his face on the tube? Not so much, I think. Today the business model is to do it with other people’s money and lend — er, rent — the light of his countenance to the building. No skin in that game.
Walter — you think the contractor just walks away at the end of the job, that he’s taken no risk with his capital? A lot of contractors would be surprised to hear that. I know, Deplorable Dan, that I’m just an “armchair expert”, never been on a construction site, but I vaguely recall someplace dusty and muddy where a tower crane was going up and guys in footing trenches used to say, “I’m here, ain’t I?” when asked if they were financially committed to the job. Builders take financial (and physical) risk whenever they take on a job.
I’m glad he won. I’m glad the Great and Good got their noses tweaked. I’m glad Hilary doesn’t get the chance to stack the Supreme Court with intolerant atheists and progressives. But don’t ask me to respect Trump for being something he’s not any more.

  24. Indeed, CT, very insightful in that.
Gates and Jobs are past their prime. (Yeah, Jobs is beyond that even!) Gates’ politics are much like Bezos and Musk, crony capitalists and elitists, tell those little peons how they should live.
They forgot who they were, before a big corporation, before they owned anything, and were just grateful for a warm meal and roof over their heads.
