In the US millions have become disillusioned by one sided media push to get Hillary Clinton elected, the corruption of the FBI and the Justice Dept to keep her out of jail, and the blatant political bias of the IRS. With European Governments mistrusted and fighting in the streets in the US, there is one forthcoming financial issue that could be the death blow for trust in Government institutions and the media. The big question, when millions no longer trust the democratic institution, what comes next?

An interesting and thought provoking tape. Unsaid within it but at the back of my mind is that although the Progs like to use law enforcement as stormtroopers to silence, disarm, and arrest or kill those who disagree with them too strongly (which is how I know some view Ruby Ridge, Waco, and the more recent Department of the Interior actions), the Progs have to remember that the same flyover country that is supporting Trump because he’s not a politician is also where the overwhelming majority of the military is drawn from. If a general from a big city tried to order a Tienanmen Square in the US against a Tea Party type group I suspect it is more likely that the general would be fragged than that there would be a firefight between the two groups.
Though I know I could be wrong. To paraphrase, “The tree of Liberty must regulary be watered with the blood of patriots”. Fortunately, the author was wrong about how often that would need to be done. But the founders would look at current tax rates and the EPA regulating the air that we breath, and would probably think that a redo was needed now because the US government is more onerous now than the British were then.
The economy will collapse in many places as trust collapses.
Hungry or thirsty people with hungry kids will get desperate quick.
Then it will get ugly. There is a reason why I live in the exurbs.
We’d be lucky if the “next” was restricted to only tar, feathers, and pitchforks.
I agree.
“The big question, when millions no longer trust the democratic institution, what comes next?”
I believe that the US is a political powder keg as is much of Europe. All it takes is the right spark such as major food shortage or energy availability crisis. Our society is no more immune to a revolt than has any previous society in history.
Canadians have been too brainwashed by the media and educational system and have become sheeple or Elois. Trudeau lies like a rug and it is ho hum.
Okay, *that* was funny.
I will have a full tank of gas on Nov 9th, no need to wait for the institutions of America to decide if the new President elect can issue a lawful order…..If the answer is NO… the constitution falls
JMHO
The only thing about democracy that is better than other forms of government is the peaceful and lawful overthrow of the government at regular intervals. When a significant proportion of the electorate don’t believe they are getting that opportunity, they will still overthrow the government, maybe not at the regular interval, certainly not peacefully and lawfully.
When the system has been working so long that no one involved remembers it not working, how it works gets forgotten, and then it stops working.
If that many Americans believe the lame stream media, we deserve a catastrophic event.
The deathblow for the MSM won’t happen soon in Canada with 50% of journalists already working for CBC, and the rest whining that they need to be subsidized as an essential service. That essential service being information, although disinformation being accurate
What’s next? Attempts by the state to force people into trusting them, then it falls apart.
We’ll be fighting in the streets
With our children at our feet
And the morals that we worshipped will be gone,
And the men who spurred us on, sit in judgement of all wrong, they decide and the shotgun sings the song.
Trump is *NOT* a “main party candidate”; he is a movement candidate and a big “Fvck You” to the uniparty that has ruled far to long.
To call him a “main party candidate” is a slur, or at the very least, profoundly misunderstand what is really going on.
He is the giant middle-finger to the uniparty and all of us here know it.
That’s why we love him.
President Obama has been the NRA guns and ammo salesman of the year for eight straight years. So somebody knows what is coming. Canada needs a wall, tall and strong, patrolled by killer drones. There are many scenarios where invading Canada would be easier than defending say Minnesota ?
I have permanently turned to OAN News. It’s the ONLY network that broadcasts the rebel alliance. That’s what we are here in the “minority” conservative movement. We are the rebels, the radicals. We are the freedom fighters. We are the free speech movement. We are everything the 1960’s radicals were. The 60’s radicals have become the fat stock, cozy in their keep. Comfortably numb with power. We are the rebels. We are the ones who will eventually drop a bomb thru their minarets … straight into the exhaust port spewing the cultural waste of the left’s depravity. The MSM has become nothing more than a circle jerk of effeminate men who asphyxiate each other as their only means of getting off. IF … they manage to successfully sell a feminine pronoun into the presidency … it will be their last transaction. The MSM has chosen the form of the Destroyer … by admiring their own reflection for far too long.
What comes next?
US trust in government now at 29%, according to Micheal Campbell financial show that’s playing right now on the radio.
Trust in the military at 79%.
Hmm. This in a country that’s trending toward becoming a banana republic where the military will be the agency to restore order.
Was in Seattle university district the night Obama got elected.
Went up to university district where two police cars were lined up on all four quadrants (eight in total) and the mob was firing off fireworks and throwing things at the police.
And this was a crowd who wanted to get Obama elected, apparently taking it as a signal to challenge the authorities.
I don’t envision armed resistance but something more like an Irish Democracy with an obdurate, uncooperative population, and a grey economy. The “Takers” won’t respond til this all bites them in the pocketbook. In the meanwhile, they control the grid, the energy, the communications, No? Detection technologies and counter measure technologies (like say to an IED) are continuing to evolve.
It was last February I realized that something was afoot when Trump drew 7000+ energized people to an arena in the Dem dominated city of Lowell Massachusetts. That same evening Bill Clinton drew fewer than 70 to a desultory rally, not too far away in NH. That made me wonder what in the world is going on. I realized that we are witnessing a realignment: the Middle pushing back against the “Takers at the Top” and the “Takers at the Bottom”.
I don’t know if Trump intended to do this or if he got caught up in the wave of alienated and disaffected Americans. I don’t know who is using who; if Trump is using the Middle, or if the Middle is using Trump. I think it might be a mistake to think this election is ALL about Trump, granted few could have stood up to the onslaught and he could self fund. The other candidates were ham strung because to have funding they had to sell out to the Globalists and the Financialist Paymasters; so the self funding was key.
Whatever we think personally of Trump, we ought to be forever grateful at how he pulled back the curtain and held up a mirror to the entire crony capitalist class, and they are legion, not just the pols but including pundits, lobbyists, consultants, academia, media (basically the deceivers), whether he meant to or not. I didn’t start out as a Trump fan, but I did vigorously defend the Trump supporters, who do seem to cross a lot of demographic lines: Indies, working Dems, middle class minorities, small business owners and tradesmen. Many have been left out of whatever passes for a recovery despite all the Happy Talk about how much better off they are. They aren’t, and they know it, despite their betters trotting out all their statistics. There is no political figure, on the horizon, that doesn’t offer more of the same.
It’s understandable that Conservatives are disappointed that Trumpsters aren’t preoccupied by the Constitution. But, these abstractions don’t mean much without stable, grow the pie, meaningful employment and a FUTURE for their children. These are the people who volunteer to clean up their local roads, attend Little League, they want to work and contribute; they aren’t interested in subsidies and handouts or they would have voted for the Bernie cargo cult. I can’t explain how Trump became their champion; I suspect that there is a lot of projection involved, like there was with Obama. They are perfectly well aware that Trump is often cringeworthy and a blowhard. They have no one else. Whatever comes of the Trump candidacy, I can’t unsee the casual bigotry and malice expressed toward regular working people and the deliberate misrepresentation of their motives.
Who has anything to do with the MSM anymore? Once I discovered SDA, it was my primary news site and now have added Zero Hedge and related sites as my primary source of information. Haven’t read a newspaper since before 2010 and in 2010, at Nassim Taleb’s suggestion embodied in The Black Swan, totally cut myself off from any conventional news source. As Taleb puts it, most news is simply noise and, after cutting oneself off, if somethings important enough, someone will tell you about it. Of course a lot of what I got was people telling me about some trivial event that had happened to a supposedly important person I had zero knowledge of and people around me have learned to not bring up trivialities around me (I do know of a few movie stars and have always liked Clint Eastwood). Of course, when I mention some of the deep problems that exist with a financial system heading for a crash, the unsustainable pension and welfare programs that will soon be bankrupt, the junk science behind “climate change” or the folly of creating fiat money out of thin air with only the banksters benefitting, I get blank looks. Some of the more “knowledgeable” will quote half-understood bits of Keynesian economics in response with their sole knowledge of this having come from an MSM financial column. I just tell them to watch The Big Short to see what they’re in for soon.
The MSM are now openly demonstrating they are statist whores and, in the case of the CBC, unlike real whores, get to screw the taxpayer instead of the other way around. They are likely terrified of the alternative media which has no scruples about airing the dirty laundry of the “elites” who can, in a best case scenario, only be thrown out onto the street with only the clothes on their back but more likely there will be a revival of the guillotine as the people will likey run out of lamposts to hang the banksters and other government criminals from.
A big reset is coming really soon regardless who wins the US election. Hopefully this will be Trump in a decisive manner as right now he’s the only individual who has a chance of managing the crash in a semi-controlled manner. Hitlery would destroy the US unless the very first act of the US congress and senate is to impeach her for her various crimes but I doubt they have the balls to do so. Now have to head off to make sure that have enough propane for the barbacue and gas for the generator in case the Russians respond to a Klinton win by firing a celebratory EMP nuke over the US.
We may be facing another 8 years of a leftist POTUS inoculated from impeachment by their FIRSTness … the FIRST black president, the FIRST Womyn president. Who wants to be seen as abusing a girl? Or to lynch an innocent half-black man? A FREE America as envisioned by our genius Founders surely cannot endure another Lawless president who stacks the Court with haters of the Constitution. Congress … the PEOPLES house will be made subserient to the UN General Assembly. Hillary = doom … she came, she saw, she assassinated America ha ha ha ha ha ha … Sukk on THAT all you deplorables …
That all depends on how close to economic collapse the deep state thinks we are. If it happens under Hitlleries term, she’ll get the blame and the torches and pitchforks will come out sooner. Thus, they might be working towards a Trump win to blame the collapse on him.
The above, of course, assumes that one can gorecast what’s going to happen and control a highly non-linear complex system that is close to entering chaos. The “elites” hubris deludes them into believing they are in control but what I forsee is the equivalent of some type of phase change taking place in the US and most likely Canada as well. The US is likely to split into several countries as the divisions have never been this marked before. If widespread voter fraud is shown to exist then expect to see major nlowback. Considering that most of the US military comes from the “deplorables” portion of the population as well as from the SE states, any attempt to use a military option will backfire.
Insty posted the Joel Kotkin article on what comes after Trump, if he loses.
http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2016/10/21/trump-will-go-away-but-the-anger-he-s-stirred-up-is-just-getting-started.html
BTW, I think the anger predates Trump, though you could argue that the media response to Trump exacerbated it.
Kotkin reminds us that the Tea Party was nice and polite. How long will that hold now that Trump has exposed the myopia, malice and continuing mendacity of the crony capitalist class, and they are legion, if you include all the parasites and hangers on. Frankly, I will surprised if the Middle does prevail over the Takers, if the Political Paymasters have anything to say. But, remember the Establishment has no solutions, beyond more of the same: subsidies, handouts, fake make work jobs, amazing temporary dead end service jobs, or wait, wait, maybe you thought you would be an entrepreneur, join the military, or trade cattle futures.
If there is a remote chance that the USA breaks apart, where will Western Canada gravitate to the Upper Midwest?
Just think where the middle would be if our betters had prevailed on fracking and fossil fuels. The Middle would be on its knees.
