That’s all it ever was.

Emergency Theater for Paris Agreement

But the gala performance may work if enough other countries fall for it — especially the stupidly obedient Anglosphere, and the trapped EU. India, Russia and Brazil will only buy into it they are fed enough pork. But the pork has to come from somewhere, and that’s us — The West. That’s who this show is for — western voters.

  1. “That’s who this show is for — western voters.” But,but, but….Western voters are way too smart to fall for this scam!!! Oh,wait.

  2. I breathlessly anticipate the deluge of positive fluff emanating from our beloved Canadian media, complete with announcements by our PM that “this is historical”.
The education system hasn’t merely “dumbed down” the masses, they’ve lobotomized ’em.

  3. Well, when a politician is caught between the crosshairs of carbon taxes, and their future, they tend to blink and retreat.
Witness Christy Cluck, as much of a “which way is the wind blowing” politician as they get. Her only policy is “how do I stay popular?” As leader of the BC “Liberal” party (a coalition of lefty Libs and conservatives), she wavers between her own lefty Lib lifetime politics, and what she needs to do to keep her job, and be sensible every now and then.
Recently, she had convened a panel of “experts” to review the current carbon tax policy, which included natives, for some unknown reason (optics) and the witch of Clayoquot, Tzeporah Berman, lifetime rentseeker, Greenpeace director, etc. Of course, the enviroloons wanted MOAR Carbon taxes. End result, some policy changes, but, no further carbon taxes, of which TB was apoplectic, but she’s a LEAP nutter, of course.
There’s an election next year in BC, and I suspect CC doesn’t want to tick off any more of us on the right, this is going to be a nasty election coming up, with the NDP ready to get as dirty as it needs to get to try and seize power.
Thank goodness for Red Rachel though (sorry my AB friends), she’s the best advertising for the BC Libs.

  4. I just assumed Canada was included in the Tin-pot countries already ratifying the agreement. But no, seems we are simply committed to doing so by year’s end presumably by an act of Parliament.
The article is correct, no US Congress of any stripe would ever ratify this accord, Obama can but its legal effect is meaningless as Congress controls spending and taxation, and funds will not be budgeted for this adventure. This makes our Liberal position even more foolish if that is possible.

  5. Red Rachel will do what all ideological commies will do.
Stick to the playbook, and double down on doom.
Cuz it will get her a UN job one day, or with the fed commie party, after her ignominious defeat
