  1. We shouldn’t forget that the great electoral scholar and wizard, Maryam Monsef, says that all we need is Twitter. Getting the peasants involved is totally unnecessary.
Meanwhile our federal cabinet wants even more “consultations” about purchasing new fighter jets for the RCAF.
Can this government ever make up its mind on anything others than oppressing us with green idiocy and giving the economic shaft to western Canada?

  2. I would be happy to host a federal electoral reform dialogue that looks at the implications of promising the CBC a taxpayer funded $1,000,000,000 bribe during an election campaign.

  3. Its funny when Librano Globalist sociopaths pretend to “consult with Canadians” when everyone knows that at the end of the day the “Liberals” will simply do what they always do and impose whatever system they want. The “Liberal” reputation for cynical manipulation and recklessly vandalizing the nation for their own benefit is well established and well earned. “Liberals” just can’t control their fascistic nature or their psychotic impulse to torture their victims before they snuff them out.

  4. Scott Adam’s has similar ideas. Forget a representative democracy, we can have direct democracy via social media #EffenNutz

  5. Can Liberals get any creepier? This reminds me of the adage that decisions are made by those who show up to the meeting. Well now, if you create the meeting under the auspices of the government through this invitation, obviously you don’t need the participation of the general public to make government policy through a referendum or voting for a candidate representing a position. These meetings are an activist’s dream come true to create a platform out of thin air to advance their agendas. It is the perfect opportunity to usurp leadership and the voice of the people without their input, a fascist paradise.
Isn’t this exactly how Communists organize their neighborhood committees and then use that forum to monitor the community and then snitch to the government on those who don’t conform?

  7. we have reached the ultimate in stupidity. God, can it get any worse?

  8. The unending shenanigans of Australia’s revolving-door prime ministers ought to cure us of any desire for electoral reform; they could end up with a fifth PM in four years.
Australia uses a “majority-preferential instant-run-off vote in single-member seats” to elect representatives (the equivalent of our MPs) and a “single transferable proportional vote” to elect senators.
Everybody got that? Clear as mud, eh?

  9. If you hold any community meetings, I suggest the topic for discussion should be “Are we still a member of this thing?”

  10. This is community organizing 101, the Bromance is deep and extensive between Obama Democrats and the Liberals. They have been colonized and most of the Liberal Party do not realize it.
Similar documents were produced during Obamacare. Perhaps someone should compare the two.
Participation in this is exactly what they want, so they can avoid a referendum. Its creepy, but there is method to the madness.

  11. As you have mentioned dscott and connecting the dots Stephen; this exactly the process the Soviets of the Soviet Communist Party of Russia established control after setting aside the the Democracy Efforts of the Russian People.
Setting up Soviets in every community and alcove of larger Municipalities setting-up the structure for control.
Naturally the First to go were the existing Establishment of the area. Mayors; Administraors, Committee Chairmen etc. This normally accomplishement within a tight time period to magnify the fear by using Firing Squads to re-establish control;.through the Soviet Structure.
All led by Moscow’s Kremlin Krony Krowd.

  12. From the NP:
“There isn’t much in the practical guide to explain why the government thinks that people Monsef said could be “marginalized” and unlikely to cast a ballot in an electoral reform referendum — people with lower education levels, new immigrants, the unemployed — would be any more likely to want to organize an event on the same subject”.
Exactly. This whole guide is a stark reminder that Orwellian madness has overcome this government and is being spouted by the likes of Monsef as a solution, to exactly what problem?
No where in the kit does the word referendum appear and Monsef remains unable to give a straight answer if Liberals would hold one were the Parliamentary committee to recommend it. Of course they wouldn’t, as previous referendums in Ont and BC were quite clear, voters are satisfied with the current 149 year old system.
Only Liberals could promote such a colossal waste of government printing forms and a nit wit like Monsef to champion it.

  13. To think, we pay people to come up with this shit.
Make believe work in pretend jobs.
Tell me – when does Louis and Marie-Antoinette Day roll round again?

  14. Mikesr,
I wont go that far as I don’t know. But what you see is community organizing. What you see are common methods used by Obama Dems and Cdn liberals. They share an IT infrastructure, that the Dems sold to the Libs for “$1”. They share consultants…yes US consultants were up here. They have the same ecosystem that includes tight coordination with Google and Facebook (tighter than the normal services any party or business can buy)
This isn’t being alarmist…just people should understand the facts and make their own judgement about how much influence from Non Canadians that we want in our political system.

  15. Canadians are sleep walking, as Trudeau Liberals again plan to change the very essence of our Parliamentary ruling arrangement. Note that from out of the woodwork comes JP Kingsley of Election Canada warning the Committee that a referendum in Canada isn’t legally possible unless on a constitutional matter. This is absurd, that a governing democracy isn’t able to formulate legislation to have a referendum on the way we count votes?
I suspect Kingsley’s line that it isn’t a constitutional matter, is simply Liberals getting their ducks and talking points in line; that a mere act of parliament is sufficient to change voting rules. If a new act passes and the inevitable challenge reaches the SC, do not expect McLachlin and pals to overrule it. They will probably say the Constitution is silent on voting rules, so they cannot possibly read anything into it. Yes they are capable of that duplicity.
Canadians cannot expect the Senate, the SC any body to save them from this extreme makeover by
Trudeau Jr. They must act themselves to prevent this from happening. Maybe mainstream Canadians have to do a bit of community organizing themselves.
