The US authorities have disciplined 41 Secret Service personnel for improperly accessing and leaking the personal information of a congressman who had scrutinized the agency, the Department of Homeland Security said.
The announcement comes after a report in September by the Department of Homeland Security Inspector General accused the Secret Service employees of accessing the personal files of Republican congressman Jason Chaffetz of Utah, chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, who has led several inquiries into alleged misconduct at the agency.
They were punished with measures ranging from a letter of reprimand to suspensions without pay for up to 45 days, Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson said in a statement on Thursday.

Hillary would argue she was never in the Secret Service. I just watched Fox as one of their Dem apologist, Alan Colmes get roasted for his “it’s old news, it was allowed, and others did it too, all excoriated by the IG report, barely able to keep a straight face.
Even the lawyer who always backs Hillary was on Fox/Huckabee last night and agreed she is in deep doo doo so the best advice he could give her right now was to please shut her mouth lest she incriminate herself further.
She really thinks she’s bullet proof. Maybe with the IG, AG and POTUS, but how about the voters. Meanwhile her terrible trust numbers are dropping further. The violent do-gooders seems poised to help, but unless they plan to assassinate Trump, they will only hurt her.
The last few days have seen more dirt on her political grave. Cruz looks like an squeaky clean team player next to her. Hillary may have done a lot of Trump’s needed work with the womens’ vote. Nobody credibly backs her I made a mistake and what difference does it make now; it won’t work in debates.

It is pretty bad when the Praetorian Guard members consisting of the IRS and Secret Service are used to go after opponents of the regime. Smell like Rome of old when the Praetorian guard would make or break emperors.
We can agree in retrospect that Harper should have clean swept the bureaucracy and entrenched vested interests.
