New Englanders will simply turn to WOOD BURNING to keep warm. Their demand for ever greater wood supplies will result in the clear-cutting of far more forest land than a little pipeline ever would have. This is the intellectual capacity of the eco-left. They have NEVER taken Econ 101, where they would have learned about “the market”. The market is essentially “human-nature”. And human-nature’s #1 priority is self-preservation (which includes economic survival). The forests will be decimated, and the air will be choked with nasty pure Co2 smoke and other carcinogenic by-products of burning. No, the people will NOT pay for your EXPENSIVE “eco-energy” … they will find the cheapest alternative to heat their homes and stay warm.
And your stupid little argument that a new pipeline will lead to the cutting of too much forest land will be a reminder of how very, very, stupid you truly are.
And you wonder why we are ending-up with President Trump …
I remember reading an article in “Scientific American” many years ago about this very point. The author(s) attributed the British coal industry starting because firewood, and the forests where it was found, became scarce several hundred years ago. When that happened, people turned to the next best fuel that was available.
I have often said that the pipeline industry needs to shut down entirely for about a week in the middle of January. Sort of like an extended “Earth Hour”, if you get my drift.
Well said. What a sick deluded society we are becoming and many of the politicians are leading the way to this sickness.
About Trump. Maybe someone like him can take the morons where they need to be taken.
Who is the Cuomo idiot anyway.
The Luddite/ Malthusian coalition has taken over and it is time for the people to wake up to the destruction that is taking place.
People do need to get serious about pipelines. First thing, in my opinion, is stop loading tail cars, and stop unloading them at your refinery. They either realize they are facing an existential threat;or they will go out of business. A second step would be to start charging premiums. Say, charge $300 per barrel for every barrel loaded on a train; same for unloading. Hell, they used to do it to farmers with grain and no one cared.
I’m sure they’ll do just fine in the middle of winter because they’ll have all that dirt cheap and oh-so-reliable solar and wind energy.
Damn bunch of back to nature freaks not only do they want climate skeptics silenced and want people persicuted for refusing to beleive this glibal warming/climate change poppycock soon they would be demanding sacrifices to Gaia and the sun and moon gods like the pagans did
until we chain all the environmentalists to trees from oct to march this foolishness will continue.
