  1. . It’s feel good nonsense for people who feel guilty about their comfortable urban lives.
Pretty much sums it all up … right there.

  2. Headline:
Earls Restaurants announces they will only serve beef from Kansas that is slaughtered at the same meat processor as every other beef animal.
    Related:
All major North American oil producers announce they will market only free range, antibiotic and hormone free, humanely produced crude oil.
    Related:
Major Canadian grocery retailer announces they will be selling only ground beef cut by left handed red haired butchers that is ground in counterclockwise meat grinders.

Bombardier announces aircraft/trains/recreational vehicles that will come factory equipped to run on unicorn farts fresh squeezed by Jimmy Hoffa.
Let the Metrosexuals figure those out for themselves.

  3. Yes, but I wanted GROUND beef, not SHREDDED beef.
Damn suicide bombers, always messing things up!
Never mind the KOBI beef, now you can have KABOOM beef; fresh from the
verdant deserts of Iraq and Syria.
No it’s not a bug, it’s a feature; feel the EXPLOSION of flavour.
Hurry on down to EARL’s, where the service SUCKS and BLOWS all at once! 🙂

  4. That makes sense. In obamatopia everything is opposite.
    Ethical = inhumane.

  5. Humane® Slaughter:
They march the cattle into a special room with videos of lush green meadows, bubbling springs, Doves sitting on others heads.
Then a Jewish Rabbi prays for their quick release from this cruel world and ask them which neck vessels they want cut.
Its all very Humane®, then Earls turns them into Beef Jerky..
    Fearless Leader®

  6. the process for slaughter is no more humane than any other slaughter process, if anything the halal process is worse.

  7. Wonder if the Aga Khan has a piece of the action?
    “Humane is like organic”.
A lot more truth there than was meant to reach the light of day.

  8. The Rebel pretends to be outraged by Earl’s so it can create a “boycott” pledge to boost its email subscription numbers, and with them, its advertising rates.
SDA pretends to be outraged by Earl’s so it can create a post to sate its Islamophobic readers.

  9. There’s that fake word again (Islamophobic). By the way, I know that there were a few Earl’s Restaurants in Edmonton when I lived there 20 yrs ago…so for a restaurant in AB to use non-AB is pretty outrageous.

  10. Although their online menu does not specify, one assumes the salmon dish they offer is wild salmon. I mean really, eh? A new-age, feel-good restaurant chain would not serve farm-raised salmon.
Consider that wild salmon [vs farm raised] are caught in seine nets, gills nets or on a trolling lines and mainly die of suffocation as they die on the nets or placed is storage holds in bulk and might still be alive when put in the holds.

You go Earl. Hypocritical new-age, millennial morons.
    CAS

  11. “…Hypocritical new-age, millennial morons. ”
    Amen, amen. If you eat meat and you’re against hunting/feedlot beef/farmed salmon/etc., you’re just a ******g hypocrite.
And if you don’t eat meat, and you’re a sanctimonious alfalfa chewer, you’re still a ******g hypocrite – because plants have feelings too, you know.

  12. Its interesting that its considered more humane to knock an animal unconscious and have it bleed to death than to kill it outright. If they discovered Joe Farmer doing this they would be screaming from the rooftops. Another example of the media and the urban populace having no understanding of how the real world works.

  13. What happened to HUMANE SLAUGHTER. They line them up (maybe they should put orange suits on them) then slit there necks. Islamist encroaching in our daily work lives…..another form of invasion. When will we learn!!!

  14. Belmont meats is a big canadian supplier of antibiotic steroid free angus.
I buy their burgers at costco. Best damn burgers out there.
A quick perusal of their web site shows them to be a good choice to meat (pun intended) earls needs.
So either earls is bsing about available supply and it’s really a price issue, or they are supporting sharia law.
I don’t want to be served halal meat without my knowledge.

  15. My eyes point forward. I have pointy teeth in the front at the top in my mouth. Somebody designed me to catch and eat meat, one way or another.

  16. If you read the “muslim eater” link, you will note that the Halal slaughter at Creekstone, the beef supplier to Earls, includes a prayer to allah, dedicating the meat to that entity. One does not have to be a practising Christian or Jew to recognize that, simply reading the texts as literature, the entity known to the muslims as allah is the same character known to the Jews and Christians as Satan.
The history of islam, since its inception, does not appear to be inconsistent with that analysis.
I will be damned if I knowingly eat halal. Perhaps quite literally.

  17. Once upon a time I helped my Grampa kill a fattened steer. He casually walked out in the feedlot with his trusty old .22 and shot the animal right between the eyes. He then bled it out and we hung the carcass for 21 days before cutting it up into steaks roasts etc. I have never eaten better beef in my life. Then I hear about earls buying corn fed (yech) halal killed (tough as nails) beef and I don’t need any further incentive to not eat at earls.

    Belmont is Halal-certified: http://www.ifancc.org/index.php?page=cartifiedcompanies.

  19. SDA pretends to be outraged by Earl’s.

    Hey… Wait a minute !
I mentioned a Jewish Rabbi and his prayer.
Islamic’s do not pray over slaughtered animals, its unclean.
But praying for Death to America or a slaughtered infidel, is allowed by Mohammad (pbuh)-
I guess you can call it Humane® Slaughter.

  20. What’s the beef? (joke!) Anyway, I don’t see what the big deal is. How long have people been buying and eating packaged Kosher foods from the supermarket without knowing it. If the beef tastes better or is a superior cut, it has more to do with how it is raised and fed-out than some “magical” incantation said over it as it is slaughtered in a particular way.
If I am a Christian and enjoy the beef, I am enjoying for the taste, not because of some religious dogma that doesn’t pertain to my faith.
The real problem boils down to how is Islam as a whole going to curtail their lunatic fringe. Some claim Islamophobia, but when the majority sit back while the minority espouse a goal of a world caliphate, one cannot wonder if the majority is secretly wishing the same lot. It is a logical extension in human reaction.
I will buy “your” beef but I am not buying your faith. To me they are as separate as day and night.

  21. The point, ivbinconned, is that the entire Earl’s angle here is a red herring: twitter.com/earlsrestaurant/status/726213125708484608.
It’s just an excuse to post the word “Halal” on SDA so that readers know that this thread is today’s “hate on Muslims” thread, whereas the next one (“Y2Kyoto”) is the “hate on environmentalists” thread.

  22. The muslims defend the quality of their halal status…
    https://halaltransactions.wordpress.com/2014/09/12/creekstone-farms-update/
“Thousands of American Muslims recently expressed excitement at the news that Creekstone Farms Prime Beef, being served at top restaurants throughout America, is certified Halal. ”
Perhaps a video of the halal process of humane slaughter would help Earl’s ?
    https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=halal+animal+slaughter
There’s no shortage of information on this, Earl’s only needs to see how humane their choice of meat supplier is.

  23. Is anyone really surprised. These putz that run Hurls have been heading down this road since they gave into SJW’S and changed the name of their Albino Rhino beer.

  24. KT. They may produce halal. It does not mean it’s all halal. I checked the box in my freezer. No mention of kosher or halal. So I would guess its upon request. I am going to find out though

  25. It ain’t ‘hate’ to point out the ridiculous and hypocritical stances by slavish adherence to the politically correct narrative.
Laughing off political correctness, and stupid, hypocritical stances are a PUBLIC SERVICE.

  26. How is cutting the throat of a fully conscious animal humane? We put up with it for Jews but we always knew it caused the animal distress and was inhumane but how many Jews are there and how many follow the rules? Now we are all supposed to believe it’s not cruel? Since it doesn’t cause distress perhaps we should execute prisoners that way or to kill granny under the new elder execution law.

  27. Shorter Earl’s: “We’re switching to “humane” beef.” Wink-wink, say no more. (Taqiyya)

  28. halal? google the story about the slaughterhouse ships containing sheep standing and falling in their own excrement on the trip from Aussieland to Saudi Arabia area. halal.
otoh there is a muslim groc store around the corner that cuts meat on a daily basis and sells @ prices to match or beat the groc store chains in price and exceeds quality. plus the lady speaks some 6 languages. they are refugees from the serbian atrocities. very nice couple. just severely misled in their faith.
otooh, Ive been severely offended by some ‘christians’, *4 times* in total so far. they are individually the worst hypocrites Ive dealt with. pompous, selfish, arrogant to the max, and extremely judgemental.
    meh.

  29. Earl’s likely corporate game plan:
    1) Announce “humane” beef.
    2) Wait for public outrage to subside, and let sales stabilize.
    3) Announce “humane” chicken.
    4) Repeat step 2)
    5) Announce no source of “humane” pork and drop pork from menu.
    6) Repeat step 2)
    7) Stop serving alcohol, due to health and safety concerns for patrons. (Don’t drink and drive!)
    8) Repeat step 2)
    9) Change name of chain to “Mo’s”, the all Halal restaurant.
    Resulting in unexpected consequence: bankruptcy.
How you like that KT*? *dhimmi

  30. Earls works for me.
Last time we ate at earls, I felt I can cook better than that.
Now Alberta beef is not ethically pure enough for earl’s to serve.
    That is their choice.
I love canadian beef,am biased to Alberta beef.
So my money earned in Alberta, will not be spent at Earls.
As I would not want to violate their tender sensibilities with inhumane money.

  31. I think that is unfair criticism. I appreciate the Rebel because they flag stories that are relevant, but shunned by MSM. All media pursue strategies that can help build their numbers. I think the strongest point they make is that Earl’s originated in Alberta. It does seem somewhat disloyal to switch your source to the US (Halal or not!) especially given Alberta’s downturn. I am glad to be informed about Earl’s decision and will be boycotting them. My choice has little to do with Muslims.

  32. I noticed that one Safeway store had a cooler in the meat department with a sign advertising “Certified Humane” on it. A case of bandwagon advertising, perhaps?

  33. “My choice has little to do with Muslims.”
As is the case with most who disagree with Earl’s decision. Coming on this site to throw around words like “Islamophobia” and “hate” is as intellectually lazy as slapping down the race card at every opportunity.

  34. Creekstone Farms hires only Muslims, right? And trains them in the Halal method of slaughtering?
How convenient in support of the coming jihad.

  35. What makes anyone think that marketing and advertising is based on truth not propaganda. In our society it’s perfectly acceptable to con stupid people into buying stuff they don’t need, with money the don’t have, to get them into debt for the rest of their lives.

  36. I just love the halal section in the supper market I usually leave 2 or 3 packs of pork chops on the halal beef and chicken just to watch people lose their minds LOL

  37. I believe a good strategy would be to identify the markets that sell this “hahal” murdered meat and DEMAND that they identify it as hahal/muslim slaughtered. The link to “muslim eater” clearly states that this company does not advertise this meat as hahal. It’s also a good way to muslims in control of our food supply and employment.

  38. You may want to ponder the implications of having muslims in control of, or anywhere NEAR our food supply.

  39. …a post to sate its Islamophobic readers…
…this thread is today’s “hate on Muslims” thread…

    1. This is a post about a company which originated in Alberta buying its beef in the USA, citing “humane treatment” of animals which appears to be a spurious reason. The Halal/Muslim/religious connection is obviously secondary. Surely even you can understand that.
    2. Muslim extremists inhumanely slaughter thousands of their fellow humans annually but you fixate on “Islamophobia” instead. How do you expect anyone here to take you seriously?

  40. Try the baby back ribs or pork chops at Earle’s next visit. Question: Can non-halal food be prepared in a halal kitchen? Bottom line is some big mucky muck in upper management is a SJW and/or Islamic apologist. I kind of doubt that Earle’s former provider was asked about providing this humane beef before they changed.

  41. I never much cared for Earl’s anyway, but this is a reason to now avoid them completely. If Canadian beef isn’t good enough for Earl’s then Earl’s isn’t good enough for me.
For their remaining customers, if such there be, Earl’s needs to be advising them if they are serving them beef slaughtered according to Islamic ritual.

  42. LindaL: “My choice has little to do with Muslims.”
biffjr.: “As is the case with most who disagree with Earl’s decision. Coming on this site to throw around words like “Islamophobia” and “hate” is as intellectually lazy as slapping down the race card at every opportunity.”
Greg W: “This is a post about a company which originated in Alberta buying its beef in the USA, citing “humane treatment” of animals which appears to be a spurious reason. The Halal/Muslim/religious connection is obviously secondary. Surely even you can understand that.”
I agree with you, an Alberta-born company turning its back to Alberta beef is what this post should be about. But that were actually the case, then why did Kate bother mentioning, a propos of nothing, that “Earl’s happy, shiny new “Certified Humane” beef supplier is a Halal slaughterhouse”?
