No,they were not backdoor donations, any more than our beloved PM’s speaking fees were.
We have to re-learn trust in our politicians. It’s part of becoming a good sheep.
Regarding “becoming a good sheep” I think I’ll pass.
The Cosa Nostra thrived on “speaker’s fees” and back door donations.
It does sound a little bit like protection money.
No one pays $250,000 for a speech. $10,000 maybe. The real question is what did they buy for the other $240,000?
