  11. The golden age that is ending will be remembered for personal security and freedom. The fact that it is taken so much for granted that youth will advocate for its ending will be studied with confusion by future generations. Only a people who are comfortable in their own security (physical and food supply) would consider Pres. Obama or PM Trudeau for a governmental job, let alone a leadership position.
    It’s a continuation of the welfare state mentality. When you don’t pay for what you receive, or know what went into making or earning it, you don’t value it. No one knows everything that goes into making a functioning economy, and yet many think it can be centrally managed. The next few generations will find out what happens when you take out gears from a functioning machine and replace them with potato-heads.

    This is my thinking as well.
    Well-accomplished and successful Liberals in JT’s Caucus must just be shaking their heads at their position.
    They are subordinate to someone who is below their levels of intelligence, accomplishment, and abilities. JT is actively doing a lot of nothing and being commended for it (and swooned over by “journalists” like Emma Loop).
    JT won the genealogy lottery with that last name (how many times has Dominic LeBlanc wished his father had been more accomplished and recognizable?!).
    And that last name (and handsome good looks!) is about the extent of what anybody can point to for him to hold the post he does.
    An aside: How are the employees and clients of Morneau-Shepell coming to grips with their boss not being able to tell a PBO surplus from a Fiscal Monitor deficit?

  35. It was quite a spectacle to see footage of the pot smokers from across the country gathered on the Hill in celebration. Anyone there would probably leave on cloud nine man…..without even lighting up. Wonder how many of them drove their cars after smoking a joint?
    Medical marijuana is the stepping stone to a lot of prescriptions to relieve pain, I predict an increase in back pain and arthritic conditions. There’s no plan for all the other possible problems, both mental and physical that will stem from this. I expect we’ll be able to buy some happiness inducing brownies at our local bakeries across the land as well. Those of us living in Ontario may need a “lift” more than anyone, this province is teetering on the edge.

I am not saying it was ideal to have Senator’s shilling for their parties, but it had always been done, and the left used this to undermine the Harper government.     No sparring partners could be coaxed into the ring with the best looking boxer they all noted they’d ever seen because they were all afraid of being killed by his awesome power and masterful technique. After his workout the handsome Prime Minister also was able to unlock the old safe in the manager’s office, rid the building of rats and cured 15 old boxers, that were reduced to emptying spit buckets for a living because of their long-term health consequences due to concussions suffered in the ring. To cap off the day the old boxers and cigar chomping one eyed derelicts joined him and the neighbourhood toughs in a masterful performance of Hamlet’s public square fight scene that the greatest Prime Minister ever starred in, directed, choreographed and produced to the delight of every transfixed agape onlooker in the crowd.

    True, it must be painful for someone like Marc Garneau to take orders from such a lightweight.Still, a determined caucus reprimand, insisting he start doing the job of PM would force this actor’s hand. In other democracies, the party caucus has considerable power, as Mrs Thatcher found out.
    This government is supposed to differ from the centralized power wielded by Stephen Harper. If Liberal MPs are really embarrassed by Jr’s antics, and surely some are, they have considerable power to act. It was Trudeau Sr. who remarked that MPs were nobodies away from Parliament, but they don’t have to conform to that viewpoint.

    He can hide behind the fact he voted NDP, but if the NDP had won, the only difference would have been a less plainly stupid Prime Minister.
    The rest of the corruption, feather bedding and deficit spending would have proceeded apace under the NDP.
    Coyne and his ilk are dedicated to progressivism at any cost, and that cost will be the destruction of Canada.
