Yes the answer is breeder, of course and only… but we are living in the day of age when idiots are buying custom designer crosses om Kijiji… the planet is doomed.
So instead of being able to get the sort of pet you want from a reputable breeder, you have to get a “rescued” mongrel from ferals who can’t be bothered to desex their menagerie. Crazy

I was as clueless about finding a dog as most other urban dwellers. Many years ago I went to the local pound, found a mixed-breed dog that seemed congenial, and we had a great 15 years together. Only when I met a breeder, a colleague who also bred and showed vizslas, did I get an education on these issues, and everything I learned lines up with what I’ve read on SDA.
Ian – You’ve got to watch out for those bulldog / shih tzu crosses. They keep wanting to go into politics or law.

I guess he means we’ll help by bringing the hate filled murderous Muslims here and offer them shelter, food, clothing, computers and protection. All the while many Canadians who want to can’t get a job or much help from the Government.
On a related note. I know someone on EI who called a College in Northern Ontario asking if there were programs he could get into. Answer was no – full up.
His half black daughter called, mentioned she was a visible minority and voila, a full ride for two years (over and above the tuition) but she had to work at a specific place for a couple of years after.

Well, I checked “breeder” alright. But only because Ol’ Jerome, my Greater Glengarry Moosehound, musta been selectively bred. Man, every time a Liberal comes into the yard, he’s on him in an instant. “Jerome” I yell, “I’m onto your tricks, you old SOB. Now stop that humpin’ and start biting…you’re just encouraging the bastards to come back!”

Then get on board and help him out, Vizslas like so many other gun dogs (including my beloved Flatties) are virtually endangered species. Recently met people who stopped breeding Gordon Setters despite huge success in the show ring: reason not enough interest in the breed. If it is a gun dog that is not a Lab or a Golden (and you really need to be careful who you take a pup from) odds are there is less of them every year. People buy Goldendoodles or Cockapoos online (because they do not shed you know) from God knows who and the noble breeds are dieing off.
