Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

It’s not the job of the President to push the limits of the freedoms granted in the 1st Amendment. It’s the job of the President to protect the rights of others who would push those limits. Ultimately Trump will cause the demise of free speech in the USA.
This is a must read for you kate:

By continuing to speak as freely as he does?
Give your head a shake?
So Daryl. You are afraid and upset that the RINO’s and CINO’s are looking at Trump and seeing a guy that isn’t bought and paid for by the “establishment”? Ah. Poor puppy. Trump is paying his own campaign and you can’t buy him. Must be scary for you SJW’s,ie, commies.
oh i’d say the PC crowd has done that already.
have a dissenting opinion on causes of climate change – “denier”
don’t like Barack (Barry Soetoro) Obama – “racist”
i get in trouble all the time by talking, just sayin’
whiskey tango foxtrot, not the movie.
I agree with you 100% on 50% of what you said.
“It’s the job of the President to protect the rights of others who would push those limits.”
It has been a long time since there has been such a president. I take it you’re voting for Trump. Certainly not for the candidate that throws the movie maker in jail.
Like the democrat establishment the republican establishment wants a Clinton presidency.
Well of course, oldidiot – their choice would be:
1) If a Repub candidate, establishment Repubs vote Repub.
2) If a Democ candidate, establishment Repubs vote Repub.
3) BUT !! if a ‘non-Ruling Class’ candidate, Repubs will vote DEMOC !! … whether in a general election or in congress. In a Ruling Class fight against the people it is ‘close ranks’, ‘protect our gravy train’, ‘maintain the cushy lifestyles’, and keep on faking the Dem-Rep fight.
Say what you will about Trump but ultimately this is what the big stink is about. The Elites are scared stiff over Trump. Probably even more so about Cruz because he knows the issues inside and out.
Am I wrong ??
I’ve come to the conclusion that Trump is a more foul-mouthed version of Reagan.
The conservative movement always invokes the name of Reagan, but ignores the fact he won the presidency with the help of what is termed the Reagan Democrats.
Those voters did not necessarily embrace the hard-line conservative principles exposed today that create a sharp contrast between them and their progressive rivals.
The Reagan Democrats were attracted by the fact Reagan was able to articulate that ideas for the good of the American public were not exclusively owned by one side of the other.
Today’s conservative movement and progressive movements have created the divisions in American society because of the belief that THEIR ideas are the only ones that matter.
Reagan and Trump are open-minded enough to believe that good ideas are not the monopoly of one party.
Even though the left (see NDP) seems to have a monopoly on sanctimony, today’s conservative movement seems to be not very much different.
She’s back.
Nice and to the point.
“Trumps awful comments”
Sheesh where do these trembling little pansies come from?
Actually pansies ,the flowers, are far more resilient.
Oh right it is only vulgar when your opponent does it.
This morning the fools at CBC were observing the obvious, Fox is the Republican Establishment mouthpiece, going all in attacking Trump.
Now be that “observation” as it may.
For CBC to be broadcasting such an insinuation is priceless.
I wonder what Neil McDonald sees when he looks in the mirror.
Hard to not laugh when the Constantly Biased Conmen are condemning US media for what they do endlessly.
I think some of the media tools are waking up,just a fraction, for they have started to notice.
When they spew their hatred of Trump, abuse Trump voters for thugs and fools, more voters vote Trump.
There is no difference between the politicians of either party, they are politicians first.
And no party in USA or Canada is promoting the right of their citizens to be free of parasitic theft and interference.
The Establishment campaigns on the big lie;”Voters, you need us”
Long version:”We are from the government, we are here to do you good”
“civil society requires the parasitic overload/lords.”
Behind the Taxed Enough Already, you can hear ;”NO, we do not”
Informed citizens need very little Government.
Am I wrong?
It must be true because it looks like the GOP intends to blow everything to hell to prevent Trump.
A better word than ‘elites’ might be vested interests. Look what trillions of dollars in government debt can do for your stock portfolio.

Read today’s comments on Trump by Conrad Black. My thoughts on Trump exactly.
http://news.nationalpost.com/full-comment/conrad-black-dont-underestimate-donald-he-will-win
Simply false comparison.
Reagan was a consistent conservative for decades before he ran for Pres. And he was a two-term republican governor etc etc.
That he messaged well with centre Dems was a function of how bad carter was and how far left the Dems had moved and that he framed a message that was attractive to blue collar groups. The latter may be the only similarity with trump.
Conrad black is out to lunch. 40%!of americAns likeing trump ignores the fact that 60% or more detest him.
And saying that Cruz is the sleaziest campaigner is a slur that is unfounded.
Seriously?
We can see what has happened to FREE SPEECH under the OBungles administration.
Ask the Tea Party supporters about IRS audits, nefarious charges from various corrupt gubermint agencies, etc, for their FREE SPEECH.
Dimwit Lefties
Look at what TRUMP’s 1st Amendment rights are doing to the left, to the CINOs and the mediots. Their heads are exploding everywhere.
I love the smell of FRESH AIR
Agreed. Black really lost me with his dismissive comments about Cruz and especially his supporters, “M16-toting corn-cobbers and woolhats.”
It’s almost as if he’s pandering to the kind of Canadian audience who loves to look on them trigger-happy rednecks.
Oops – who “loves to look down on…”
What I find scary was wee-Marco suggesting that the millennials would unite the world through social media. The village idiots see a path to solutions by growing a bigger village of Idiots.
The millennials need a suicide pact, like Jonestown, to play out their childish fantasy…
It may be a good time to invest in group therapy…..poor delusional things
BTW: IMHO the race (arm twisting) is about the VP… when Kasich wins Ohio he will have the edge
“M16-toting corn-cobbers and woolhats.”
and Brainless, that is exactly what you should be paying attention to. As I’v said often in here, get the bible bangers out of politics, and cruz is nothing, if not a bible banger. When fools like you learn that politics should not be in the church, and the church needs to stay out of politics. One has to ask, just how stupid are you?
Seriously…you need help.
I’m sure there is a diagnosis for your festering pre-occupation with God and the Bible believers.
Just get help.
Matt Pearce is the EXACT kind of kid (he still looks like one) that INVITED bullying. He “proudly” stepped out of the mainstream … and proceeded to CRY about the inevitable reaction it invited. There are multiple behaviors that are EMBEDDED in our DNA. For example “simple economic behavior” … prices go UP, purchases go DOWN. Taxes go UP, incentive to earn goes DOWN. And I would add: Political Correctness runs amok, Trump is elected POTUS.
Matty’s ignorance of basic human nature is laughable. And it’s even MORE laughable for him to believe he can “shame” or “legislate” the behavior HE deems “appropriate” for humanity. Hey Matty ! You will NEVER force people to “accept” or worse, “like” homosexuality. By definition it’s DEVIANT behavior. Out of the NORM. Out of step with Nature. You also will not FORCE a given population to “accept” the INVASION of a deviant culture into theirs. It WILL end with violence. YOU are an ignorant TWIT … and a DANGEROUS ignorant TWIT.
Principled conservative for two decades, huh? Is that why he signed no-fault divorce into law? Let’s also not forget his getting Rick Rolled by Amnesty ’86.
Listen, I love Reagan but he’s not perfect. He was also a Dem… Rather like someone else used to be.
No, you are right.
As far as Conrad Black’s article, I agree with the above that say it was great except for his slagging of Cruz.
yah, give me the phone # to your shrink
and plz supply evidence of this god you speak of
I used to agree with the sentiment that separating church and state was a good idea. Unfortunately swine like you started parting the road between state and morality too.
I don’t have a problem when idiots like NME666 throw out their faith…but they become a problem when they throw out their morals. I’ll be hanging on to my “M16”. The wool hat is a good idea considering the weather for those of us that actually venture outside in Canada.
Gord;
Reagan led the fight against the communist as they tried to take over the American film industry. President of the Screen Actors Guild he exposed many of them. The concerns of the McCarthy era were not as ‘right wing’ as re-written history has portrayed. Revelations by ex-KGB have established their strategy in the USA to trend the direction of public opinion. One can only conclude that they have succeeded over these many decades.
Reagan’s fight was not the first by any means. Randolf Hurst fought the communist as they tried to take over print media as early as the 1920’s. If you read Jack London’s bio you get a better idea of how pervasive all this activity was. Much of it had nothing to do with foreign intervention that came with the emergence of the Soviet Union. What London was doing and who Hurst fought were home grown movements I believe. Could be wrong?
To understand Trump’s strategy re political correctness, look up Overton Window…
He is opening the window on the populist side.
