  1. Heh. That looks like fun. But hard on the back after a while. Does it make me a weird person that I thought of making a motorscooter out out of a big old IEL chain saw that sits in my shop? Replace the cutter chain with a roller chain, and a wheel at the end of the bar, and put a steerable wheel under the power head?

  2. I witnessed the “Timber Days” celebration in Priest River, ID last summer. It included the usual (?) axe throwing contests, bucksaw competitions and “chop the log you are standing on” races. Of special note were the “hot saw” contests, wherein various gearheads would soup up chainsaws with racing motorcycle parts and see who could vapourize a log the fastest. We were advised to stay out of line with the chain path lest one break. I have a hot rod magazine which shows a team presenting a saw powered by a Buick 3.8L V-6.

  3. Meh. That’s the sport of pussies. Now … two-man chainsaw ice luge … now THAT’s a man’s sport !

  4. As I can clearly recall the dear departed’s last words:
“Yo Buba, hold my beer while I shows you somethin’ cool…”

  5. ROFL – that’s hilarious! Memories of some misspent moments of my youth going to Temiskaming QC one year to see snowmobiles race on water for fun of it. Walking down town streets with beer in plastic cups having a blast.
What would possess someone to equate snowmoblie races on a lake on a hot summer day ?? Because they could I suppose, & the T factor. 😉 Not all but many made it to the other shore without sinking – crazy ba$tards, but a lot of fun.
