A $B+ a year.

You could get a rabble.ca editor for much less.

Oops! CBC (the Canadian version of the BBC and ABC) have been caught out editing a story to make it more politically correct. CBC’s political bias is accidentally on display. The original message revealed a sacred truth that must not be spoken.

  1. I’m a big fan of Shakespeare. this from Merchant of Venice (I’ve got the Al Pacino version and the Thames version)
    act 2 sc. 2 lines 69-74
    “the truth will out”.
This should b e mandatory reading for bankers, politishuns, cops, medical researchers, enviro researchers, bureaucraps, authorities of all stripes and persuasions.

  2. Then there’s the line from “All’s Well That Ends Well”, Act IV, Scene 3:
He will lie, sir, with such volubility that you would think truth were a fool.

  3. Hmmm… Why aren’t the CBC competitors (CTV & Global) all over this like flies? One would think that something that so obviously discredits their tax-funded competitor would be worth at least a mention. It could help even more Canadians chortle at the “Canada’s most trusted news” label that CBC has imagined for itself. It’s okay…. I know why….

  4. Forget about putting spin on the article. The fact is that the entire line of questioning in the survey is dishonest. The reason being that the questions are not specific as to the “human activity” which may be “partly or mostly” the cause of the warming.
Human activity can include, among other things, increased CO2 emissions, deforestation, and increased human population. However, since the survey wants to link “carbon taxes” with warming earth it should have asked the question directly, i.e.:
Earth is warming mostly due to increased CO2 emitted by human activities.
    and
Earth is warming partly or mostly due to increased CO2 emitted by human activities.
It did not ask these questions. It is dishonest to assume respondents will understand an underlying premise without stating that premise. Spin that.

  5. How embarassing for the CBC . . . not only is their bias exposed on this issue, but it makes it clear that they have a political agenda to peddle. Shame on the CBC. Canadians deserve better.

  6. No we didn’t. It has been obvious to many that the CBC has been into propaganda for a long time. Interestingly, given the results of the fall election, I did not think Canadians were that smart. I think of Canadians (especially leftists) as being easily duped, so the results surprise me also.

  7. Most of their competitors employees would like to work for CBC,and as fellow left-wing propagandists they aren’t about to diss one of their own.

  8. The media is completely in the tank for Global Warmism and every punishment proposed to be imposed on our lifestyles to “fix” the “crises” . Is it really just a coincidence that the draconian “solutions” all propose to take things away from us … not add to our lives ? It is pretty much the Socialist play book … make people stand in bread lines … and then tell them it is only because the bread is an artisan-made, natural, whole grain, organic, locally-sourced, GMO-free, bread … baked only in solar ovens … so it is valuable and scarce. You should consider yourself grateful for starving … because the politbureau is living on such wonderfully baked bread.

  9. Exactly right, David. Anyone who would devise such ambiguous questions reveals that they have no knowledge of the field of public opinion research. It also raises doubts about their ability at data analysis. But then again they are academics and I (B.A) have had to teach several PhDs the basics of social research that they didn’t learn in University.

  10. “Pity Harper didn’t have the balls to wheat board the bastards.”
Yes I heartily agree with these sentiments. Once again the old truism comes to mind. This is that you cannot make those who hate you, like you.
Day in day out the CBC picked and insinuated things that were anti- Harper. Even today they cannot let it go. Getting less and less, but still bad mouthing Harper.
Problem is, as I see it, the CBC do not have a tinge of conscience. Not even a sneaking doubt that this is not ethical journalism.

  11. When your job is propaganda, polls say whatever you need.
Pushpol, never ask a clear question, assume the numbers back your conclusion.
Watch the “Inquiry into missing/murdered native women”, these numbers are gonna spin right out of the liars control.
We are talking another Chief Moose stew comedy.
The obvious will never be spoken on CBC, which is”Who are the Killers?”
It is racist to answer that.

  12. What does one expect from a statist tool of the plutocracy? “Climate change” is the new excuse for more statist theft to prevent an imaginary scenario. This has nothing to do with the earth’s climate whatever, but is a means for the state to rake in more cash which will promptly be siphoned off by the usual gang of banksters and oligarchs. Only those who don’t do their own research are fooled by the blatant statist theft that is the foundation of “global warming”.
Another big question is who watches CBC TV or listens to CBC radio?
