1. The whole discussion of the long-awaited budget is timed to coincide with this resumption of Duffy’s trial. We better watch what is going on in the background, because this is meant to keep us occupied, with the MSM having a gab-fest, while the Trudeau Government continues on their nefarious way.

2. Duffy is of no interest to anyone but Duffy. The whole affair is a farce. How can rules be broken when none existed? Duffy was mad as a wet hen,roster in this case, at Harper. The media loved it and used him to GET Harper. Duffy is of no further use to the media.

   This was end of the world corruption on a massive scale! I am sick and tired of those who have the gall of bringing up all that cash in brown bags. Yesterday’s news that has been dealt with. No? The idea that happened in the province that proselytizes environmental sanctity is mind numbing. Not a Liebel jailed in the theft of millions. As I said nothing to see here.

8. With Duffy all I see is someone who worked exceeding hard at being a senator who failed to comprehend the ambiguity of the Senate expense rules. Was there ever any intent to defraud the Senate? I highly doubt it. While the Senate is to be congratulated for tightening up its expense rules, it left a lot of corpses in its wake. Why they didn’t just rewrite the rules for the future and leave the corpses where they were buried is beyond me. Stupidity, I guess.

9. I have no sympathy for Duffy however I agree. Not much to see here, never has been. It was paid back and I really don’t care how to be humbly honest with you. Has the Liberal party of Canada paid back the 40 plus million it stole from Canadians during the sponsorship scandal. Has the McGuinty/Wynne Liberals paid back the 1.4 billion it stole from taxpapers by cancelling the gas plant in order to secure 2 or 3 seats in the area. Bigger fish to fry. The only difference is Duffy has a direct connection to Harper and the tool-bag media finally found something to stick a little bit to him. Lord knows they were trying for over 10 years to find something anything. The media is corrupt (as we all know already) as is the RCMP and OPP. Sad really

That plus their failure to try to add up their promises and realize that there is a connection between spending money and how big the deficit gets, all confirm that we are being “governed” by amateurs who probably couldn’t even put on an amateur dramatic performance in a local theatre.

    So, as predicted by Mr Harper, the perma deficit, and as boldly asserted by “I todda so” Shamrock, an immediate clearing of the $20b deficit hurdle on their very first budget, surely on a trajectory to at least $30b, with Bombardier & other crony handouts, pipeline paralysis hearings, and hundreds of millions spent building refugee camps on military bases with their budgets. Remember the trajectory of the deficit growth is directly proportional to the needed steps towards a just and liberal society, just like dada taught him. Economic sleight of hand is always permitted in these circumstances.

    Yes. The left cares very much. A rich conservative voluntarily using his own money to make something right, that can’t be allowed. It’s the role of the government to make people do good things or to make amends for wrongs. If we all start doing the right thing ourselves, we wouldn’t need the left to tell us what to do with our lives, and they would have to live their own.

Happened to see the people’s broadcaster’s news(?) channel for several hours as I was sitting in a waiting room at “The Only Game In Town” Health Clinic and the two big stories were the projected $18.4 billion deficit and Duffygate. I’m glad the CBC got more money to cover this event properly.(sarc)

19. Why should oil prices have anything to do with a budget surplus or deficit? I thought high oil prices were holding back the economy and Dutch disease was holding back Ontario industry. It’s Ontario’s turn and what have they got? Nothing.
