  1. Best election ever.
I bet the media would interview the Grand Mohommed as long as he slags Trump.
The way Trump owns these presstitutes is amazing.
The visceral hatred of Trump form the professional politicians and their subordinate media drips will sweep Trump to the presidency.
If the press, democrats and republicans hate him, you know he the right man for the job.
The Pope slinking in, thats got to be another couple of million votes for Trump.

  2. The Vatican literally has walls and also the MOST stringen immigration policy. Hypocrite Pope should not stick his nose in where it belongs. Go Trump!

  3. Meanwhile the Vatican has fifty foot walls, cameras every twelve feet, metal detectors, one security guard for every three people, does not allow any immigrants, migrants, TFWs, refugees, visa applicants or even orphans to stay in their country. The RCC has billions that make Trump[ look like a piker, and the pope is passing judgement on anyone who remotely imitates his own behavior?
Cuba, Venezuela, Iraq et all get a tour form the pope, and a free pass for punishing, executing, persecuting and terminating their citizens, but North America is the problem? Francis is quite literally the biggest hypocrite on the planet.
p.s. I was born RC, but now am a Christian. The two don’t mix well.

  4. This Pope is more South American than most pontiffs, bringing that SA style of socialism to the chair. I’d say, if he wants to forget a wall and let illegals flood into whichever country that suits them then I humbly recommend that each refugee/illegal get a ticket to Rome and taxi fare to the Vatican.
The influx of Mexican, etc to the Vatican would be doable since the majority are Catholic but it could prove interesting with most of the Syrian folk. 😉

  5. “I was born RC, but now am a Christian. The two don’t mix well.”
The only thing that doesn’t mix well is conflating Christianity with anti-Catholicism.

  6. I had observed the trials and tribulations of the residents of Lampedusa Island. It is well out from Italy itself and has a population of about 5000. Thousands of refugees – if that’s what they are have overwhelmed the resources of the island. The accommodation provided for any arrivals was quickly over crowded.
Residents who were interviewed claimed their doors had to be locked in the daytime. Migrants simply walked in and helped themselves to the food in the kitchen. Women could not go out alone at night. A woman said “our lives are changed for ever”.
Yet only today on Canadian T/V was a short piece on the happy women serving up food for the new migrants. Right in Lampedusa itself.
A local businessman said business has picked up, because of the influx.
Absolutely incredible that there should be two absolutely opposing pictures. This is of what is happening in this peaceful island resort like island.
His Eminence has turned a blind eye to the immense problem his countrymen face logistically.

  7. The ideological pope as pop politician rather than religious leader; what credibility, resonance or relevance? None of that here folks. I await his attack on all the pro choice Dem candidates.
Trump probably can’t believe his luck. He thought he hit the jackpot with Hillary’s barking and Obama’s nasty ideology and partisanship.

  8. Holy mackerel! You’d think a real Christian Leader would have forgave and forgot!
I think old El Papa is due for a bit of penance. Bring on the whip!

  9. Conflating Christianity with Catholicism is the problem. What man has created since first building upon the rock, went completely off the rails starting 330 A.D., with a rapid increase in recognition, power, and wealth, and magnified itself into another completely different dimension with the Holy Roman Armies of 900 A.D. The entire facade was dispensed with by the time of the de Borja family, and has limped along upon it’s billions ever since. Mother Theresa is an inspiration to humanity, the robe wearing wealthy hypocrite, not so much.

  10. I tried to drop a tweet into the box – took it but went to moderation so likely will never surface. Anyway, Jazz Shaw from Hot Air’s contribution this afternoon.

    Jazz Shaw @JazzShaw
    Gallup trends latest:
    Is Pope Catholic: down 16%
Bear shits in woods: up 24%

  11. p.s. “”I was born RC, but now am a Christian. The two don’t mix well.””
Um lets see here now, how can you tell stupid from stupid
In Texass the churches (kristian) are a problem with supporting illegals, so it is here in Canada, also in South Carolina, in England, Italy , …sit the list just keeps going on.
And yup ewe bible bangers, I’v been saying that the church should stay out of politics for quit a few years now, now you jokers are pi$$ed because the church ain’t singing from YOUR hymnal. Just too bloody funny

  12. “An individual becomes “Christian” by, and only by, (valid) baptism. Donald Trump was apparently baptized Presbyterian, which faith community has valid baptism. Donald Trump is, therefore, as a matter of canon law (c. 204), Christian. Trump might be a good Christian or a bad one—I cannot say, and neither can anyone else. Trump might do and say things consistent with Christian values or in contradiction to them, but his status as baptized, and therefore as Christian, is beyond dispute.”

  13. “In Texass the churches (kristian) are a problem with supporting illegals, so it is here in Canada, also in South Carolina, in England, Italy ,…sit the list just keeps going on.”
Yup, and in the US, and in Canada, the GOVERNMENTS are supporting illegals too…but that doesn’t mean the average guy or gal is for it.

  14. You are saying Christianity and Catholism is the same?
Not so. Different gods. Christianity serve the One true God, the RC’s worship the goddess Diana in the book of Acts.
I too was born RC, but ‘saw the light’ and became born again according to John 3:3.

  15. Your comment is not supported by history but is typical Protestant BS. “This idea of a Great Apostasy is one of the cornerstones of American Protestantism, along with Mormonism, the Jehovah s Witnesses, and even Islam. Countless millions today profess a faith built on the assumption that the early Church quickly became broken beyond repair, requiring some new prophet or reformer to restore the pure teaching of Jesus and the apostles.”
Try reading this book, The Apostasy That Wasn’t: The Extraordinary Story of the Unbreakable Early Church: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1941663494?keywords=The%20apostasy%20that%20wasn%27t&qid=1455841594&ref_=sr_1_1&s=books&sr=1-1
    You are welcome!

  16. Peter = Petros – a stone, as loose and moveable.
John 1:42 And he led him to Jesus. And when Jesus looked at him, He said, “Thou art Simon the son of Jona [John]: thou shalt be called Cephas [Peter],” which is by interpretation, A stone.
    Nope, not the Rock.

  17. An individual becomes “Christian” by, and only by, (valid) baptism.
Pretty sure the thief on the cross next to Jesus wasn’t baptized…

  18. A person becomes a follower of Jesus Christ only by accepting him into your heart. Sorry, no rigamarole about it, plain and simple. God sent his son to die for the sins of all his children and when we accept that our sins are forgiven and than live for him, we are Christian.
I was baptized as a baby and was a Christian because I said the sinner’s prayer as a child, and then after becoming baptized in the Holy Spirit in my fifties, was baptized in water.
Don’t confuse ritual with the simple teachings of Christ.
It’s actually one of those things you really won’t know for sure until you die and go to be with him in Heaven. Until then, rely on the Word of God.

  19. The Cathars claimed that the pope was Satan himself. For that blasphemy they were brutally exterminated.
So now we have another Satanic pope duelling against a guy with a God complex. I know who I’m betting on! And yes, the popes are still Satanic for all the children they have allowed to be abused and for all the waalth they have confiscated from gullible poor people to use for their own empire building.
Looking forward to when President Trump meets this Satanic Pope and gives him a good kick in the ass. Start by taxing all churches, mosques, synagogues and god knows what other phony baloney crap out there! yes they do some good works but those works need to be isolated as tax exempt charities separate from religious institutions.

  20. If I were Protestant, I would be offended. However, I am big student of history, degrees from a Christian University, and once thought of becoming a priest. So forgive me, if I’m not impressed by your book. The works of Jesus are there to admire and observe. Imitate if you like, or be that other person you’re aspiring to become. Lecturing someone who has a intensive background in the RCC and has studied seriously the bible and many other texts, by pointing to some random book on Amazon, does nothing but move me to chuckle.

  21. The anti-Catholicism on this thread is funny.
Like, “NME 666 is raving off of his meds” funny.
Do those tinfoil hats really help?
Who supported partial-birth abortions? Donald Trump.
Now continue babbling about how true the man-founded religions are as opposed to the Jesus-founded one and don’t forget your “pope-dope” jokes for added effect.

  22. Agree with every word John! It was the best story of the day.
Seeing Trump throw it back at the old fool was a delight. So now Trump has the Pope after him, what next I wonder.
Trump’s Twitter feed is a daily read for me.
Go Trump! I don’t want to get my hopes up, but oh boy do I hope he wins!!

  23. This is the left’s last stand. If the Pope himself can’t bring Trump down in SC, he’s on his way to the presidency. The lefties, the media, the entertainers, the democrats, the conservative establishment, the activists, the politicians, and now the church have tried to bring Trump down and nothing works. He only seems to feed off the fear and hatred.
This Pope is not a religious leader – he’s a politician, weighing in on everything from climate change to the US elections. I’m a Catholic but have little respect for him. He’s poking his Pope’s nose in places it has no place being and I hope he suffers the consequences. The left have no respect or love for Christianity, yet these are the people he appears to be trying to kiss up to. And this is a man who lives in a 50′ high walled city, lecturing Trump about building a wall. Keep going Frances, you’re doing a great job.

  24. I heard a local news report this evening where the pope, concerned with the Zika virus, said it was ok for women in infected regions to use contraception.
If these reports are true, I don’t need any more proof than this to know that the current pope IS NOT catholic.
There! I’m a hypocrite, because I pronounced judgment on the pope’s faith. I freely admit it, and I feel compelled to say this because its the truth, and I am so angry that the pope has forced me to say it. If its ok for the pope can pronounce judgment on a person’s faith (and I believe it’s not), then as a humble catholic, so can I.
I’m going to hell, aren’t I? Thanks, Francis.

  25. What Pope Francis actually said:
“Thank God he said I was a politician because Aristotle defined the human person as “animal politicus.” At least I am a human person. As to whether I am a pawn, well, maybe, I don’t know. I’ll leave that up to your judgment and that of the people. And then, a person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian. This is not in the Gospel. As far as what you said about whether I would advise to vote or not to vote, I am not going to get involved in that. I say only that this man is not Christian if he has said things like that. We must see if he said things in that way and in this I give the benefit of the doubt.”
    (NC Register)
What the Trudeau-fawning popular press say the Pope said:
“Pope Francis forcefully injected himself into the U.S. presidential campaign on Thursday, assailing Republican candidate Donald Trump’s views on U.S. immigration as “not Christian” in a sign of growing international concern at the billionaire businessman’s election prospects.”
    Carry on.

  26. Yawn.
    Do stop being melodramatic.
“Said the Pope, “Don’t confuse the evil of avoiding pregnancy by itself, with abortion. Abortion is not a theological problem. It is a human problem, it is a medical problem. You kill one person to save another, in the best-case scenario. Or to live comfortably, no?”
The Holy Father expanded on the evil of abortion.”
Never said contraception. Never said abortion was right.

  27. Teflon Don Trump already buried him..

Pope is flying back to his Vatican’s 50 foot walls, and the Catholic Church lock-down on immigration..

  28. Every head of state that criticizes Trump for wanting to build a wall should have their country put on a list. Every illegal Mexican caught on U.S. soil gets to pick a country from that list and is given a one way plane ticket to the list-country of their choice. After a listed country hits 1 million unscreened Mexican immigrants, they can then make a large donation to support construction of the wall, they have to make a public declaration in support of Trump building the wall and only then can they request to have their country removed from the list. Once the list is empty or the illegal Mexicans predominately chose to return to Mexico rather than pick from one of those countries still on the list does construction of the wall begin.

  29. You heretics make me laugh out loud. I read the Holy Bible but I am humble enough to know that 42,000 denominations (++) preaching a bible with different “born again” strategies is not objective truth. Jesus founded the Catholic church. That’s enough for me.
And here is another book coming out soon, which was written by those that actually read the bible and the church fathers. “Evangelical Exodus: Evangelical Seminarians and Their Paths to Rome”
“Over the course a single decade, dozens of students, alumni, and professors from a conservative, Evangelical seminary in North Carolina (Southern Evangelical Seminary) converted to Catholicism. These conversions were notable as they occurred among people with varied backgrounds and motivations—many of whom did not share their thoughts with one another until this book was produced. Even more striking is that the seminary’s founder, long-time president, and popular professor, Dr. Norman Geisler, had written two full-length books and several scholarly articles criticizing Catholicism from an Evangelical point of view.”

Come home to the one true apostolic church founded by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and join us in electing a future Pope……:)

  30. You are quite wrong too:
“Since, moreover, you are close upon Italy, you have Rome, from which there comes even into our own hands the authority (of apostles themselves). How happy is its church, on which apostles poured forth all their doctrine along with their blood! where Peter endures a passion like his Lord’s! where Paul wins his crown in a death like John’s! where the Apostle John was first plunged, unhurt, into boiling oil, and thence remitted to his island-exile! See what she has learned, what taught, what fellowship has had even (our) churches in Africa! One Lord God does she acknowledge, the Creator of the universe, and Christ Jesus (born) of the Virgin Mary, the Son of God the Creator; and the Resurrection of the flesh; the law and the prophets she unites in one volume with the writings of evangelists and apostles, from which she drinks her faith. This she seals with the water (of baptism), arrays with the Holy Ghost, feeds with the Eucharist, cheers with martyrdom, and against such a discipline thus (maintained) she admits no gainsayer. This is the discipline which I no longer say foretold that heresies should come, but from which they proceeded. However, they were not from her, because they were opposed to her.(Tertullian, On the Prescription Against Heretics, ch. xxxvi, trans. Rev. Peter Holmes)”

  31. One of the best explanations of God can be found in a little work of art by Yello; Domingo.
Every Christian makes their own definition…as far as I can figure that faith.
Given the immensity of reality, any mans certainty of the face of God, seems a little less than humble.
Now the Pope is a politician from a very long established power, who has chosen to allow himself to get sucked into another powers internal politics.
I would have expected greater wisdom from a man of his age.
Why the f*ck does the Pope want Trump as USA President?
Does he realize Trump may be all that stands between Rome and ISIS?
My faith is restored(It’s a miracle) The Pope wants Trump as he is only one who will destroy ISIS.All the politicians will continue to supply and enable them(as Obama has done) as ISIS is a useful tool in the Messy East.

  32. It is true that this Pope is making some very unusual statements. Not sure what his agenda is. Isn’t it also funny how he has nothing to say about Justin Trudeau’s stance on abortion — and so far nothing to say on his upcoming legislation on euthanasia. It is all very worrisome.

  33. yo. Frank. Butt out. it’s called separation of church and state for a reason.
the catholic church has a long disgusting record of meddling in political affairs, including the stranglehold on Quebec back in 40s and 50s.
    Butt the %&#*&$LL OUT.

  34. Actually, I’m not wrong.
When we all get to Heaven, we’ll know.
Do your thing till then, but just follow Jesus and believe in His Word.
And, don’t add anything to it.

  35. So I guess if Trump is not a Christian, and most definitely Bernie Sanders is also not a Christian the election will have to come down to a vote for either The Hildabeast or Crus/Rubio. So super Tuesday will of course be officially cancelled.

  36. This Pope’s off the cuff talks at the back of an airplane after a tiring visit abroad are a PR manager’s nightmare. When he’s rested and at home, he gives hugs to the President of Iran, kisses Putin on both cheeks and utters nary a discouraging word. Perhaps the discretion involved in knowing when to keep silent gets lost when he’s tired. It’s not a good sign. And there is no point trying to defend his statement. He should apologize and hope people forget.
In the meantime, I’m sure Trump is only too happy to dominate the news cycle yet again. And to have hundreds of Protestant ministers taking the opportunity to debate whether protecting hearth and home is at all un-Christian and give Trump a boost for having taking the positions he has.

  37. all those thumpers claiming *their* version of the thumped book is the only right one, pointing to all others claiming ‘you got it wrong’.
the part they actually got right is the part where they point to all others claiming they got it wrong. Hundreds of *others*, pointing at each of THEM, loudly exclaiming “YOU GOT IT WRONG”. That’s the part they all got right. all, ALL versions of the bible have been bent twisted, reinterpreted, edited, filtered, copies of translations of copies, on and on and on.
proof that mahn is corrupt and evil to the core. screws up EVERYTHING he touches.
I have a dream, a hope, a wish, that when the Son of God returns, one of the major if not first orders of business will be to chronicle all the flaws and misdirection injected by the likes of the katholick chuch, naming names. until He works His way back, back, back to the true original Word.
and proceeds from there. via whatever communications technology suffices.
Sometimes He wears His Jewish robes. Sometimes He wears a suit. Sometimes He wears jeans and construction boots. Why do I believe that? Because I also believe enough of the true original Word survived all that mangling mahn inflicted on it that those who seek knowledge with a true heart will find it.
One of those truths I believe is that when God created matter, ie protons, He gave them a ‘hook’, a ‘property’ not detected in the lab whereby He can command it and thus perform miracles. If He so chooses. there is an actual physical attribute of matter put there exclusively for this reason.
It’s all going to be explained, countless questions answered. the truth of these things will be known.

  38. I’m definitely not what you could call a ”devout” Catholic, although I was ”doused” at birth. I believe in a Higher Power, but at a scientific level whereby there’s a physical force throughout the universe that (seems to) keep things in order.
I do however fail to understand Donald Trump’s accusation against the Pope. The Pope was at a mass on the South side of the Texas–Mexican border. He didn’t condone illegal entries into the USA. He spoke about ”forced migrations” where large numbers of people are forced to seek work outside of their environment. And I fail to see where Donald Trump has authority over what happens in Mexico.
Who but Americans living close to the Mexican border are profiting from immigrants who arrive there every day and work for meager wages? I’ve met Mexican farm workers as far north as Taber, Alberta. One worker told me that he’s actually seen migrant workers hide inside the engine compartment of semi-trailer tractors for the privilege of picking watermelons in Texas. Where were they picking watermelons? In plain view of highway traffic less than 150 meters into a Texas field along a major highway!
Another package of Donald trump BS!!

  39. The pope decides who is a Christian ? What a joke the organization
That has harboured priests and bishops that have raped young boys
    for century’s .

  40. proof that mahn is corrupt and evil to the core. screws up EVERYTHING he touches.
In other words, you’re saying God is incapable of preserving His Words? You would rather have it in the original dead languages…ancient Hebrew, Aramaic and Koine Greek?
For, as Paul says, in 1Co 14:9 So ye also, unless ye give through the tongue words intelligible, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air.
