Trump/Cruz 2016
If you’re establishment Dem/Rep, yes, this is a scary time.
If you’re a regular person sick of the current state of politics, it’s actually a pretty exciting time.
What self serving drivel.. The demagogues are clustered in groups like the National Review….they like the status quo policies of failed Administrations. The GW Bush failures & Obamas failures are because of the Elitist class (advisers & chirpers) that are stuck-on-Stupid. The only real issue for 2016 is HERE & NOW….Let the nose pickers fake the polls & lie to themselves. Donald Trump got
20% of the Democrat voters in NH, if these fools don’t understand what that means for the General election they are seriously handicapped.
I am 74 and I see the HERE & NOW.. The Establishment want someone that will fight over past grievances & blame game… Drop the false “Ego”… your day is done
I am not sure what I am supposed to be agreeing with or not agreeing with …. but here’s what I think. The NRO is a left leaning rag that Mr. Buckley would spin in the grave over if he knew …
They talked much more respectfully about Sanders than Trump. They are both deathly afraid of a change in the status quo. They are filled with fear. They truly believe that those of us who support Mr. Trump are jejune, stupid, rubes …. However, they don’t seem to get that those of us and we are many …. who are tired of the corruption and lies about climate change and the middle east and pretty much everything to do with liberty and prosperity the lax borders … the sucking up to the filthy muslim world .. we are willing to take a chance on Trump because we know too well what an establishment leader like Bush or Rubio or Clinton and fat pant suit would do to what’s left of America.
We are at a turning point in history. Canada chose to flush itself down the toilet with the little shit spawn of PET. The USA will either go with Trump and hopefully after the shit hits the fan and it will hit big …. things can return to something better than what we are witnessing now. Although with the world in the disarray it’s in right now .. and with a looming third world world war building in the middle east and the EU … and with the lying yellow bastards in China duping us all for so many years with their phony new capitalist philosophy … well … things may not be able to get much better before we bottom out over the next few years.
Ya it’s scary, but interesting times …. not for the meek.
I guess you’re onside with Justin bringing in 50,000 “Syrians” and getting rid of the work visas required for Mexicans then, Robert. Immigration helps Canada just like the States!!! Goodbye for good.
well sir, that was well said. Norman has a great followup with, “If you’re a regular person sick of the current state of politics, it’s actually a pretty exciting time.” With Obama the Americans got a glimpse of what Marxism is and they will be at a crossroads this fall when they choose an even more radical Marxist or to go back to what made America great to begin with.
And you are right about Canada flushing itself down the toilet. Canadians chose to be given the middle index finger by the Laurentian Elites once again. I guess Darrel Bricker and John Ibbitson were wrong when they wrote in the book,”The big Shift” that the Laurentian Elite’s grip on power in Canada was over. Guess what, a useless hind teat is now the leader in Canada.
I agree with Norman that this is a pretty exiting time, a time I could easily do without. Sanders and Clinton are a far bigger threat to the nation than Trump and with either in power the republic would take a path of no return from a financial and capitalist perspective. The end result would be Venezuela. Trump is a blowhard showman but does have negotiating skills, some logic and most valuable, is not beholden to the establishment. He could rise to the challenge of being a statesman. There is hope he can turn things around as opposed to Hillary or Bernie where there is none. Any of the top three, Cruz,Rubio or Trump could be another Reagan or a dud, but at least there’s a chance. Bush is a advocate for common core, so in my opinion he’s out. He’s also too deep in the DC establishment and in too many pockets. Cruz is disliked by the political elite so he would be my first choice. But there’s a long way to go and I’m still stocking up on popcorn. The only thing I’m absolutely certain on is that a lot of shit will hit a lot of fans this year, both here and around the world, and we have a ringside seat for what could well be the end times as we know them. Black clouds are rolling in globally no matter which direction we turn. This could well be the last “good” year for a long time to come. Or not.
It saddens me to see several of my supposed “conservative” SDA friends now use the same tactics that I once thought were the reserve of the Left. For the past 7 years, if one dared disagree with Barack Obama’s policies … even a little … then Leftists called you a racist. In the recent Canadian election, if one wasn’t onboard with the Shiny Pony, then Leftists told you that you were a hater or a right wing nut. If Hillary wins the Democrat nomination then anyone who criticizes here will deemed to “hate women” or be a sexist.
Now all of a sudden, according to some on here, the folks at National Review Online are “Lefists”? WTF?!? And because I might have some questions about the authenticity of Donald Trump, I’m now suddenly onside with the open borders crowd?!?
These childish, simplistic tactics sadden me greatly.
Typical drivel from arrogant, elitist members of the media who self-anoint as intelligent and as oh-so-with-it.
If they had two brain cells, I’d be surprised.
The difference between Donald Trump and all the other candidates for President, including that international socialist and con-man Bernie Sanders, is that Mr. Trump is NOT saying the following: “Give me some of your money and I PROMISE you that your life will be better.”
That so-called promise sounds like what a swindler and a con-man would say? Absolutely right, but, except for Mr. Trump, that’s what they’re all saying.
“Uh, thanks for the $1,000. I’ll be right back with your ‘better life’ in just a few years.”
Mr. Trump actually refuses money from people. One of his good friends who is equally wealthy gave him $1meg for his campaign. Mr.Trump returned it. The fellow was confused because that not how things are done.
That’s the trouble with our media as sources of information and opinion. They’re run by “I’m so smart, kneel and kiss my ring” types.
The Republican party is a smorgasbord of ideologies and it is amusing to hear those claiming to be the “true” GOP stalwarts. It is perhaps fatally conflicted as a functioning party much like Conservatives in the deranged dominion. From progressives to libertarians and everything in between, the GOP has it all. Trump’s mercurial populism and arrogance runs a good risk of fragmenting segments of the loose coalition, something Albertans should now be familiar with. If Cruz doesn’t take the nomination, I can see the libertarians, assuming they didn’t leave when Paul dropped out, staying home or wasting their vote with their own party. Trump may bring in independents and centrist progressives but how much of the base can he afford to lose in the general election.
The Democrats are the party of the dominant culture, the statists, the race hustlers, the home for socialists and the old left now cloaked in green, a relatively homogenized puree where an extremely limited gene pool is vying to lead a lock-step following. An old unapologetic socialist huckster with enough integrity to appeal to the freshly institutionalized leftist youth vote versus the despicably deceitful low-life, Mrs Clinton.
I found Bachelor and Charen rather insightful. Some people apparently don’t like the hearing verifiable blemishes of the Trump phenomenon.
If Trump or Cruz win, the world will be thrown into the greatest depression ever, not because they did anything wrong, but because they were prepared to do the right things which should have been done ages ago. So hard times ahead.
If anyone else wins, we continue the trajectory into full blown fascism. So hard times ahead.
The difference? Trump or Cruz could set up the conditions for a return of prosperity and growth, but not without severe problems from the welfare recipients, both corporate and private. This means race riots and cities reduced to ashes or worse.
Anyone else would simply keep the nose of the plane down until we meet that hard object referred to as the earth. Afterwards, TPTB will convince the survivors that they know how to turn things around for the benefit of all. Translated, more of the same except that the military and police forces would enforce “peace and order” until the lift off which never comes.
If you really care about the Republican party, recent events will be unsettling. If people are looking for some kind of alternative to the Democratic-media complex, then perhaps at one time it might’ve been the Republican option. It’s not anymore. They have nobody to blame but themselves.
There’s 17:48 of my life I’ll never get back again.
Just more patronizing drivel from American elites. And disappointingly even Kate has fallen for it – by implication – since she decided to give it ‘air time’ on her site. The truth is all these chattering classes are out of touch with what is happening on the ground, the third word invasion, I mean. Their kids go to private schools; live in elegant neighborhoods; mix with thinking people. But the rest of North America (I include Canada) do not. We are stuck dealing with the invasion in our everyday lives. In some places in Toronto there are class rooms almost wall to wall Muslim. Muslim girls are removed from the class when they have their periods. Almost wall to wall Muslim excepting, of course, the poor whites who also through economic necessity go to the school. Do you think the offspring of these pundits have to suffer such nonsense?
But Trump, strange, since he has the wealth of an elitist, knows. He is not a demagogue. He is a realist. (Just think how over the top patronizing Batchelor and Charen were in the little talk implying the rest of us are idiots. ‘Taken in by Trump’ (or Bernie) as it were. The subtext being ‘well they are not very bright like us. They can’t see what we an see. Demagogue is from the Greek …..blah, blah, blah ‘)
It is imperative you support (and in the US vote for) Trump even if you don’t like him.
Why? Because if the Dems or RINOs (including Rubio, Bush, Kasich) get in America will continue to be converted into a third world country. Crazy? Well ask the people who live in Dearborn who have to suffer the Muslim call to prayer five times a day. And who have seen their property prices collapse since only Muslims will buy their houses. Or ask the Californians where English is becoming a minority language.
And if the Dems get in they will continue with the US destruction. Think that is a fantasy? The left does not really want to destroy the US you say. Well consider this quote from Susan Sontag a darling of the left when she was alive:
“If America is the culmination of Western white civilization, as everyone from the Left to the Right declares, then there must be something terribly wrong with Western white civilization. This is a painful truth; few of us want to go that far. … The truth is that Mozart, Pascal, Boolean algebra, Shakespeare, parliamentary government, baroque churches, Newton, the emancipation of women, Kant, Marx, Balanchine ballets, et al., don’t redeem what this particular civilization has wrought upon the world. The white race is the cancer of human history; it is the white race and it alone—its ideologies and inventions—which eradicates autonomous civilizations wherever it spreads, which has upset the ecological balance of the planet, which now threatens the very existence of life itself.”
The time to save America is urgent. Europe is probably lost. Ignore the chattering classes. Ignore the ‘look down their noses’ literati: Vote Trump to save the US country and indirectly the Western world. It is the last best only chance we have. Don’t be suckered by out of touch pseudo intellectuals.
The only way to beat demagoguery is with a demagogue of your own. Unfortunately the win only lasts until a better demagogue comes along. In the long run the left will prevail because their message is way more emotionally appealing and hence more suitable to demagoguery.
Consternations about the dark-side of “democracy” were around long before the American founding fathers, and in my opinion the evolution to “mob rule” was always inevitable. The underlying problem we are faced with is not ideology, it’s human nature.
This is a very well-argued column about what trump really is:

rzr; Good day; I pretty much agree with something in most of the previous comments, except a reference to Kate succumbing to the screed of Batchelor. I think additional information provided by a trusted referring person is helpful. Thank you Robert and Kate.
rzr; You have defined the change expected in this 2016 Election of POTUS. The Republican Party will not be the Rinos any longer even if the Descriptive Name – Republican – remains. The present Rinos in the now moving to extinction Political Party probably have established alternative approaches within their own Vested Interest sinecure seeking groups. These alternative voter approaches will start to be put in place depending on when each group determines that it is time to Act.
However the controls will move away from the Washington Sinecure Seeking level towards the local County control until once again control is coalesced back where the Real Tax-payer funds can be accessed. Just ask Pelosi and Reid.
Where I am mostly offended in this ” we know better than you” diatribe, to quote Kate once more, is the typical insecurity about American sophisticatioin in the Opinion of the European Communicators who deign to advise the immature wise Journalists in North America.
Just imagine if the Pack of Jackels who hover over the Socialist carcass of Europe were calling the shots during the more dangerous periods of the “Cold War” were composed of the present examples of European Politicians. There would NOT be a Generation of Millenials and Gen.X ers or even Late-Blooming Baby-Bommers.
The recognition of the average American Citizen, who does understand they are Sovereign has changed from INDIFFERENCE, of the always recognized scurrilous, sleazy, people rising higher and higher in the cess-pool of National Politics, to; I GUESS WE BETTER SLAP THE SLEAZE AWAY.
The REAL American People understand, just as the Founding Fathers of the Great Experiment did, Slapping away Sleaze never ends. Every once in a while, Real People must set aside their Real Lives, and take an interest in their Sovereignity.
I wish I could have the confidence in the Canadian Sovereign Citizen recognizing this need to Slap Away Sleaze, but Canada’s Founding Fathers were still under Direction from the British Colonial Office and the Ordinary Canadian Citizenry never developed. It was only well after the Laurentien Elites gained their Demogogery, to quote the Internet Pog; that the American Concept of Ordinary Sovereign Citizen became even partially understood by Canadians. Probably a recognition not recognized in a Quebec fighting for Tribal existance.
The only answer to Slapping Away Sleaze for Real Candian Ordinary Citizen Sovereigns, will be a readjustment of Provincial/County/Regional Borders. This will isolate the present foolish approach of Concentrating Canadian Population in Mega-Urban future inner City Slums owned and controlled by the Present and Future Lauretien Elite Slum-Lords.
I do hope, even though we do not have Grandchildren, the South-Western Ontario areas will be recognized in the Border Relocations when, either at Manitoba’s Eastern or Western Border becomes a REAL Canada with Sovereign Ordinary Candian Citizens is reborn to either along distance relationship with Saskatchewan/Alberta and/or in some mutual arrangement with the North-West U.S.A States.
Just a quick aside: John Batchelor has a really great radio show and has a real articulate way of phrasing a discussion, particularly about foreign policy.
“Two keen observers of the American political scene”
A bow-tied poindexter and an NRO hack [yes, hack, NRO went b@lls deep against Trump – no objectivity here folks]?
“Eight years of Bernie or Hilary in the WH will cure America since we’ll see what was…bla bla bla…”?
are you kidding? you want to take THAT chance? oy vey…
Not interested in the so-called conservative movement anymore.
there’s nothing to conserve:
We got Hilary and Bernie with the edge to taking the WH and Notly in Alberta, McWynnty in Ontario and Zoolander in Ottawa and the EU going down the tubes…etc!
No more pussy footing around.
If Trump upsets everyone’s apple cart then cudos to him!

About what, John?
Still has a kneejerk reaction to the long past due date European “we certainly know better than y’all Colonials”, rzr; Cheers;
