How long before he signs on to work for one of the CBC websites? Given their boost in funding, they must be hiring.
I am now fan of Glen McGregor, his attacks on Harper and the CPC bordered on psychotic, but to be fair he was giving Trudeau a pretty rough time after the election as well.
It is almost like the press served their job as JT cheerleaders, got him elected, and now are expendable. Many cuts here in Calgary at both the Sun and the Herald as well.
Oooops! That should be “I am NO fan…” Dooof!
Not just CBC, C Miner – there’s always an opening for him in CTV (bell media)too.
Funny that this story comes from CFRA….the radio station that has hired disgraced Evan Solomon to do its entire afternoon watch on the airwaves.
Maybe they have room for McGregor in the morning. That way I can stop listening to 580 completely.
Jeeezus I sure wished I could get a “buy-out”!
Took a 120K voluntary paycut for 2016, (actually it twas very easy to say yes to in in Notley’s Alberta, piss on her new tax’s) – but am also getting a whole host of new benefit cut-backs in coming months.
I wake up each day dreaming of that buy-out, that others seem to get so easily.
Exactly. CFRA Ottawa will lose it’s ratings big time, two of their biggest draws have resigned, Madely and Green. Rob Snow is doing a good job with Green’s former slot but the hiring of Solomon is telling us where they’re headed.
Some of Sibley’s stuff was good
I will not miss him either. Good riddance.
Unfortunately there are very few totally objective media personalities, and he certainly was not one of those.
When easterners are prepared to import oil from despot governments rather than support their supposed western cousins the import cannot be clearer. Bottom line the relationship is tenuous at best. The culture out east is imperialistic and couched in fiscal desperation. When the provincial debt in ONT & QE combined almost equals that of the Canadian national debt what should expectations be?
The big question in Canada at this time is whether westerners will be as sheep like as they were under the Lougheed government. That said I do not give my home province of B.C. a flyer. B.C. was no better under Vander Zalm who folded the tent as fast as Lougheed did. I asked him why and he said ‘because Canada gave my family a home after the war’. One could be sympathetic to that response but it did not answer the question. IMHO the treatment of the West is no different than what the Brits were doing to the Americans prior to their revolution. The West has to draw a line in the sand and aggressively defend their economic future.
He and Glavin were the reasons I finally canceled my subscription.
Leftist sycophants in general and the media party’s in particular always
land on their feet. Now that the Shiny Pony Circus is in Ottawa’s centre
ring for the duration, the good times will roll, bien sur.
This is interesting – I dug up an old Tweet from McGregor when he left his last job…
Sad to be leaving @BrassRail on Feb. 19. Thanks to dancers, bouncers, bartenders, servers, and fellow strip club DJs for a wonderful 18 years.

We need to go on a hunger strike to protest the deplorable state of the Canadian media and to bring attention to the plight of the poor journalists who labour so selflessly.
Who’s up for a burger or some fish soup?
I’m buying!
They should strike in protest.
Surely the Canadian Media Guild would financially support them.
Actually if the Presstitues went on strike, would anyone notice?
I too wonder about the timing, it certainly appears the useful idiots served their purpose, selling the boy child to voters.
Now they get the normal treatment reserved for useful but treacherous idiots.
Alan; not sure of your source, but Twitter didn’t exist then.
Maybe with all this “oooo scarreee ooo” globull warming Canada will finally be able to grow bananas for our banana republic of the north, where the presstitutes cover for the kleptocrats while they steal the treasury dry. We need John Candy back to spoof glowbull warming, he would be priceless. Nothing makes a better day than to see slime, being rewarded with severance and buyouts, shows young budding presstitutes there is reward for lieing and backstabbing good people like Harper out of office. The Brass Rail will at least have their “rail licker” back, if only the unreadable Braid was given the same kind of buyout.
I stopped reading that liberal rag years ago. When you are just a propaganda organ, why bother. And I am a big consumer of “news” but my understanding goes beyond the pap that “journalists” write. Mostly, they just rehash press releases. And if it was not in a press release, it did not exist.
Grief. I am, pissed off with Solomon. He just regurgitates CBC media talking points.
Hey, now that crossed eyed git Mark Kennedy and that other maggot Glen (robocalls) MacGregor have been released from pretending to be “journalists” they are free to work full time for the Libranos… pretending to be “journalists” must have been exhausting.
DEMOCRACY-RULES OFFERS POSTMEDIA BUY-OUT
Yes it’s true. Leopoldo and I have decided to buy the entire newspaper chain. Our standing offer, that expires at midnight tonight, is as follows. $1 for the whole thing. But none of the debts. Postmedia must eat those. All unions to be dissolved. We will convert the printing presses into toilet paper factories. The paper will have a nice lavender scent, with brief stories printed on each sheet. All the stories will be false, inaccurate, crude, and out of date. It’s the quality that counts. No reporters, we’ll have Walmart workers cut and paste from the internet. Paperboys (paper persons?) will deliver a new toilet roll each day. Or customers can buy our new toilet paper printer and print their own copies. This offer not be repeated, and it’s the best offer you will get.
The takeover of all media by the leftist is almost complete, and the Stockholm syndrome will dominate.
