Last September, the Governments’s Chief Medical Officer, Dame Sally Davies, said: “There is no evidence that Alzheimer’s disease can be transmitted in humans, nor is there any evidence that Alzheimer’s disease can be transmitted through any medical procedure”.

I remember the early days of AIDS. You couldn’t catch it from this reason or that reason so don’t be so paranoid. Of course they were wrong in many circumstances.
Whew, what a relief!
What a load of rot. CJD is not Alzheimers. And nothing in the article provides any evidence that Alzheimers can be transmitted the way CJD can.
Also, this is The Independent, hence reason to disregard it until some reputable source produces something similar. This was the same rag that promoted anti-vaccination rubbish, resulting in the sharp rise in measles, mumps and rubella that we’ve seen in recent years.
Isn’t CJD the human equivalent of BSE (aka Mad Cow Disease)?
Yes. CJD is the same . Just that when you see a human staggering around, it’s hard to tell if just to many wobbly pops or CJD. Cows don’t have that problem(well, except when kid get at them). :):)
there was an outbreak of a brain rotting disease in Africa.
apparently the cultural practice was the family survivors would eat the brain of the deceased. can we see a problem with that? the real story however, was the eminent researcher who would handle the brains with his bare hands and oopsie, got the same brain rot.
that some people can declare for all time that some medical condition must propagate via only specific acceptable means I’ll never understand.
remember, there was a time in the medical profession that pathogens ‘did’t exist’. that was the standard traditional only acceptable view amongst the experts.
I really BELIEVE everything that NOAA publishes about RECORD HEAT … because they are a government agency that would ONLY do PURE science … they would NEVER intentionally deceive the public like all those silly deniers say … their uh, uhm, ah, numbers … are, ahh … what were we talking about ?
